Only way I’d be ok with this is Braun playing 1B to free up Grisham playing 150+ games in LF. Priority, imo, is Grisham playing every day.

Pretty much agree with your list, except if Moose hurting, Shaw up earlier. And Burnes will be up at some point.

Someone help me understand the Freitas love around here? I see a 30 year old minor league journeyman catcher. He's been in AAA with 6 different organizations: Oakland, Baltimore, Cubs, Atlanta, Seattle, and Milwaukee. When he has gotten the call to the major leagues, he couldn't hit a lick in limited at bats .214/.270/.313. He was made available in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft once, he's been released once, and placed on waivers once. I get that he's on the 40 man roster so its easy to call him up and have a 3rd catcher for September, but am I missing something that this is a player who is supposed to have future potential?? It’s only me that keeps on talking about him. Limited AB’s is the key phrase from your take. Not enough AB’s is important to note, because his AAA pacific coast league stats over the last 2 years are not inflated to the same extent that other players that are putting up ridiculous numbers with the AAA juiced ball. Juiced ball home runs are not his thing, putting the barrel on the ball at a high rate is. His K% is below 15% which is elite. With this information it gives the proper perspective to his .385 .460 line. Or his hitting LHP at a .530 clip. Oh and that doesn’t include his 2-2 with 2 doubles in the AAA all star game off of 2 pretty good pitchers. Stearns must see something in him, since he traded for the guy, and has been rostered all year. I’ve eyeballed him numerous times, he’s a great hitter from what I’ve seen, rarely swings and misses, and imo, needs 300 AB’s in the big leagues, and he’ll hit ~ .280-.300.

I thought this was about Hiura. No, there's absolutely no reason to sign Grisham right now unless you give him a Kingery type deal. You'll be able to sign him in a year from now cheap if he hits well. "Great approach," is a rather vague sentiment to me, but a great eye? I think that's about the only thing he's proven in the minor leagues. Great approach to me means consistently swinging at balls in the zone, and not swinging at pitches out of the zone. Simple. And I would argue Grisham is elite in this regard. And as far as the minor leagues are concerned, what else could he have done there, really?

Grisham is not overmatched, he’s just slumping. We know this happens to all hitters. It was bound to happen to Grisham, since he’s been consistently barreling the baseball for months now. Doesn’t change who he is one bit as a hitter, in fact, one could argue, an extremely forward thinking GM, might just offer him an extension now to save some millions, instead of having him “prove”it next year, you know, to save like 10 million. Either we believe in him or not. I believe.

Yelich > 130-140 mil in prospect capital = 4-5 top 100 Hader > 100-110 mil in prospect capitol = 3-4 top 100 So 7-9, Definitely franchise altering trades, so add 8 top prospects to the 3-4 already in the system and the top farm overnight to go with a great core. Re- tool in 1-2 years, except this time with more impactful talent.

Might be tough to overcome this one if he’s out for an extended period of time. Some might say it just might not be our year.

Interesting to lump Grisham into that group. Let's see him perform for more than spot starts over 2 weeks before we do that. He’s a 1st round pick with a superior eye, with a great plate approach that can barrel a baseball. Big discount if we can get him to extend now. No brainer.

This team has no business contending, but, I’m not giving up hope. 2017 played well in September, last year was even better. Suter Peralta Nelson woodruff Freitas are potential big time weapons, Grisham’s gonna get hot and so is Yelich, and maybe maryvale can fix Burnes and he can help the pen for the stretch run.

I really thought after the multiple aces proclamation and the "just wait til Williams....Black....Nelson....Suter....Rasmussen gets here" haven't amounted to anything at this level, he would have cooled it. But no, that hype train just keeps picking up steam. Williams doesn’t appear to be ready. Looked good vs pirates, but not so much lately, throwing FB right down Broadway and getting killed. But Nelson Suter and Peralta are coming.

Yeah. The kid was so hot when he got called up and of course sits four or five days a week. Pinch hits lefty vs lefty a bunch and now is struggling. Brewers baseball. Catch it!! When did Grisham sit 4 or 5 days a week since he got called up? He has been starting and playing pretty regularly but just hasn’t been hitting the last couple of weeks. An occasional home run and that’s about it. He’s been sitting more than playing. He’s not seeing the ball, first real slump of the year, swinging threw balls that he normally hits.
