  1. Nelson has pitched 14 innings for San Antonio since he got sent down and has walked 9. Most of those came in his first few appearances, last 6 appearance’s he’s been fantastic 10+ IP > 21 Ks.
  2. People who actually do this for a living think you're wrong, so I'll go with them. That’s fine, I’ll go with “and that”. I’m 100% sure he knows 10,000 times more in depth knowledge on the crew’s system, than a lazy, months late take from a publication that has to cover 30 teams.
  3. Spangenberg was not even good enough to make the 40 man roster out of spring training, man. He's nothing. He's a waiver wire guy. Nelson has been a complete disaster and has to be in the camp of "prove it" before he can be counted on for anything. Peralta was recently demoted from the MLB roster because of how bad he was pitching and sports a 5.73 ERA and -.9 WAR on the year. Suter is a secondary soft tossing 6th starter/swingman who hasn't pitched in 13 months. These. Are the guys. You are expecting to rescue a -30 run differential team and turn it into a playoff team. And you see no problem with this. You follow what’s happening with their rehabs, you know your seriously sandbagging/downgrading what Nelson and Suter are doing at San Antonio for an extended period of time. And Peralta’s last game 0 BBS 5 Ks.
  4. Can you provide the source to that ranking? https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2019/07/29/baseball-america-ranks-brewers-farm-system-dead-last/1859346001/ I haven't seen it ranked higher than 27th. So 27th, 30th, either way it's crap and very likely isn't going to provide us any help any time soon. It’s really like 2 different farms. Position player prospects few and far between. Probably no team has less. Pitching is ridiculously underrated. I mean silly ridiculously underrated. Every level, every team, is loaded with them. And it’s not just me that thinks this.
  5. Carpenter and Shaw and Cain > really, there are no words.
  6. Suter and Nelson. That’s 2 secret weapon’s. Peralta’s can be a weapon. There’s more on the pitching side. But devoid of position prospects, if moose has a broken wrist, that’s a major problem. But we have Spangenberg.
  7. Yes, Grandal homered once in last 30+ games, he’s an on base machine, because of the walks, but his bat has slowed, why? Maybe it’s the ridiculous amount of play? Some or most of you can and have made fun of the Freitas, but playing him at first with Pina Catching vs LHP, AND RESTING GRANDAL, was a no brainer, and massive mistake. Powerless Grandal is showing that every day now.
  8. It's actually been 13 days. It's been 2 days since you said you could tell something special was happening with this team and it was more than just a 3 game winning streak. You gotta stop making predictions. Sometimes a 3 game winning streak really is just a 3 game winning streak and little else. Gio is a problem. Davies is a problem. Lineup vs LHP a problem. Cain a problem. Other than those problems, this team in great shape. Some of the issues I mentioned can be mitigated somewhat by the Stearns September Roster. But if Moose has a broken wrist it’s gonna be tough.
  9. Ok, your right Cain’s on fire at the plate, and Grandal’ not tired from playing constantly, and maybe it’s only been a month since he homered.
  10. Gio is off, and has been off last couple starts, command is gone. It’s a problem.
  11. What? Those are all-stars this season and last. Cain’s offense is really bad. Grandal hasn’t homered in what, almost 2 months, and Moose is the worst RISP hitter on the team.
  12. Perhaps they've realized that Grisham is a liability on defense playing CF? I’m sure he is a liability, at least compared to Cain, but from what I’ve seen, is more than competent in CF, and Grisham batting leadoff offers better offensive potential, AND gains valuable experience. Grisham shouldn’t be sitting, Cain Should, probably help his thumb.
  13. Information I’ve seen shows Sano to be an average or even slightly above average third baseman this season. Last three years: Sano at 3B (rtot) -16, -6, -10. A butcher at 3B. Avg. at best at 1B and this year -16. Shaw is by far the superior fielder, but Sano is slightly better OBP and $2M cheaper. I’ll take Sano.
  14. Grisham should be playing CF, and leading off. When Braun needs rest, Grisham to LF and Cain to CF, with Grisham leading off. Doesn’t matter if LHP or RHP. Cain has had ample opportunity to hit again and really hasn’t, it’s just who he is THIS YEAR. Grisham should be playing everyday and batting leadoff.
  15. It's going to be doubly depressing when he's throwing gems for the Cards, Cubs or Reds down the stretch. Hope it’s the Cubs. Bring it on!
  16. Imo, The brewers are a better team than the Cardinals or Cubbies. The Cards offensive is not very good, rotation is ok, nothing special, and their pen is solid but again, nothing special. Defense is really good, especially with bader running down everything hit up in the air in center. We’re facing 3 RHP’s so offensively we have the advantage, even against Flaherty, who, even though he’s pitching well, we’ve been able to hit in the past. We could sweep, but probably not, so I think we win 2.
  17. Big picture Stearns has done a good job. My criticism’s are over this years roster decisions and I’ve spoken about them already, so enough on that. The real issue here is how much of the direction of the team is really determined by Stearns and how much by Attanasio? And since no one knows for sure all we can do is guess. Imo, Stearns has done a Superior job, especially when you consider the payroll limitations. He’s only run this team for 46 months. Lightning quick rebuild with an assist from Melvin, I would argue too quick, based upon the real strength of the farm(overrated>look at the 4 top prospects traded for Yelich). Astute waiver claims, and scrap heap pick-ups, aren’t the abundance of impact young controllable talent that this team needs to have, based on payroll, to have sustained success. I believe the brewers to be in great shape to eventually have the “abundance of impactful controllable talent”. Imo, the farm is better now than when he took over. His drafts have been good(exception being Corey Ray) especially this last draft. Overseas investing in talent and logistics has improved substantially. And with Yelich Hader, star players with control that can be traded this offseason(Hader) or next(Yelich) to get us the abundance of young impactful talent to add to an already strong core(Hiura Grisham Woodruff Houser) plus another Stearns draft or two. I do have confidence in Stearns, even if we need a re-tool.
  18. Don’t sleep on Jimmy. Last 10+ IP > 21 Ks.
  19. I think if the crew up 6-7 or down the same, he’ll be just fine making his debut.
  20. Stokes and T Williams gone. No way they don’t pitch Nelson and Suter.
  21. You mean Davies to the pen The brewers will have so much depth in the pen in September, if a starter is giving up runs, they will get pulled, no matter the inning, kinda like the playoffs. With Nelson Suter Peralta Lyles Pomeranz Supak Wilkerson all capable of 2-3 innings, it’s gonna be a blurred pitching staff.
  22. tyrone taylor has surged himself (hitting a three run homer already tonight). entering tonight's game, his august slash: .360 / .421 / .593. Yes, and I predict a call-up September 1.
