  1. It’s early, but not Chacín’s best game. Too much plate.
  2. Max Fried has nasty stuff, even with 8 righty’s facing him, he’s not gonna be easy to hit. But we’ll see what happens
  3. The thing that know one is talking about is if the brewers have an innings limit this year for jimmy, and if so, maybe then, he goes to the pen. Even though he’s yet to throw an inning for the big club, he’s thrown innings in Arizona, and Texas getting his arm built up, so it’ll be interesting what the brewers limitations are for jimmy if any.
  4. I’m one that had him in my top 7, I think 7th if I remember correctly, for CC to single this guy out in ST, to say how impressive he was, and then the crew activating him for the T Rat game at miller park to make his debut really let’s me know how highly they think of him. He’s now my #1 and it’s not close. Now that Keston's up or regardless? 1.) Hiura 2.) Rasmussen
  5. Nah, Barnes is still on the roster. Curious how they'll go with this one. Not sure Peralta makes sense in the bullpen the same way Burnes does. Would probably rather have him starting every 5 days, ready to come up in case of injury. It's probably a spot start for Anderson anyways, maybe two, before they call up Nelson. Peralta to the pen is a fantastic idea, think last year’s playoffs when he pitched 3 innings vs the dodgers and dominated. He’s gonna give us 2-4 innings per use, which in turn, will make our pen that much stronger and rested. Then add Anderson doing the same and our pen is suddenly dynamic.
  6. Imo, Thames should play much more vs right handers, get into a rhythm. Aguilar’s might be hitting again, but not for power, and his sloth like movement on the base paths really hurts the team.
  7. The Phils have all the talent, but so much of that team has turned over, I just wonder how long it's going to take for them to gel. They are the current guinea pig for if buying your way to a championship is feasible in today's MLB economic climate. None of the east teams have good bullpens, or quality depth, especially pitching.
  8. Can you please stop saying this. This team has made absolutely no indication that the thought of Nelson going to the pen has even crossed their minds. He's been a starting pitcher his whole career, they are stretching him out as a starter right now, and he's coming off a major+++ injury that likely necessitates a higher level of maintenance and recovery work between outings. That is not a guy you stick out in the pen and demand to get ready quickly for short, spontaneous outings. I mean, I've been wrong before about this team, but on this one, I feel pretty darn certain. Jimmy Nelson isn't going to be a reliever this year. His options are starting for the MLB team, optioning him and starting him at AAA, or a trip back to the DL if he deemed not ready. All indications are Nelson to the rotation on or about June 1. I’m not saying they should put him in the bullpen. But who knows what the brewers are really thinking in regards to Nelson’s future all of this year?
  9. Since the 3rd of May we have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. And getting better. And one of the ways it will improve moving forward is by having starter type arms that can pitch 3+ innings of quality baseball to rest the high leverage arms. And that is what is happening, with Peralta now in the pen. With another replacing Houser June 1.
  10. I don’t think I’d use Barnes and High Leverage in the same sentence...unless if it’s for he should never be in them. I'm not sure Anderson automatically goes to the pen. He stunk in the pen so far this year, but thrived as a starter. When Nelson comes back, he might be the pen arm. I'm not so sure on Jeffress as a high leverage arm just yet. His lastest outings haven't been very good even though his velocity looks to be back to normal. Burnes seems to have found a home and Guerra is steady. It’s gonna be interesting to see what the crew does when Nelson is ready. I believe 60% chance Anderson to the pen, but we’ll see, I also believe jimmy could dominate out of the pen. To me, Jeffress looks dominant again, and I believe even more importantly CC believe’s that also. Agree that Burnes belongs in the pen THIS year. Guerra more than steady, he’s now one of the best pen arms in baseball. Stuff, demeanor, he can shut down a team for one two or three innings, rare bird.
  11. Bullpen now has 4 high leverage arms Counsell loves, Guerra Burnes Jeffress Hader. With Peralta able to pitch 2-4 innings, Houser needs replaced by Anderson when Nelson is in rotation. CC doesn’t trust Houser like he does Chase, so that would be two arms that could pitch 3+ innings or 50-60 pitches. That would rest the high leverage arms, keeping everyone fresh. That’s the missing link to the superpen.
  12. Cubbies blow 2 run lead late, lose to reds in 10, 6-5
  13. Guerra can close it out. Burnes and Hader tomorrow. Bullpen is now officially a strength.
  14. Yes, definition of a high leverage arm. Looked like peak 2018 jj.
  15. Jeffress not messing around tonight. Looks fantastic!
  16. Jeffress stuff as good as last year, high leverage here we come!
  17. Back to back 96, breaking stuff sharp, HE’S BACK!
