  1. They have a deep, strong bullpen. Second in all of baseball strong. Not gonna be easy to score off of. bullpen putting up all zeroes on us... See it wasn’t easy but we did it!
  2. After another terrible outing today, I think it's time to send Burnes down and work on getting it right. He has an 11ERA and just loses it mid inning. He's nowhere near what he was last year. Let him go down, not have the pressure of the big leagues, and work on his fastball location and his off speed stuff. I'm not so sure about Anderson out of the pen either. Early results have been awful: 5 games - 10 IPs - 11 hits - 5 ERs - 4 BBs - 3 HRs. We'll see soon. Pitching fine the way it is. Burnes can work out his minor location issues here not San Antonio. He’ll do great moving forward. Anderson is also a fantastic weapon to have pitching for us whether it’s in the rotation or the bullpen.
  3. Encarnacion is making close to $22M this year so Stearns is going to take on $11-12M plus $5M for next year. I don't see Stearns putting out another $16M or more for a rental. Aguilar isn't as bad as many are making him out to be. Way too much money for a rental. Aguilar is worse than he’s being made out to be. His ONLY tool is gone, slugging .300. And in addition to that pathetic number, when he gets on base he hurts the team TOTALLY CLOGGING the bases with his turtle/sloth like jogging. He and Shaw have cost this team at least 5 wins min. This team at some point is going to need much much much more production out of first base. Maybe it’ll come from Thames/Aguilar > I don’t think it will < maybe it’ll come from Shaw and Hiura > probably not both. So that leaves a trade. Farm system not strong, we should be looking for quality high priced veteran players we can get for little prospect capitol but lots of salary. Encarnacion fits the bill perfectly. GAME CHANGING BAT. This team needs pro bats.
  4. I’m sure he’s thankful to just be pitching for the big league team after last Friday.
  5. They have a deep, strong bullpen. Second in all of baseball strong. Not gonna be easy to score off of.
  6. Davies due for a clunker. Shame it’s pretty much over already, with a well rested bullpen.
  7. Yes, absolutely should be at the top our list. Great game changing bat that this team needs. Dipoto not afraid to do trades at any time of the season, so the sooner the better. If it’s done now, lookin at 20 mil incl the buyout. Encarnacion + 5 mil. > Aguilar.
  8. We’re just gonna have to win this year with pitching again. Fortunately our pitching this year is better than last year.
  9. Very uninspiring considering they just had a day off. Reds pitching good tonight, Yelichless offense awful.
  10. We might be able to get by this year without adding pitching at this year’s deadline, go offense > first base for sure, Then see if the real Shaw is back. Professional hitter or two needed for this lineup.
  11. Stearns gonna need to trade for a first baseman.
  12. Reds have a great bullpen this year, need to score here.
  13. Puig hurt his side catching a ball and hitting the wall Sunday and won’t play the next two games.
  14. I was half-joking, but flexible piggybacking wouldn't mean you never let a starter go 100 pitches if the match-up is right, the game situation calls for it, and/or many of your long relievers are unavailable. Also, it's definitely possible that they're stretching him out so much just to make sure he's 100% healthy. Speaking of healthy, surprised the crew didn’t have Nelson pitch this next AAA start on 4 days rest?
  15. I understand you believe Burnes has the potential to be a high leverage arm in the pen, but he doesn't currently belong in that conversation until he can straighten out his issues. 14 HR allowed at this point is extremely alarming particularly when he's only started 4 games. Burnes will be fine eventually, but right now he's got to earn a major role back. Agree about Peralta needing to head to San Antonio, though not necessarily in agreement about the trust issues. Don't agree that Anderson going to the pen strengthens the pen. He's been far more effective as a starter. Prior to the fri debacle with Burnes, he pitched great in high leverage this year and last year, CC said as much, let’s not blend together this year’s rotation efforts with his pen outings, especially when friday’s Outing a bit different than his usual appearances, down 3 as opposed to ahead or tied or maybe down 1. Look for CC to bring him in high leverage, moving forward. I hope Peralta stays in the pen, so hoping your right about CC not losing faith in him. The potential for Freddy to pitch in relief like he did in last year’s playoff vs the dodgers > 3 ip 0 h 0 bb 6 Ks is worth him being multi-inning arm right now. Anderson should do fine out of the pen, now that he has a little experience pitching multi-inning. Imo both he and Peralta could be real weapons and exactly what this bullpen needs to stay in even more ballgames and rest our high leverage arms.
  16. This. Adrian Houser and Jordan Lyles are very similar pitchers, both have FBs 94-95, both have big curve balls, Houser has an option and makes 2 mil less.
  17. After watching the weekend series vs the Braves, a couple things stand out to me: Peralta needs to pitch in SA, because he’s not gonna pitch out of the brewer bullpen. It’s painfully obvious CC doesn’t trust him, or he’d have pitched him at some point this past weekend. Same with Houser, except he can be the mop up/long man in CCs pen. I Also believe we need 1 more high leverage arm that CC can trust to go with Guerra Jeffress Hader, and that arm is Burnes. He’s proven last year and prior to Friday’s debacle that he can be that 4th arm to shut down the enemy. I believe Counsell agree’s. Finally, when Nelson returns, he should go to the rotation and Anderson to the pen, which initially will strengthen the pen, giving CC a multi-inning arm that he trusts, which this bullpen desperately needs, and the potential of jimmy giving us another big time quality starter.
  18. Drew Rasmussen could be showing the brewers front office that they don’t need to trade for or sign a high leverage reliever after all, that They already have a dominating pen arm this year(think starter long term)rocketing his way up the crew’s minor league system. In less than 6 weeks low A to high A to AA. Today they let him throw 16 more pitches than any previous start: 4 ip 1 h 0 r 2 bb 6 IF he keeps this up and IF the brewers need him we could see him in Milwaukee before September.
  19. 67 Pitches!!! 4 ip 1 h 2 bb 6 ks 16 more pitches thrown than any other start this year. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about a brewer pitching prospect.
  20. My guess/Hope is houser not Burnes to AAA. If not houser then it’s Peralta. CC said Burnes will be given another chance.
