  1. This team really isn't very good. It's basically Yelich or bust. Agree. If the team won’t/can’t manufacture runs and Yelich not going off, they don’t score except for solo hr or two. This team is gonna have to pitch it’s way to the playoffs, which I think it will do.
  2. Hiura had a 2 hit night in his debut against a starter throwing 90-91 mph. Since then he's faced pretty much nothing but guys throwing mid to upper 90s. The batspeed is there, the timing isn't yet with that legkick against velocity - the fact he's punished offspeed pitches in the zone the handful of times he's seen them is a good sign. I'd look for them to try and get the legkick just a bit less pronounced to give him the extra milliseconds needed to catch up to the increased velo. I'd rather have Hiura needing to make this adjustment than looking ok on fastballs but being completely off balance and getting fooled against offspeed consistently. Agree. Timing is off on good FBs. I like that he can hit breaking balls, ala Ryan Braun.
  3. Let’s see how long Murph leaves woody in today, the way he’s pitching I hope it’s til it’s over.
  4. I believe Stearns needs to get another first baseman by trade. Neither Aguilar or Thames is the answere.
  5. Thames AB’s have been sporadic, I think with consistent playing time he’ll do better than a powerless, sloth like Aguilar.[/quot Thames isn't going to get anything close to consistent playing time unless Aguilar get hurt. Thames is a strikeout waiting to happen. Last year 40% or the time and so far this year 45% of his ABs have been Ks. I think the Crew is looking to move him in a salary dump. Don’t like Thames either, but going with the lessor of two evils here.

  7. Enough of Aguilar starting vs righty’s, without power, he’s hurting the team team clogging the bases. Let’s see what Thames can do with lots of ab’s. This team needs a healthy productive Travis Shaw. No two ways around this one. Hiura looks overmatched against higher velocity, maybe he’s just Nervous, but it is concerning. Think Stearns has work to do at the deadline, we need a professional hitter added to this lineup. First baseman. Unless Travis Shaw goes off.
  8. This team needs a healthy, hitting Shaw. Thames should be in the line-up vs righty’s. Aguilar without power hurts the team. Stearns might need to work at the deadline for professional hitting. Stearns needs to sign kimbrel after the draft.
  9. Braves have the quality starter arm in their pen, Newcomb that can throw 2-3 innings, shutting us down. This is what we need. Peralta could be one but CC won’t pitch him, yet anyhow. Houser another but CC not trust him either. Very confusing.
  10. If CC doesn’t want to use Peralta in this game because we were ahead by a run, then he should have used him in yesterday’s game in the 6 th down by 3. He could have finished that game, saving burnes for high leverage where he belongs. Confusing last two games.
  11. Unfortunately it’s become the M/O of this team. We are one of the top two tree teams in the NL to this point. That is an M/O I can live with. Thank Yelich Hader Davies for the decent record.
  12. I know we’ve played a lot of good teams with good pitching, but this brewers offense is not good. Outside of home runs, too many hitters with bad approaches. Not sure it’s gonna get better, might have to pitch our way to the playoffs and hope Yelich carries the team on his back again.
