  1. - RHP Jose Nova assigned to ACL Brewers from DSL-Brewers1 The 6’5” Nova is something of a mystery man, originally signing with Boston in 2021. He recently turned 22 and is yet to play in an MILB game
  2. 21-year old RHP Patricio Aquino needs to right his own ship (11 ER in last 6.2 IP), with High-A Wisconsin seeking a 2-0 series lead at Quad Cities. DH Luke Adams has been hit by pitch in 6 consecutive games.
  3. It’s safe to assume RHP Tyler Woessner’s 2nd outing for AAA Nashville will go better than his first (8 ER in 1.2 IP). CF Chris Roller returns from injury as the Sounds aim for a 2-0 series advantage at Durham.
  4. 19-year old RHP Bishop Letson (1.04 ERA with 11 Ks in 8.2 IP) gets his first game action in 10 days, looking to lead the Mudcats to a 2-0 series lead at Fayetteville. 20-year old RF Reece Walling (.703 OPS in 133 ACL PAs in 2023) makes his season and Low-A debut.
  5. Thank you for this. Won’t instituting ABS help solve this? No more framing needed.
  6. AA Biloxi aims to grab a 2-0 home series lead over Montgomery. RHP Bradley Blaylock (1.50 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 6.8 K/9 in 24 IP) gets the early start. CF/1B Ernesto Martinez has hit safely in 7 of 8 games.
  7. Being healthy seems to suit Wes Clarke. And with Tyler Black promoted and the fact we’re never calling up Francisco Mejia, we might as move Clarke move to AAA. Just a thought.
  8. Manuel Rodriguez is through 6 shutout innings on only 52 pitches. What an effort! And Yophery Rodriguez (not related, I swear) has just smacked a 3-run homer to right to finally get some breathing room. 4-0 Mudcats!
  9. That’s 12-straight retired by Manuel Rodriguez to start the game in Fayetteville. The Mudcats have 5 hits, but just 1 run to show for it thus far (Yophery single knocked in Guilarte - single, SB).
  10. Yup, a switch-hitting utility player who ended last season with a 41-game on-base streak. Sigh. Good luck to him.
  11. LHH Bauers - $1.35m - 78 OPS+ in 73 PAs SH Toro - $1.28m - 133 OPS+ in 118 PAs
  12. The High-A Timber Rattlers welcome 1B Tayden Hall to the team as they face a road series against Royals’ affiliate Quad Cities this week. LHP Tate Kuehner makes his 3rd start (5th appearance), though it’s been a struggle (7.82 ERA, 2.18 WHIP, 13.1 K/9 in 11 IP).
  13. What a change 2 days makes!: AA Biloxi welcomes 3B Brock Wilken and DH/C Wes Clarke back from injury as they host Rays’ affiliate Montgomery this week. RHP TJ Shook (4.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 10.6 K/9 in 23.2 IP) aims to bounce back from a rough start last week (5 IP, 5 ER). Yes, that’s 6’6”, 250lb Ernesto Martinez in center field in light of CD Rodriguez’s injury.
  14. After 1 1/2 rain-outs over the weekend, Low-A Carolina’s pitching staff is well-rested. They play at Astros’ affiliate Fayetteville, NC this week, with 18-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez (3.15 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 8.1 K/9 in 20 IP) getting the opening game start. Blayberg Diaz (.721 OPS) gets a crack at 1st base after Tayden Hall’s promotion.
  15. Per the above commentary, the AAA Sounds play at Rays’ affiliate Durham this week. LHP Aaron Ashby got today’s start and DH/C Eric Haase returned to action (last played April 30). Today’s 10-inning afternoon victory had a bit of everything: the teams combined on 17 runs, 28 hits, 5 double plays, 3 outfield assists, 5 homers (2 by Brewer Hicklen).
  16. - C Eric Haase activated by AAA Nashville from Taxi Squad
  17. A promotion AND an answer to the “Where’s Walling?” question. Terrific!
  18. Rivera conceded 3 runs in 3 innings, then handed the rock to 18-year old Venezuelan RHP Ismael Yanez (4.12 ERA with 26 Ks in 19.2 DSL IP last year) who’s making his first stateside appearance.
  19. The ACL Brewers didn’t collect their first hit (a Pedro Ibarguen single) until the top of the 5th inning, when they already trailed 4-1. Ibarguen also had the sac fly in the 2nd inning drive in their only run thus far. …but he’s picked off here after his single. Chris Roller has walked, been hit by a pitch and flied out. He’s also stolen a base.
  20. No Brock Wilken. Is he headed straight to Biloxi? No 1B Johan Barrios or OF Reece Walling? Are they nursing injuries?
  21. Another night, another Nicaraguan starting pitcher making his stateside debut for our ACL Brewers, this time 18-year old RHP Bryan Rivera (3.57 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 10.7 K/9 in 53 DSL IP in 2023) as they play at the ACL Reds: 1 - Ibarguen - RF 2 - Roller - CF (rehabbing) 3 - Bitonti - 3B 4 - Di Turi - SS 5 - Alastre - 2B 6 - Luis Lameda - 1B (ACL debut) 7 - Ordonez - C 8 - Holguin - 1B 9 - Gomez - LF X - B. Rivera - P
  22. - OF Chris Roller sent on rehab assignment to ACL Brewers by AAA Nashville - RHP Kevin Herget’s contract selected by MLB Brewers from AAA Nashville - RHP Janson Junk optioned to AAA Nashville from MLB Brewers
  23. Yeah and it looks like Nashville will get OF Chris Roller back soon. Nashville will be keeping fingers crossed to avoid infield injuries until Monasterio is optioned back to them (e.g when Yelich returns) or Arroyo returns from injury.
  24. Based on Murphy's comments during Spring Training, I think he has great plans for Gasser (and Junis when he returns). I think that we might as well get Misiorowski to AAA to see how he fares with the ABS system - will his walks decline or increase when the strike zone is strictly enforced?
