  1. Interesting note from Scully. Braun is hitting .220 from the 7th inning on.
  2. I can't get on CarGo for that one. He hit it hard and Uribe made a nice play.
  3. Deuces wild...2 on, 2 out for our 2-hitter. Come on Car Go, surprise me!
  4. I think it looks that way because he's not wearing a long sleeved shirt underneath. I thought it looked goofy too.
  5. It's really weird to think Scully is 83 years old. The guy is sharp as a tack and definitely still has passion for the game.
  6. Keep runnin' him out there in the 2-spot, RR. How many times does Gomez have to burn you there before you wake up?
  7. Way to take one for the team and help that OBP Gomez.
  8. Vin Scully basically reads a more advanced media guide profile on each player as they bat. It's like he recites the "fun facts about Player X."
  9. Exactly. I want to like this guy and think "superstar" but I keep seeing Mr. Up and Down. Can't make it thru the 5th without getting in trouble. I'm having a tough time seeing what all the hype is all about. I'm starting to believe that his ERA last year might be more indicative of the type of pitcher he really is.
  10. I think the only reason they didn't bring Sean Green back is he has given up 5 runs in 4 innings and they couldn't justify it to the media/fans if they re-called him. My guess is if he pitched 5 innings and gave up 0 ER, he'd have been their guy today. With how RR used him this season, I know he was a personal favorite of his.
  11. Is there a reason DeFelice isn't being given a shot? Is he hurt? The last I checked, his minor league stats looked good...and two years ago for the big league club I was impressed.
  12. Yost always has his "favorites" and I'm seeing it already with RR. RR's top 5: 5. Sean Green 4. The sacrifice bunt...no matter what 3. Carlos Gomez as #2 hitter 2. Kameron Loe 1. Mark Kotsay
  13. The best thing about RR's hiring is it came with a 2-year contract. Which obviously means after year 1, you either extend him or you make him a lame duck manager. With the roster he was given and the improved pitching, he's definitely on the hot seat from Day 1 with high expectations. It's playoffs or bust this year for him. If you're Attanasio dishing out this type of payroll money, your patience level is very low.
  14. Has anyone had the chance to see Gamel play 1B this year or read anything about his defense over there so far?
  15. The only move I disagree with is bringing in Loe again. It seems like the guy pitches everyday. Other than that, from the starting pitcher to several relief pitchers, not a well executed game from the bump.
  16. Just poor execution from the guys in the bullpen today. RR can only put out there what he was given to work with. These guys get paid to get hitters out. They didn't do their job (understatement I know). The RR hate baffles me sometimes.
  17. 7 run inning? This is getting laughable. Not to mention the 22 hits given up. Yay for the "improved" pitching staff this year. Edit: 8 runs and 23 hits. Whoa.
