  1. Can McClung hold for a third...I see rough waters ahead mateys
  2. Unbelievable, Billy Go sit back down and crack open a beer for your hard day's work
  3. Of course, seeing that "Due up: Gross-Rivera-Counsell" doesn't do much to inspire confidence
  4. Maybe I'm an insane optimist but I think that Ankiel out was huge for our prospects today--I still have this crazy belief that this offense can muster 4 runs
  5. That whole AB looked awful on the ump's part--extremely inconsistent.
  6. OK Prince, pick him up here 4th inning already, sheesh
  7. An uninspiring couple of innings for the offense so far
  8. I've drank too much coffee this morning I think, I literally pumped my fist here at my desk after that double play. Thursday mornings with the Crew--terrible for productivity.
  9. Did you copy and paste this from last year's vent thread? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif It seemed like last year we'd get the bases loaded with no outs or one out and then squeeze just one run at best out of it. This of course, would most often happen in early innings where we already held a lead and would come back to bite us in the 7th or 8th inning. I'm sure that stats don't bear out that it was an epidemic, but man it sticks in my craw.
  10. My friends in Chicago tell me they see dudes dressed as samurai in the bleachers at Wrigley all the time these days and once even saw a couple girls dressed as geishas. This makes me wonder if when Lou Merloni or Kapler went over to Japan there were dudes dressed as cowboys or GI Joe (or rabbis!) in the stands.
  11. Well, what I was trying to do was make two separate statements in one, but failed. I do think the records so far don't indicate much, but I guess I was also trying to point out that at the least, the team does have a winning record--can't have my cake and eat it, too.
  12. 8-6 is the record the Brewers had at 14 games last year. It's winning baseball. This despite the offense being anemic and missing one of our starting pitchers and one of our starting outfielders. We've taken two road series against teams that should be contenders this year and swept a team at home that we should have. 11-4 is a gaudy number and is so small it signifies nothing. Get off the ledge, buddy.
  13. Back on the horse...hopefully we get the first Manny and not the second Let's get that ole Budweiser, boys
  14. I'll probably get hammered for this but to me they look like talented losers. Talent keeps them in games but the losing mentality of this organization is still too much to shake. They couldn't hold a big lead last year but I think that was more indicative of immaturity and maybe even youthful panic than loserdom...I think it's gonna be really interesting watching them this year since the potential of a wire-to-wire pennant race is relatively high--they seemed to respond well to that last September save for the first part of the last week. If they get 5-8 games back by late June or so and they respond by crawling into a shell, then maybe you can blame the "mentality of the organization." Great strides have been made. I'm not freaking about a couple 2 game losing streaks.
  15. I know it's early, but I despise being behind the Cubs in the standings.
  16. Fox owned the rights to it though--that's the problem. If they're not going to air the games they own the rights to in the region they're in, they oughta free those others up (I know, leverage, etc)
  17. Sure would be nice for Kapler to give us a miracle off the bench if JJ gets on
  18. Chad Moeller just got his third hit of the night to put the Crew's offensive drought in perspective.
