  1. I'm dreading the idea of Dessens toeing the rubber tomorrow in the 6th inning as he's our rested guy. I highly doubt he'll be with the team by Saturday, but at this juncture he could do some damage.
  2. I'm surprised it's that close...of course it always seems much worse than it is (although there is room for improvement on both ends).
  3. I absolutely love the intensity from the crowd tonight. I just got done watching tonight's highlights on the Brewers' site (no Jenks' homer up yet, argh), and yeah, they were something else. Sounded like a playoff crowd on Hall's ribbie and Damian getting the tag on Delgado.
  4. I just remember when the J-S did a "Where are they now?" in 2002, he was "Whereabouts Unknown." Glad to see he's alive...I don't know about well, though. His catch in the playoffs is a Top 10 Brewers moment for me. On the other hand, I have almost zero memories of Doc Medich that year.
  5. Now that I see Flea will be there, I kinda want to jump on a plane!
  6. I'm just proud that I didn't reduce myself to ESPN.
  7. It was pretty disappointing people couldn't follow the rules for an evening. Again, it's not disrespect or civil disobedience or whatever...people here are naturally inclined to discuss the game, especia;;y one like this in this particular situation. If they needed a night off, just shut the whole messageboard down--this place will never be a senior citizen's gardening forum, but it's also not somethingawful.com, either. Respect goes both ways.
  8. Same here...I've lived in Chicago and San Francisco the last several years, and the IGT is really a great resource and outlet.
  9. I want to agree but the old RISP impotence raised its ugly head again (how's that for a mixed metaphor) Fantastic game for the pen's confidence though, and I really hope the Crew can get some mo from this...Glavine was a monster.
  10. Way, way too many stranded runners tonight
  11. "Rockin'," of course, being a relative term http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  12. Better lock this one, it contains refernces to the baseball game that took place between the Milwaukee Brewers and the New York Mets on July 31, 2007. The IGT should be rockin' right now.
  13. Geoff Jenkins did not get traded today. Thanks old pal, hope we can see you in the playoffs.
  14. Sup and the pen turned a corner tonight...maybe? Please?
  15. I'm just not sure what the mods were or are expecting with this...people come here for inteklligent discussion about the Brewers, with the IGTs being a big draw. Of course people are going to want to discuss a big, exciting game in a pennant race. It's not a question of "respect." Most everyone here agrees a good job is done here. Beyond that, it seems like every other person here is "staff," so why don't you guys do shifts if you need the night off? As someone who lingers in 98% of the IGTs, I'd say the vast majority of people here are very good at self-policing, and those that do bicker get dealt with pretty quickly and by a multitude (see the Prince of Roy thing in the Gagne trade thread--it was a mod dogpile). It can't be all THAT difficult. If it is, mod me, I'm willing to help. As for the "No IGT" thread, if I had thought it was going to be taken seriously, I would've voiced my opinion that it was a terrible idea. It was unfathomable to me that bf.net would actually have no IGT.
  16. This place for a long time was a refuge from the idiocy of ESPN, etc. They still do a very good job keeping things intelligent and fresh around here, but this kind of stuff is nearly as frustrating as dealing with cro-mags elsewhere.
  17. Ah, thanks...that's the thing with Gameday...all I got was a "Foul Tip, Strikeout"
  18. Maybe this thread will get locked for me asking, but what was the bad call tonight? I can't watch or listen tonight. And I'm with those who think the human element is too important to the nature and ugly beauty of the game to bring in instant replay, despite what I perceive as a lot of benefits.
  19. Seriously, respect the wishes of your fellow posters. Seems like my fellow posters here want to talk about the game. But whatever. For many of us outside of Wisconsin, the IGTs are pretty beneficial. But whatever.
  20. Don't make this a substitute IGT, or it'll be locked. God forbid Brewers fans would want to talk about an importnant game
  21. You think lavine might be buzzed about it?!? Holy smokes.
  22. Why not put Wright on there
  23. Weird game for a no IGT night...the ban is working its magic.
  24. My only complaint about these gimmicks is that they should be voluntary. I had a post deleted a couple weeks back because it wasn't in Jeopardy format, even though the game had already been over for 20 minutes. I mean, who cares? The stuff is meant to be fun...imposed stuff is rarely fun.
  25. I'm not venting over someone else's vent here (far be it for me to talk) but it was kinda funny how jaybird either contradicted himself or changed his mind about Doug's effort this trade deadline within half an hour.
