Looks like Suppan handled that last Bonds AB about as well as he could have. I wish Bonds would've bit on that 2 and 2 but no harm done. I'm all for Bonds hitting a ncie meaningless jack in the 8th tonight and sitting down the rest of the weekend, but I'm OK with him stranding runners, too.
To be fair, five games is a decent amount of ground to have made up in the last month But yeah, the way they're playing you'd think they'd be up 3 1/2 games by now
How long did it take Ramirez to round the bases? Is he still sitting out there with binoculars and a mirror, narrowing his eyes slightly with a wan smile, admiring his artful handiwork?
Glenn Danzig, formerly of The Misfits This was my red herring...I kept thinking the guy he inspired was in a jam band or electronic act judging the by drug name and the way the dude looks these days I actually saw Blue Cheer play last year, too
I called him the Hebrew Hammer in an IGT once but because of this http://home.att.net/~Buzzxsassy/Images/the-hebrew-hammer.jpg I didn't know it was a real nickname for him. Kinda makes me uncomfortable to be honest.
Not to sidetrack further, but Peeyourpantsforthebrewers.com had a pretty funny exchange today that reminded me of rluz and people on the board sometimes:
In addition to what Peavy wrote, one of the funnier things today was guys on messageboards using other messageboards' threads to show that "the Brewers got Dunn."
Ultimately, these are businesses, and if you can't get business through wins, you've got to get it through something else. At this juncture, Bonds' chase is the Giants' biggest commodity.
Honestly, is it really worth sacrificing potential wins to create a slight buzz at a couple home games? "Slight buzz," huh? The Giants have pretty much built their seasonal promotion around this. Now that the season's pretty much in the tank you can imagine Bochy would be getting leaned on heavily.
