  1. Thanks guys, looks like Gameday has updated itself to complete the current ugly picture Anyway, a 2-run lead is easier to swallow than a 6 run lead, why isn't anyone up yet
  2. Bah, Gameday's going haywire on me again, I don't know WHAT is going on And that's probably for the best...
  3. I'll take the out there although part of me was willing to trade a run for a DP with Johnson and Teixeira coming up
  4. Save for the Ramirez walkoff on Friday, it's kinda nice to see that the scripts this past week flipped from what the usual was earlier in the season....the Brewers have looked like they're about to blow leads in the 9th inning a couple times but then don't, the Cubs have dramatically threatened in the 9th and then choked-up and failed to win three times on my count this past week...makes me think the fates aren't necessarily completely on their side. Five back for the division, 1.5 back for the WC with three months to go; considering how awesome the Cubs have been and how good the Cards have been and how crummy the Brewers had been, I'll take it
  5. Big Ben's words speak volumes to me: I think that despite the fact he will test the market, there's a good chance that Sheets gives the Crew as much a "hometown discount" as feasible for him and his family given this is likely gonna be his last best massive payday. It sounds to me like he's mostly reacting to terms dictated by the team right now. I think he likes being "the man" here, is ready to lead the charge to a title for the team that drafted him and that he's seen and help grow into a winner first-hand, wants to see #15 right next to #19 and #4, appreciates the stability as a husband and father, and there's nothing about him that makes me think he'd want to go to a huge market. If it's not enough for both sides to work something out, so be it, I understand why he'd feel he needed to do it for his family, and I understand why the Brewers feel they couldn't or shouldn't throw Fort Knox at him, but I do think it'll leave a massive gaping hole in the rotation and a bruising injury to the Brewers' chances at a title next year. Anyway, some of the jsonline's commenters, who really scrape the bottom of the barrel, seem to think dominating curveballer aces fall off trees: Holy smokes, when will these people learn.
  6. Man oh man, another handsome workman-like victory from Big Ben, the kind I'm starting to take for granted, for better or for worse. The Brew Crew needs this guy.
  7. I agree, I wouldn't pay money to support a club that treats its fans that way; despicable.
  8. Couldn't happen to a better set of fans. Now wonder they want to come to Milwaukee: nicer seats, nicer amenities, and the team respects its customers enough not to pull shell games on them.
  9. Your kid should watch out...to top it all I've heard Culver's has some real up-and-coming fry cooks in their system knocking on the door. Anyway, interesting article. I seriously looked into becoming a clubhouse attendant a couple years ago but thought that I'd really end up hating the work itself, despite the cool atmosphere.
  10. And then I woke up around 4 AM in front of the computer, looking at this post before crawling into bed My vent: the internet should have a breathalyzer. Hey, it was my birthday!
  11. It's a fine line between the vent thread and the drunk thhread Herer I am all the sam.... Gues where I want to be I'm not sure myself,
  12. That'd be the ultimate Brewers road trip for me...forget San Diego or St. Louis!
  13. A friend of mine in Chicago said he just heard on the Score that he's gonna be OK and won't miss another start
  14. All I know is he is one clutch son of a gun

  16. Annnnd that's what happened. Due to a "schedule change." Lame.
  17. This was supposed to start at 2:30 CST but he's yet to show up...half an hour ago the moderator said he'd be 15 minutes late! Oh well, after the new contract and his performance thus far he can stand us up as far as I care
  18. I thought the batter had to commit but I don't know the Atlantic League rules
  19. Busy week for Ricciardi. Interesting that the Brewers were the final nail, especially after the Jays' 9th inning rally yesterday. I've always been somewhat surprised that Gaston hasn't popped back up somewhere before now.
  20. ...ridiculousness ensues From a Staten Island-Brooklyn minor league game last night. The pitcher sure wanted to have it both ways here (no pun intended)...what's good for the goose is good for the gander, pal.
  21. Fantastic game; they said on the Rays broadcast that Crawford's Grand Slam was only the Rays' second swing of that inning...this after a run had already scored. That it came against Marmol, who was laughing before he came on, was even better. I love me a Cubs meltdown and the sadness and anger and disappointment on the faces of snowbird and transient and traveling Cubs fans who thought they were gonna "take over" an opposing team's stadium for three games but got swept out of town instead. The Rays' TV people obviously relished it, too--some great shots of the remaining Cubs fans who had the guts to stick around for the end (few and far between) and a great rant from DeWayne Staats.
  22. He only made two total...I'm not saying they're legit, but in the guise of the article, he ignores similar issues/concerns about the juggernaut Cubbies
  23. I didn't think it was a cheap-shot and I'm one of the bigger proponents of celebrating the '82 team. Wherever I live or travel, when it comes up I'm a Brewers fan, people want to talk about that team: people around the country really love(d) them, regardless of what happened in the end (and you'd be shocked how many people think they won it all that year...they've definitely outlived that year's champs--who were they again?-- in memory at least). Anyway, tangent aside, no cheap-shot, but a friendly dig.
