  1. Regarding MrAllen's post. Let's say it happened. It would add $66+ million in salary this year which is almost what we are expecting for our total payroll. But Story and Gray are free agent's at the end of the year and you would then have Arenado and a couple of arb eligible guys in Freeland and McMahon. If MA decided to go for it the only long term money is 6 more years of Arenado. Wouldn't it be nice to at least think this could happen?
  2. San Diego has been mentioned as a likely trade candidate for Hader. They have a real need in the bullpen and plan on contending. The prospect I am wondering about is CJ Abrams. SD has Tatis and Cronenworth at SS and 2B and Grisham (grrrrrr) in CF. Abrams has no place to play and is projected to arrive in the majors in 2022. We could trade/non tender Arcia. Let Urias play the entire season to get him experience at SS. In 2022 we will have the DH for Hiura to slot into. Abrams and Urias can be your middle infield . Thoughts?
  3. Tend to agree Turbo. Unless you remove some salary thru non tender. LaStella and Santana would look nice in our lineup.
  4. Sveum has a good point. Prospect ratings are almost as accurate as presidential polls.
  5. Sorry. Yelich was 7 points higher.
  6. Even in a down year his OBP was .349. I think that would have led the Brewers.
  7. I will be amazed if he is back.
  8. I think it is $4.5. Will there be someone out there who can do what he did for less than that? I’m guessing there will be. Should be a crazy offseason.
  9. I just don’t think Hader gets traded. Bullpens are the key to most teams and especially the Brewers. Maybe at the trade deadline if they are out of it because they have no offense.
  10. I think money wise in Bestintheworld's proposal it would work even in a Brewers reduce payroll situation. Save money on Pina Arcia and probably Braun. Insert Nottingham or Feliciano as the RH catcher platoon. Urias for Arcia. If you sign La Stella you don't sign Braun. Haven't done all the math but think it would fit. Gyorko would backup the corner IF spots. Just not sure the Twins want to trade Kiriloff.
  11. Well Sveum said I should use wrc plus.
  12. Ok. WRC plus. Brewers 2018. 99 Brewers 2019. 97 Brewers 2020. 89 Notice a trend?
  13. Brewer team batting average 2018 .252 November 3, 2018 Brewers hire Andy Haines. Brewer team batting average 2019 .246 Brewers team batting average 2020 .223 Notice a trend?
  14. I am of the opinion that Braun will be back next year. Sign a contract somewhat above the option buyout. Where else do you find a bat like that for a couple of million dollars?
  15. Turbo I think you are correct in what you said in your post. The only way we stay competitive for a playoff spot is a Hader trade for some bats. I think our pitching is good enough but we have to be able to score runs much more consistently than we did this year. The thing is the Central doesn't have a super team so we can hang in there.
  16. Hader and Arcia for Bohm saves a bunch of money and fills a big hole at 3B. Dodger trade you get a major league ready 1B/3B guy, their top prospect who is a pitcher and a couple wildcards. Braves trade, if you get two major league ready starting pitchers you do it. The wildcard guy doesn't fit but there are other guys to put in there. Of the 3 proposals I think the Dodger one is the most likely to happen because I'm not sure the other teams give up those players.
  17. LA certainly has the young guys we can plug in to our lineup. It should be an interesting offseason again in Milwaukee.
  18. Would the Braves be a possible trade partner? Melancon’s contract is up. They have talent that would fit our needs.
  19. I would agree La Stella is getting more than 3/10. But there are other guys to be had for that money to fill the role. Andujar is a project, there would have to be some high level prospects in that deal. But overall this deal seems to improve the team without costing a fortune. If you take the Pillar and Richards money maybe you can find a regular 3B guy?
  20. Regarding Nate's trade idea. Not saying this is the exact trade to make but this is how the Rays are one game from the World Series. Trading assets for young guys that they have properly evaluated and winning those trades. Andujar? Sure there is not a lot to like there but with 3 years of control and a big hole at 3B. Could you find something there. Dominguez? Top 50 ranked prospect at 17 years old on MLB site. Clearly a talent. Gomez? Has done nothing but improve, is 20 years old with a 2022 arrival date in the majors. Again, not saying this is exactly the right mix but this has the potential to get 2 major league talents and a project for 3B. Scouting and evaluation are the keys to making a move like this.
  21. I think it could be any number of outcomes with Gamel. He could be brought back, traded, DFA'd (doubtful). Just depends on what else they do.
  22. Of course any trade with Seattle might have to include Seager. But with a hole the size of Lake Michigan at 3B the Brewers should be happy to get him in any deal.
  23. So what does a Hader trade look like with Seattle? They have 6 guys in MLB's top 100. Kelenic, Rodriguez, Hancock, Gilbert, Trammell and Kirby. That includes 3 pitchers and 3 OF's. Plus some highly rated guys below that including Noelvi Marte. How many of those can you get in a Hader trade?
  24. I saw today on MLB Trade Rumors that Seattle/Dipoto hopes to add several relievers this offseason. Seattle has more than enough young talent to entice a trade from the Brewers/Stearns. These two have made deals before so there is some history. What say all of you?
