  1. Has Suter done enough to be considered for the rotation next year?
  2. Seager also has an option for 2022 that says if he is traded the option becomes player option that has a value of $15 million. That would have to be figured in to any money sent to Milwaukee. He is 32 right now but having a productive season. If the Mariners paid down enough it would seem something could be worked out. I agree with Eye Black that there is little to hope for in the Brewers system at 3B unless they move Urias there.
  3. Now Pomeranz is out/hurting. Let the rumors run rampant.
  4. I just don't see the Brewers trading Hader as long as we are in line for a playoff spot. Bad PR for the club if you did that. Is he more valuable to another team right now than this winter? Could be, but then the deal has to really be good in order for the club to explain it to us.
  5. Given our record and the 8 team playoff scenario Hader more than likely is not going to be traded till after the season if at all. We have some young arms that are looking good but he has the experience. Plus I don't think any offer after the season will be much different that what is offered now. It is much easier for Stearns and company to trade him when we are not in a pennant race. Nice to see that the Cubs lost the first game of the double header and are behind in the second.
  6. I think the Crew is in good shape with it's roster makeup. The games are going to be really different with no fans but we will take baseball in any form right now. CC gonna have to manage his butt off. But he is up to that challenge. Go Brewers!
  7. The OF looks even better if Hedbert reaches his ceiling both offensively and defensively. Plus defender moved to RF because of Mitchell in CF. Yelich in LF and Lutz is the DH.
  8. If he stays in CF, and it looks like he will, he won't have to hit for a lot of power to have value. Diabetes is a bad thing, reminded of Dylan Covey.
  9. Will he sign for slot or is he a below slot pick?
  10. I'm afraid he is Corey Ray part 2.
  11. Ashby Burnes Hader Houser Knebel Lauer Peralta Rasmussen Woodruff Urias Hiura Feleciano Narvaez Garcia Yelich Close to the list Suter Lazar Cain Lutz. Really would hate to lose Suter. Lauer would be my one to drop.
  12. I think there is risk with both of them. Neither has a lot of major league experience. Alvarez only had 10 games in the OF. Will be DH eligible in some leagues. Hiura a high BABIP. But all Hiura has done is hit no matter where he has played. Plus is eligible at 2B which is not as deep as the OF. And will steal some bases for you and Alvarez will not. My money is on Hiura in the short term at least. Wish I had him in our league.
  13. But isn't the TV contract due to be renegotiated soon?
  14. 1981. Dodgers win the World Series over the Yankees. Brewers played 109 games. The rest of the teams were around that number but it wasn't an equal amount. The season was split into two halves. The team with the best record in the NL, St Louis, did not make the playoffs because they didn't win either "half" There is no asterisk by the Dodgers for that World Series. This would not be unprecedented, it has happened before. I get that we all want it the usual way but I don't think it lessens the final result.
  15. I don't think there will be 7 inning games. The baseball purists would argue against it. Not sure I disagree with them.

  17. It would be very hard for the Brewers to trade young pitching.
  18. So I started this thread and I was wrong. Great for the Brewers and their fans. I think Hader still gets traded but hope not and we get to watch these guys for a long time.
  19. They still stubbornly refuse to address the rotation outside of absolute bargain-basement deals, and without Yasmani Grandal, their lineup looks like Yelich and a whole lot of wishcasting. This from an article on MLB.com by Richard Justice.
  20. I am maybe more optimistic than TJ about our starters. I think Burnes and Peralta both become what we hoped last year. Along with Woodruff and Lauer/Hauser that is a potentially really good group. Mix in a couple of those young guys and we could be very happy. Kelly could be the TOR arm we long for. Coach them up and we are in for a good run. Then having traded Yelich and Hader for young bats makes an awesome mix.
  21. If this shock is at my post I am not trying to be negative. Just realistic about the chance we have of signing Yelich to a long term deal. We couldn't sign Grandal this offseason so what makes anyone this we could sign Yelich? If it is directed at the comment about the Holt signing so be it. This is the world Brewer fans live in.

  23. Somewhere in this thread was the post that we are clamping down on current payroll so that we can extend Yelich. You can forget that. It is not happening. One of the best players in MLB is going to get a contract that the "poor" Brewers can not afford. But hey, we did sign Brock Holt! He is a great fit for our system!

  25. It might be next offseason or even the next but there is going to be a time when the the Brewers will have to decide to restock the team by trading these two great players. I don't like it but the time will come. But the question I pose today is what do they get in return and will it be enough to reload given our young core players such as Hiura Urias Woodruff Turang Peralta Burnes (looking for a bounceback for the last two) and more. What type of package would it take for the Brewers to trade either one of them?
