  1. Yoho is light years better than Kuhnel & Koenig ... hope he stays in Milwaukee throughout the season. I understand our starting pitching is impacted by rest for Miz & a minor (I pray) injury with Harrison, but Bryce Wilson is a "short-term" solution at best.
  2. Cleveland traded for Matt LaPorta ... Brantley was a "throw in" who just happened to become a great MLB player. LaPorta's father-in-law is a good friend of mine (he pastors a church just north of Tampa). Unfortunately, LaPorta never "hit" a an MLB player, but he was a dynamic HR hitter at Florida when drafted by Milwaukee.
  3. Spending $22M on Woodruff was not enough “risk” so now we add another $6M to try to replace our savvy veteran. This feels similar to the Rosenthal & Montgomery/Miller trades of previous seasons. Hopefully this one pans out well. Curious to see if Gordon can replace Koenig who looks washed.
  4. My word … I certainly hope they don’t send the Astros Tayden Hall and/or a Manuel Rodriguez
  5. What an odd acquisition. This reminds me of the Jordan Montgomery trade last year. I’m curious if the “other player” was the goal here - but his stats are awful too. McCullers is still on the IL. He had one good start at the beginning of the year but he’s been dreadful ever since. I’m wondering if he’s close to pitching again OR if he will be released soon. Not sure how this benefits Milwaukee this year.
  6. I think Chourio is a very good but not a great player. He may not reach the super star level that was projected for him. He’s very talented but I haven’t seen growth & progress since he joined the big league team. His stats are consistent but not dynamic. Maybe this is who he will be.
  7. Both Murphy (health issues) & Yelich (poor performance) need to step aside for a bit rather than coach & play everyday. They’re doing us fans & their team no favors. There are others who could do their jobs well in their absence.
  8. This series & especially today irritates me because we lose games - including the lead over Chicago we worked so hard to get, our run differential is impacted, we no longer have the best ERA or fewest runs allowed … all because we decided to rest guys & play as if the games don’t count. Why not push through when staring at a four day break. Makes no sense. Just a complete disaster to close out the first half. For me, this series takes some of the shine off the great season to date. It also reinforces to me that we should not go all in & trade prospects for short term help. There are a few good NL teams that could cause us trouble in the playoffs. We have no chance to beat LA this year. I hope we play hard in the second half, win the division, give it our best shot in the playoffs, & plan for an excellent decade of Brewers baseball once some of our top prospects join the parent team.
  9. I would stop watching if Weeks takes his place
  10. Murphy would be wise to address all his health issues (hip, shoulder, knee, back surgeries), fully recover, & return when he is able to be alert & lead the team. He’s not being brave … rather he’s being foolish & is hurting the team. Everyone is replaceable - including Murphy. I’m confident in one of our coaches to step in should he take a leave of absence.
  11. Is this team good enough to “forfeit” a game like today … even this series? What happened to our “win today” approach? Why does a 21-year old SS need to rest before a four day break? This is a terrible way to end a successful first half.
  12. Getting swept in Pittsburgh … both games very winnable While our record is amazing, this team isn’t playing well as we come to the break I hate to end the first half without momentum The future (as in beyond 2026) looks promising … I’m curious to see what the CBA negotiations do for Milwaukee
  13. Again, this decision by Murphy is questionable. Vaughn has less power due to hamate bone being removed. He’s slower & poor defensively. Ortiz crushed his last at bat.
  14. Another reason I don’t want the Brewers to “go big” at the trade deadline: Why trade away top prospects (5-6 years of control) for a short-term arm or bat IF Murphy continues to shove Yelich out there to leadoff as our DH. That decision alone will keep the Brewers from getting past NL contenders (especially the Dodgers) - no matter who we acquire via trade.
  15. Ortiz deserved better Brewers with no luck today Hope Drohan can get another inning (or more) & depart today with a quality start
  16. Glad he’s not hurt Glad he got HBP I had zero confidence in Yelich there with two outs Hopefully, Chourio can get us the lead here
