I can’t stand the way Murphy manages in game pitching decisions. I seldom if ever agree with him. Otherwise he’s a swell guy with a big personality. I honestly love many things about him … but good grief on pulling effective starters too soon.
I’m going to watch college football & check back in a bit. I fear we may fall behind late because of his premature removal of Priester.
Hope I’m completely wrong.
Why can our starters only pitch six innings? That frustrates the stew out of me. I honestly don’t understand why you pull a pitcher who has only thrown 85 pitches & allowed one unearned run … especially in a tie game with a taxed bullpen.
Just a thought … may be a dead horse subject … Yelich would help this team so much if he became our LH option at first base in 2026 along with being one of the DH options. He would be 1.5 years removed from back surgery & would give us far more roster flexibility.
I need to look at the actual roster … too many pitchers on IL … not sure who gets removed or when
I like Grant Anderson more than McGee
I like Patrick & Gasser more than Fedde as a starter
When Megill returns - hopefully soon - not sure who is removed
Will Lockridge join Hoskins on the big league roster in September?
Other than Gasser, what pitchers might be added? I assume McGee will not return this season.
What value does Berroa actually have on the 40-man? I assume he would be the next one DFA’d if we need the spot.
What other players are bottom of the 40-man roster who could be DFA’d?
I was a little surprised by Dunn, but he’s older & had a bad year … or two.
I hate the way Murphy manages the game as far as pitching changes
Why on earth was it necessary to pull Peralta after 95 pitches?
Ashby has allowed as many baserunners in three batters (no recorded outs) as Peralta allowed in six innings
This is ridiculous
Nolan Ryan threw 150 pitches a game for 24 years
Surely, Freddy could throw 110 once in a game where he is dealing
I don’t like so many things about modern baseball
This is exactly the pitching performance we needed from Freddy tonight. I hope Murphy trusts him for the seventh inning. We need to rest our bullpen whenever we have the opportunity.
How many six & seven inning games has he pitched this year? He is supposedly our staff ace. He’s had a very good year, but he doesn’t go deep enough into games & throws far too many pitches.
I may be alone but I can’t watch Freddy pitch. I mute my audio, glance up & check the count every once in a while, hope he doesn’t walk batters, pray he gets through the inning, then I unmute & watch the offense
