Yelich batting lead off is simply stubbornness by Murphy that is costing his team early outs. This is the one thing that irritated me about Greg when he was our manager. Apparently, Yelich is chummy with the manager & their friendship clouds their reality that he is no longer a good MLB hitter. He will dip under .700 OPS today. He should play every other day based on his current performance. There are more deserving bench bats available to DH. I’m grateful for his history & contributions over the years but he’s no longer a great hitter. He’s not even a good hitter. He’s a below average hitter. He’s certainly not a lead off hitter.
