I like the Brown and picks proposal best if we can than flip Brown. I wouldnt mind Franz Wagner as a centerpiece in a Giannis deal however I dont think the Magic have enough to add to that to make it work. I also like a deal with the Heat that could involve some combination of Ware, Herro, Jacques, Wiggins, and Jovic with picks. I am also really routing for Wemby to destroy the Thunder the rest of the series. There could be an interesting trade with the Thunder if Wemby wrecks them and they need someone to matchup with him (Hartenstein FA). Jaylin Williams, Ajay Mitchell, and picks???

HS arms worry me but a guy like Bumila would be really hard to pass up. He does sound like Misi but bigger with a previous arm injury. -
Could JP Crawford be an option? The M's have Colt Emerson and Cole Young as long term SS options and a whole at 3B. The M's are 3 games under .500 and I wouldn't expect them to fall out of contention or sell. However maybe we could piece together a 3 team deal to get them a 3B and we get Crawford. He is hitting .210/.358/.364 with a 111 ops+, he is at least metrically getting poor grades as a defender this year but has been a solid defender at SS his entire year. It would be a cheaper way to get a solid upgrade. We get JP Crawford, Mariners get Brett Baty, Mets get Brock Burke and a pitching prospect from the M's
-
Abrams would be a no for me, he is a bad SS and is hitting very well but way better than carerer norms andwould be a candidate to struggle at some point this year. Also he will have 2 years of control that will get expensive quick and I would suspect it would take Pena and 2 of our best pitching prospect (other than Henderson) bare minimum to get him. Buxton is great and would fit extremely well but that price is still probably weak in my estimation especially when there will be a dozen teams going after him if made available. I don't have a problem going all in but the prices will be steep. I think in all likelihood we probably add our normal reliever and maybe a depth piece somewhere else. Our farm is so strong that I wouldn't go nuts to deplete it. If we could get one big bat I think I would be over the moon. With Bauers hitting so well I kind of wonder if maybe we explore him playing LF on a closer to daily basis, that would be one way of strengthening the lineup. I would expect Jett and/or Pratt to help 3B/SS as well.

I feel like there were plenty of posts about try to get Preister to sign a Freddy/Ashby extension but not much about signing him to big free agent year at 20+ million. His strikeout rates weren't good enough that anyone was willing to go big for him. I think in general it seems like the front office strategy is not to pay pitchers long term. I don't mind that one bit especially given how important every dollar is. Just think about what we could do at the trade deadline if we weren't paying Woody this year.

Minnesota gets Giannis and Caris Levert Detriot gets Jrue Holiday and Julius Randle Portland get Jaden McDaniels and Duncan Robinson We get Isiah Stewart, Ron Holland, Scoot Henderson, Donte Divencenzo, 2026 Minny 1st #28, 2028 and 2032 Minny, Pistons 1st's 27 and 29, our 2029 own back from Portland and put protections on both swaps we gave top Portland say top 8 protected. We get 2 upside young players that haven't been great but need some run way and a decent vet (Stewart, I think Divencenzo is hurt all year), 5 or 6 picks including righting some of our Dam picks. Detriot gets a 2nd scorer for no major parts. Portland gets a big upgrade in McDaniels, out of Jrue's bad deal, and a Robinsons shooting. I am not a huge fan of this to be honest, Scoot and Holland still could be good players but aren't guys I would build around. There are a lot of picks but none are great except getting our Portland picks back. To be honest, I am not sure Jaden McDaniels is the guy to get them back as proposed. My guess is that a Minnesota deal would need to look like something similar to this. B-

Payne's power has been a revelation, the coach in me wants to say that if they can fix his base and get balance through his feet there should be even more power in the bat. However with his youth and current success I would be worried about changing to much. As of now he is on pace for close to a 30/30 season at 19 which is crazy. Any word on a possible Pena eta. I know he is cleared and we expect him at some point this week?

I was reading and took a look at 2 young HS prospects who just reclassified and will be extremely young 17 year olds. Jared Grindlinger P/OF His scouting report looks like he will be an easy choice to be a P, ranked #49 by mlb.com but 12 by espn. A 6"3" lefty up to 95 sitting 90-93 turned 17 in April with solid projectable secondary pitches. Rocco Maniscalco SS He seems like a Brewers type of prospect if I have ever read a scouting report. He just turned 17 on May 1st. His dad played in the minor and coached his travel ball. At 6'2" there is a frame to add power but for now he grades very high with his arm and fielding. The Brice Turang vibes are undeniable and I am pretty sure he will be the youngest (or close to it) player in the draft. #72 mlb and #56 espn -
Brewers (Misiorowski) vs Cubs (Brown): 5/19/26, 6:40pm

I think bringing up Jett wouldn't mean one of those guys needs to get sent down. Jett can play IF and OF so Perkins could go down. Jett could be slowly easied into everyday work at SS or 3B and mixed into the OF to keep his playing time up the 1st couple weeks. I don't remember where the super 2 general date falls (I know it changes year to year) but if that is within the next month or so it might be smart to be patient. -
Can we agree as Packers/Wisconsin sports fans to come up with a better chant then the Chicago "F@#* the Packers" chant. They started it at various points during the Brewers game ,it just seems so white trashy and collegey for a pro-sports chant it probably only gets super drunk Packers fans (probably alot) on tilt. Can we come up with higher level chants that actually have some intelligence to them. Chant Ideas "40 years" last time the Bears were good Chant random Bears QB when Caleb Williams makes a bad throw ala "Rex Grossman" or "Mitch Trubiski" "Indiana" (maybe not real smart but would piss Chicagoians off) Thoughts

Agreed, he has 15 HR in 40 games 260/319/580 for 146 ops+, even if you assume he misses 20-30 games he is going to hit 30 HR maybe 40. His contract at 16 million a year is a steal even if you assume he only play 120-130 games. The Mets are paying Bichette like 50 million this year and Buxton is/was better than him the past couple years. He was worth 8.5 WAR the past 2 year in 228 games and is on pace for around 6 this year. With 2+ years left he probably has like a 10-12 WAR projection, with his contract he probably has around a +50 million dollar value for trades. That type of value should get 2 top 100 prospects and a decent 3rd piece (maybe 2 decent extra peices if enough teams are interested). Is there reason to be concerned with injuries, for sure, but if he is healthy at the deadline he will have a ton of teams interested and a good value.
-
I think it would be a great year to go get a big bat maybe an OF masher. As of now Buxton would be the only potential option unless the Angels eat like 25 million a year for Trout. Can we think of any top tier bats who could conceivably be traded that would push us to that next level? We've mentioned Pena, Abrams, and Buxton enough.

Whoops the website I looked must not have updated. The do have there own picks from 28' on but that does complicate that move.

Brewers (Gasser) vs Twins (Ober): 5/17/26, 1:10pm
jay87shot replied to Frisbee Slider's topic in Archived Game Threads
I didn't watch the game but why was Woodford in for the 8th. With Patrick saving the bullpen Saturday I feel like there should have been better options. Even Drohan has proven to be a better option than Woodford in a 4-3 game. -
Wilson had all but 2 players in the lineup over .200 batting average, that is a huge step up I think they had a game last week where only 1 player had a batting average over the Mendoza line. Hopefully Ebel is putting things together with the other young guys in the ACL they will really give a boost to the lower levels. That outing by Hardin is also really refreshing, the top pitchers in the org. seem close but just can't get right. Hopefully that is a start because Hardin's stuff has looked really good.

What about Utah? They have young players, Laurie, and future picks. Them getting Jaren Jackson points to an all in. Obviously they would need Giannis to want to sign there which would be iffy. Laurie, Filipowski, Collier, 2027 1st's better of Utah's or Lakers (top 4 protected), 2031 Suns unprotected 1st. Trade Markenen to Detriot for Duncan, Robinson, I Stewart, Ron Holland, 3 1st 26,27, 28 (try for a 4th or maybe a couple 2nds) That would be 5 potential 1sts, 3 nice young guys and 2 vets we could still flip or keep and trade Turner.

Since Jett is more versatile I'd go Jett, Rengifo and Ortiz have been a little better so I doubt the organization would just ditch them. When is the usually super 2 cut off that could possibly play into Williams call up? This is around the time we agreed Misi was ready but the team waited to gain super 2.

Of the teams mostly likely to sell I think the Angels and Rockies fit that description at this point. The Giants, Mets, Astros, Tigers, Toronto, Baltimore, Royals, and Red Sox have the talent to turn things around but it is looking like at least a couple of those teams are going to have bad years. I would put the Twins, Nats, White Sox, and Marlins as teams that are slightly over achieving and by the deadline there is a good chance they will sell. The Rockies don't have much but I could see a couple pieces on the Angels being interesting Jose Soriano's price is probably too high at the moment, Zach Neto would be awesome but with our minor league guys wouldn't make much sense, Oswald Cabrera is having a nice year but isn't reliable based on his past. I do think Reid Detmers could be a Brewers style target. He has a 4.38 ERA but his FIP is 3.29 and the stuff resembles Harrison to a degree. If we need a starter he makes sense however if he could get like 2 more mph by being a 2/3 inning reliever I think he could be way more effective. He is pretty cheap and has 2 more years of control.

I know it is really early but who would be the leader in the ACL for a promotion to Wilson? Probably a quastion to re-ask in a week or two. I don't think it was mentioned but Lara walked 4 times bring his year total to 27 walks and 22 strikeouts.

Lara is decimating AAA, he has is a gold glove potential fielder and 40+ base stealer. The potential lockout shouldn't be a reason not to promote the best player for the job. I get he hasn't shown power in the past but he has always had good plate disapline and bat to ball skills. .340/.436/.524 7 HR (12 xbh) 15/19 sb 23 bb 21 k's With that high end defense and 172 plate appearances I don't see any reason to wait. Especially with Lockridge out and Mitchell struggling as bad as he has.

As long as the Cubs don't get him, they will be a perfect Freddy suitor when the Mets decide to sell.

What would it cost now to extend Miz?
jay87shot replied to TwinsBrewersWorldSeries's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I don't feel like Misi really over throws, look at guys like Randy Johnson, Verlander, Scherzer, and Nolan Ryan they threw upper 90's until they were at least 40. Some guys are just built to throw hard, with Misi's length and absurd extension there are some things working for him. His velo is unprecedented so yeah he is probably at a little higher risk. I think maybe we need to start worrying a little more about his workload instead of velocity because he will likely be on pace for around 200 innings with a high of 130 last year. Everything to this point looks good but if that arm gets over worked come August or so he might compensate and then that is where he will get injured. -
Jesus MadeLuis PenaLuis LaraLogan HendersonJett WilliamsCooper PrattJosh AdamczewskiAndrew FischerBraylon PayneMarco DingesBlake BurkeJeferson QueroDylan O'RaeBishop LetsonJosh KnothJD ThompsonTyson HardinEthan DorchiesColeman CrowLuke Adams Made and Pena are easy 1/2. Lara with the power output probably should put him as a top 50 overall prospect. Henderson has shown a high floor probably a top 50 guy until he graduates soon. Pratt and Jett still are top 100 prospects but have been disappointing in AAA. Josh A and Fischer should be borderline top 100 prospects but have flaws. Payne, Dinges, and Burke arent to far behind but need more consistency. I dropped Quero because I dont think he will be elite defensively. O'Rae comes out of nowhere and has made himself a notable prospect. I dont know what to think of our pitching so I grouped Letson, Knoth, Thompson, Hardin, Dorchies, and Meccage together because I believe in them but they have all been pretty disappointing. Adams get 20 because he is still young and has the tools but has been pretty vanilla in AAA. I left Drohan and Gasser off just because they are 27 but both would have likely ranked around 15 for me. I had to think hard about Encarnacion and Anderson but both have a long way. I am hopeful that we will see a couple of the ACL players sore and be in the next edition of this.
