  1. Was this headline after the game? I'm just asking; I've also had enough of the recent spate of ellygasms by baseball media.
  2. This is even sweeter because all the baseball media talking heads have been gushing endlessly about those awesome exciting unstoppable Reds. I guess we dumped a keg of beer on the fire (after drinking said beer and then.... well, you get it.) <end of gloating; beat the Phils!>
  3. Have we seen enough of him for awhile?
  4. PTI: That Caretaker thing is worth it. yep
  5. Amen. (But I'll take a 1-0 win any day.)
  6. I'm amazed. Consecutive 1-0 wins. And over a hot divisional rival? (I didn't say "red hot".) Don't pinch me.
  7. Nothing really new, but it seems an apt summary (with props to CC): Q: Can they make the playoffs with the lowest batting average in the NL? Hey, this is the NL Central we're talking about, so yes. It might only take 84 or 85 wins to win the division, and the Brewers can do that even hitting .232. Of course, we know batting average is hardly the way to measure offense, but they're also last in OBP and slugging. What's remarkable, though, is that the Brewers are seven games over .500 even though Corbin Burnes has been mediocre (for him), Brandon Woodruff has made just two starts, Eric Lauer is in the minors and Freddy Peralta has a 4.70 ERA. How the heck are they 49-42? It really feels like they should be 10 games under .500 instead of just a game behind the Reds, so kudos once again to manager Craig Counsell.
  8. Thanks for the reminder that the strike zone is 3D. I've occasionally seen a 3D graphic of the zone, but not often. BTW, Cricket has some nerdy video devices that baseball could earn from, including friction sensors that can tell if a ball grazed a bat or a batter.
  9. I would have bet all the money in my pocket ($17) that you were right!!
  10. If you had told me we'd win this game 1-0, I would have asked you to pass the bong. AMAZING!
  11. If Elly had done this against anyone else, I'd definitley dial up the highlights. But not when he makes us look like chumps.
  12. I certainly don't know what CC thinks. But it seems like he's experimenting with some marginal bullpen guys to see if any of them have the right stuff. Some of them don't, and that hurts. Maybe he'll stop giving guys dangerous chances and settle on guys who will help us win in the 2d half. Just my guess.
  13. Aside from maybe the Yankees and any team from Texas, I don't think I really hate any team, But I have "disliked" the Reds since the Big Red Machine days, when all of my family were Reds fans (Johhny Bench being from our state of OK) and I was the lone frustrated Dodger fan.
  14. I hate that that is true when he's doing it at our expense.
  15. I'm sure we'll hear a nauseating amount of praise over this latest jewel in De la Cruz's crown. bughghghgh!
  16. I do love the scientific data-based analysis!😁
  17. I saw Yeli was at bat, but I got distracted; then I saw the score jump up to 4-1 and I knew Yeli had done it! I weep with joy (well, not literaly but I'm pretty darn happy!)
  18. It all boils down to: We Can't Hit.
