  1. It's odd to think that a person could like local commercials for stores or services you'd never be likely to use! But they're interesting because they reveal a lot about a place.
  2. A simple laugh is not enough to show my appreciation for this post. 🤣
  3. Whatever else one can legitimately criticize about the 2023 Crew, we just swept the team that was our immediate division rival for 1st place this week. That can't be all bad. I missed almost all of the game, but I'm going to replay in on MLB audio (without the zillion ads for birddog shorts and blue nile fake diamonds.) 😶
  4. I think I hate baseball now. I went to law school to avoid all of this math! <IRONY ALERT> 😁
  5. Perhaps a valid opinion. But all you need to do is get to the dance.
  6. Not saying this will happen, because things are not at all pretty. But here's a reminder. The 2022 Phillies had a record of 87-75 and finished 3rd in the NL East And yet they.... Won NL Wild Card Series (2-0) over St. Louis Cardinals Won NL Division Series (3-1) over Atlanta Braves Won NL Championship Series (4-1) over San Diego Padres Before losing the World Series to Houston in 6 games I'm not giving up yet; it's only June.
  7. Go figure. Looked really good until it went really really bad. I might vomit. Nah. Tomorrow is another day.
  8. As to other matters: I'm happy for Andreew McCutchen to have a day in his town. He wasn't the guy for us, but he deserves good.
  9. Too little; too late. Swept. At HOME. By the worst team in baseball. Ain't no bright side here. How pathetic; how embarrassing. Nothing but SHAME. Time for a gut check in the clubhouse. Maybe time for a gut check on the board as well. I'm PO'd, truly, but when I screwup this dinner I'm cooking tonight, the game won't matter as much. Bye for now! See you next time.
  10. Gosh! No offense intended. Not telling you how to think. Just saying things could be worse.
  11. Mediocre and disappointing. But you want horrid look at the As. A bad team (except against us) and their city is losing the team. Yeah. This team is consistently frustrating. But don't lose perspective.
  12. To put it another way. The weather recently is terrible. But the forecast is TBD. But we really need to beat these guys! Our batting is pathetic.
  13. OH. Never mind! That was a dumb post. Nonetheless, the Twins are not a great team, and they are clobbering a team with a better record than we have, So baseball is still baseball, and as unpredictable as my memory. 🙄
  14. I deleted most of this because it was stupid. But I'm still PO'd that we don't have a reliable offense! The A's tried to give us yesterday's game with little league throws, but failed to accept their generous offer. blechch.
  15. I'm the newest of newbs, but even I know that.
  16. and the poor showing testerday seems pretty OK after all
  17. Or if your Spanish pronunciations ("el MON-hay"?) are as dodgy as mine, just try "The Monk."
  18. One thing about the new rules that encourage stealing: You need a catcher who can THROW. Do we have that? I propose that we did not have one today.
