  1. Not every gripe or venting of frustration should be translated as "the sky is falling." Sometimes it just means "the weather really stinks right now," which it does when we get into these offensive doldrums, losing 2-1 and wasting a great pitching performance against a mediocre team. We have the right to be happy when we win and unhappy when we lose. Isn't expressing those feelings (and even occasionally overreacting <gasp!> ) why boards like this exist?
  2. Not to nit-pick, but the bullpen giving up 2 (two, aka "a couple of") runs should not cost you a game when the starter goes 7 shutout innings and strikes out 10. We need guys who can hit (or women who can hit for that matter); it's actually just that simple. It was a shame to lose today. The good news is that it was just one game.
  3. I don't see them getting very far in WC or divisional round unless they can consistently generate some kind of offense. They won't be playing the Reds and Pirates or (thankfully?) Cubs. 19 runs and a walk-off do not an offense make.
  4. Unless he comes in with lead in the 9th, I worry (sometimes I worry then but not a so much.) I'm no fan of excessive specialization, that's what he's good for: 3 outs at the very end.
  5. 3-4-5 hitters: 1 for 11 with one (intentional) walk. Adames hitting .207 at #2
  6. Just pathetic. Burnes throws an absolute gem and NO OFFENSE to help. A 2-1 loss is never a surprise, but it still stinks.
  7. I've been a Brewers fan for just a few years. But in that short time, I have come to see a 2-1 loss as typical and predictable due to better than average pitching and a punchless offense that seldom comes through when it matters.
  8. Normally, I'd say sacrifice. But not with the top of the order due up. That was just as good anyway
  9. It seems like we need walk-off magic or to score 19 runs, with little in between.
  10. Another pitching gem WASTED by our pathetic offense. (OK. So we still might win, but Burnes is cheated of a W.)
  11. At least we'll get out of it with this impending DP.
  12. C'mon, y'all. This is all FUN! (Except for 2 innings of nail-biting over a 1-run lead.)
  13. I'd settle for a weakly hit ball that lands for a hit.
  14. What the heck is Hiura doing out there!?! Fire CC!! <irony alert>
  15. We shoulda saved a few of those 19 runs from the other day.
  16. I hope we at least score our usual pair of runs.
