  1. I'll admit...I've called for Perkins to be sent down when Canha was added. Glad I don't know anything 😀
  2. Nasty Devin (with a little help on the low strike calls)
  3. I could really get used to at bats like that from Canha
  4. Assuming this is for a modest return, I like the deal. Now time to get greedy and get one more bat in the next 100 minutes.
  5. Big hit for Monasterio. Not sure when the clock will strike twelve for him and the glass slipper turns back, but just got to keep enjoying his contributions while they last.
  6. Oh, I know. There was a reason I listed it 3rd and why I made sure my wife wasn't over my shoulder as I posted. 😀
  7. Thoughts on what the corresponding roster move will be? A. The easiest is to send Perkins to AAA B. Or, is it time to jettison Tyrone Taylor with another RH bat added to the mix C. Or, do they delay the move by sending Joey Wiemer down for a couple of weeks (work on his approach and get an additional year)?
  8. Please tell me that Toro won't go back down when Santana is added tomorrow.
  9. Agreed completely. Would now like to see them find a RH bat to serve as a DH with some position flexibility to play somewhere on the field.
  10. I like the move - not a huge move but in line with Arnold's comments of not wanting to effect the defense. Assuming Santana at 1st nearly everyday?
  11. Don't forget Jahmai Jones as a 26-man option (and a 40-man as well I guess)
  12. Or is it just clearing a spot for for a 60-day IL guy (Justin Wilson)?
  13. How many Frelick shirts are being sold tonight at AmFam?
  14. This is what I keep coming back too. Bats that are available are either going to be at too steep of a price or not enough to move the needle for us. It's why I keep wondering if we instead look at AAA bats that are blocked and hope that we can get a couple good months from them on their call up. Maybe that is Hiura; maybe it's from another team.
  15. Hoping the rain and lightning ends quickly here in Nashville so game will still happen for us tonight.
  16. What a great weekend for our first trip to Cincy! My family and I made it to Friday and Sunday's games while watching Saturday night from our Airbnb. Going in, I was curious if the Cincy fans would be "over the top" with the Reds or of the mindset that this run is happening earlier than expected so just sit back and soak it in for next year. It's definitely the first. Fans all treated us well. Only small issue was on Friday night when the loud guy behind us kept saying, "Sit on Burnes' awful curveball and send it BYE BY!" Said it every pitch in Elly's second at bat and on the strike out, my son shouted "BYE BYE" to the enjoyment of the Brewer fans around us. On to Nashville now for my first time seeing the Sounds.
  17. My family and I traveled to Cincinnati to watch the first place showdown this weekend. After viewing game 1 of the series and seeing that we were starting Monasterio and Miller at the infield corners (I know it was supposed to be Anderson at third, but still), I'm even more ready to find a 3rd/1st/DH addition in the next two weeks. The sooner the better. My preference would be J. Turner, but I don't think the Red Sox will move him as they hope to add to stay in the WC race. I'm afraid J. Candelario is headed for a bigger price tag than we want to pay. This leads me to blocked AAA-type player. I've brought up Bobby Dalbec before and think he would be an interesting get to see if his stellar bat at Worcester can carry over for a couple of months in the bigs. Any other options of similar player would do. Maybe a deal with Boston to get Adam Duvall and Dalbec to add two bats. Duvall has really cooled off since his wrist injury, but sounds like he is available as Boston looks to buy and sell.
  18. Surprised that I hadn't heard Stearns has already left for the Mets. "But if the Reds think they might get the same break from an unforced front office from Stearns this time around, they should think again. For two reasons. First, Stearns is now in New York, delivering his hits and errors for/against the Mets."
  19. Unless I miss counted, don't think Rowdy is eligible to return until Saturday. Can't see them playing a man short for Friday night's game. My guess is Tyrone Taylor called up before Friday (playing one man short on the infield - Monasterio as the only backup) and then add Rowdy back on Saturday with either Perkins or Tapia being the odd man out.
