  1. Hawing Yes it is a sad day in the house today. Hoping everything done today turns out for the best. (Not sure what I'll wear to the game tomorrow...one more day of the Hall jersey as a send off to Bill?)
  2. Same thing for 620wtmj.com. The GreenHouse on now, but promising to go to the press conference when it starts. The Big Unit just mentioned that they will also have "an exclusive with Doug Melvin following the press conference."
  3. Hawing My wife and I reacted to the M*A*S*H* theme as well (great minds think alike). We had hoped that a Tuesday night game would end the "Sunday Plus" ugliness. As of now, we don't have tickets again til August 28th, so all fans should be happy as I do my part and stay away from the team for awhile.
  4. Back home tonight after a full day of travel. The final leg, the flight from Chicago to Milwaukee offered up a nice bonus. Sitting in front of us was Negro League Hall of Famer Carl Long on his way to sign autographs and throw out the first pitch at Friday night's game. My son and I spent the 40 minute flight talking baseball with him and listening to him tell stories about Willie Mays and Satchell Paige. Sam listened intently and Mr. Long ended up giving Sam a signed baseball card and allowing us to take a picture of the two of them as we came off the terminal gate.
  5. A little bit of heaven...wake up at 5:30 in Rouen France and see that a rain delay allows me to listen to the end of the game and the familiar voice of Uecker. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Just finishing up night number 1. This is my wife and mine 3rd trip to Paris leading groups of students. My 11 year old passed day one at the Louvre just fine. Tomorrow is sight seeing around the city and then its off to the Normandy region (something I enjoy much more than Paris itself)
  7. My son, wife, and I leave for France in the morning. After being in attendance for the heart-breaking losses on Thursday and Friday; figure our schedule couldn't have worked out better to take a week off from watching the Crew. Everyone here play nice as this will still be the first place I look at when we find wi-fi.
  8. My son got his tonight...he's playing on the basement t.v. while I watch the game. (so I'm sure he will beat me up pretty good when I finally get around to trying it)
  9. Ah, bensheeps, you know I think of you now every time Bill succeeds.Unfortunately...that hasn't been too often. This is getting a little too close now.
  10. Hall now 3 for his last 3. Hawing...guess I need to keep the jersey for a little longer. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. Depending on the date, my wife and I would make the trip.
  12. As they say on eBay: A+++ Will probably buy again! We got 10 tickets in Field Level - Outfield for $19. SUPER Deal! We are teachers, and it allowed us to take a vanload of recent high school grads to see a game. Seats were great. Girls got to ogle and holler at Braun (who seemed to acknowledge them from time to time) and my 11 yr old, who came too, got to go down in between innings and beg for warm-up balls. Even called a couple days b/4 the game and was able to get one more ticket - only one row away. Jake was easy to work with, and replied timely to my emails. The games have been listed early enough for me - usually at least a month ahead of time. I think this will be a great way to supplement our 20 game pack, and maybe invite some different friends to the games. I noticed that there aren't a lot of weekend games, but I totally understand. Great deals, good service. PERFECT in my book! From: bensheeps better half...
  13. There was a little slice of face time for bensheeps' son (and bensheeps' jersey) during the 7th inning stretch. Yes, we did see you. My son caught the small time on the video board (as did my wife in the concourse) during the stretch, but to be honest, I missed it as we were trying to see if the hawing group was looking up at us. Agreed about it being cool in the shade (my 3 year old didn't like it at all). Think my wife and daughter spent more time inside then in the seats. Our usher mentioned in the 6th that she was glad she had a coat; I told her we will be happy to be in the shade come July and August (I hope).
  14. Everything you need to know can be found on the Brewers website, under MILLER PARK, MILLER PARK A-Z GUIDE, FRIDAYS. You can download the seating chart from there and it shows all the prices. We got a table of 6 on the homerun porch for $498. It includes $228 for food and beverage. It works out to $83 per person, with $45 for the ticket and $38 for the food. You can also get tickets over the bullpen. Most of them are tables of 6, but there are a couple of 4-tops. If I remember correctly, it is difficult to see the "jumbo tron" from the bullpen seats. The tables inside are considerably cheaper ($280 for a 4-top, not sure how much is food/ticket), but just not the "full" experience of a Friday's table on game day. Marquee games are ridiculously priced. $690 for a table of 6.
  15. Actually, my wife ordered our tickets today for the Cardinals series in July. I'll have her post the particulars later.
  16. Hawing's call about the Hall jersey is dead on. She is also correct that the Dew Deck was a nice experience once.(of course the company was good... after Hawing quit threatening to call the usher on me) Watched the DVR'ed finish of the game after returning home and got another chuckle of the "celebration". Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing another win tomorrow night to see what the team comes up with then.
  17. Just like obsessedwithbrewcrew Bill Hall is my favorite player. I think those of us who favor Billy have a difficult time forgetting the guy who used a compact swing to pound the ball to right-center. In watching Hall during this slump it looks as though his swing has gotten long again (as it has often during the last couple of years). I'm assuming we will see a similar approach to Hall that Macha took with Hardy earlier... a couple of days off and then one more chance for Billy to get going again. Even as a big fan, I feel this may finally be Billy's last chance.
  18. Kind of what I expected from DISH Network. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.
  19. Conspriracy alert... I've looked as the game has progressed and don't think I've notice Hall in the dugout yet. Anyone else seen him? Never mind. My wife is now happy as I will no longer spew consipracy theories. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. Got to admit I'm extremely surprised. Didn't expect this move until later in the season. Nothing mentioned on the pre-game show.
  21. As Hawing said, I will be there with my wife and a couple of friends. I'll probably be in my Bill Hall jersey and next to a Branyan player t. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. We picked one up for my daughter last Sunday. Forgot to bring it along to the game today; realize that the loss today is mostly my fault http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. I think the better picture would be of Macha standing at the corner of the dug out holding his hand up for a high five as Braun walks by high fiving his team mates. Macha held it up there for like 15 seconds even after Braun was like ten steps away. Funniest moment of the year if you ask me. brucrustu My son mentioned the same exact thing as we watched the DVR this morning. We have made it a priority to see what Bill Hall has for his teammates as they come in after a homerun. Thinking Macha's high five (or lack there of) is unfortunately more of what I would get. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  24. We were lucky with our section being 90+% Brewer fans. Walk back to the car was quiet from the Cubs fans save for the one young lady with her "f-bomb" laced rant about the Brewers and their fans. Seemed as though most of the people around us just ignored her. Got to admit, I missed Braun watching his homerun as all the people around us seemed to be joining in a collective high five as he rounded the bases. As an aside...Thought about you a couple of times last night Hawing. First as my wife peered over the club level looking for you as we entered our seat until I told her that you were not making the game. Second, as we drove home in rain that almost made it impossible to see the lines on 94.
  25. I've got 15-13.
