  1. 4-7 on this trip is going to ruin us. We're wasting our "go for it season" because the team isn't mentally tough enough to get over an invisible hurdle and win some games on the road. Poor defense, poor offense, poor pitching on the road into Mid-July, that's not normal to this extreme. And please stop giving up hits on 0-2 and 1-2.
  2. I'm so sick of this stuff on the road. They get cheap hit after cheap hit, meanwhile we hit into line drive outs and double plays. Yo line drive out, Weeks walk, Morgan lines into a double play. It's impossible that this happens every single time we play on the road....but it does. This trip is just screaming for an epic collapse. I hope they prove me wrong but I doubt it.
  3. I'll sound like a moron for this, but that's fine. What exactly is a "woot off"? I know what woot.com is, with the deal every day. I assume during a woot off that they change items more frequently? How often do they change?
  4. Sorry, yes, it's July 30th, meant to say "that weekend" instead of "this weekend"
  5. I'm going to be out of town (stupid wedding!!) this weekend so I'm not going to be able to go to the game. Anyone going to have an extra one they would want to sell? I don't have much to trade, just extras from this year....
  6. Was 2008 the one where he is standing on a block of cheese? I may have one of those at home....
  7. To me it's pretty simple. If we can play over .500 on the road, we're in a very good spot. This seems far fetched though given our problems on the road, even against bad teams. The first 11 games on the road are going to be really tough, if they can go 5-6 or better on that trip and somehow remain near first place.....it could be trouble for everyone else in the division.
  8. It's just frustrating because we have all the pieces in place, yet we're the worst team in MLB on the road. If we were even average on the road, we'd have the division in a stranglehold. Instead, we're looking at going from 3 up to tied in the span of 3 days. I know there are 80 more games, but it's just so depressing for me. This is our "go for it" year and we just seem to be getting no breaks (take the IL schedules as an example) and we just seem to be blowing it.
  9. Anyone else just have the dreaded feeling that this game is already over? 3-0 shouldn't be impossible to overcome, but with the road version of the Brewers, it sure seems like it. We can't even consistently score 2 runs on the road, yet alone 4-5.
  10. I can't remember the last time we got a hit with the bases loaded. I also can't really remember the last time the Brewers didn't strand about 10 guys on base in a road game.
  11. 3 lefties in the lineup against CC. That doesn't seem to bode well. This is where the Lucroy/Wolf situation really turns into a problem. CC is extremely tough on lefties, but Wolf can't pitch to Lucroy for whatever reason.
  12. This is the same management that allowed Wil Nieves to remain on the roster until his averaged dropped to .150. I dont' see them doing anything at all, which is pathetic. This is supposed to be our "go for it" year, and we're not doing that by allowing McGehee to continue to be a liability on offense AND defense. As far as Green concerned, I would tend to think he would get a shot at it before we make a trade. We have very few trading chips and I think we would try an in house option first before moving someone. We have other things I think I would rather upgrade via the trade. Contending teams do have rookie impact players....it wouldnt be the first time a rookie came up in a pennant race and was asked to produce. Pretty sure Hanley Ramirez was a rookie when the Marlins won the WS. Granted, I think he's way better than Green, but it happens all over the place.
  13. He's absolutely killing us in the field too. In my opinion, he is one of the worst defensive 3b in baseball. He has virtually no range to speak of and just seems to make stupid decisions on the field as well. He's providing us absolutely nothing of any value at all. Yet for some reason, not only do we not bring up Green to at least platoon with him, we put him behind our two best players in the lineup. You know, most teams want the player with the lowest OPS on the team hitting 8th or 9th, not us, we like ours 5th.
  14. It seems like with the Japan guys go, a lot of them come over when they have already played 6-8 years in Japan or longer. You wonder if they're wearing down by the time they get here or if they simply aren't as good as they seem to be. As far as the Twins go, it irks me that we play them so close together. You never want to see the same team on back to back weekends, especially in inter-league. Two of the pitching matchups are identical, which I just don't like. Hitters tend to be better the second time around. I guess that favors the stronger pitching, which is probably us, but still. These two series should have been split up a tad I think. Hopefully we can duplicate the success we had.
  15. Anyone looking to go to the Chiefs vs TRats game at Miller Park on Wednesday night? I have two tickets I can't use, I don't have them on me but I believe they are in the second level near the plate. Face is $10 each on them, I'm just looking for $10 for the pair. I can get you exact seat locations when I get home later. edit: fixed day, thanks
  16. They should bring them BOTH up my opinion. Green to stay in place of Counsell/Wilson and play third. Gamel can go back down after the DH series if we don't want him as a power bat on the bench.
  17. Yeah, this is the problem. The Bucks just keep spinning the wheels every single year. We constantly are making trades that don't amount to much. We keep blowing draft picks. We're just stuck in the mediocre rut and we probably won't find a way out of it without completely rebuilding. Which we never, ever seem to want to do.
  18. What's the deal with Ersan? Everyone seems to think he hates it here, but I can't recall seeing those comments anywhere? Did he say that at some point? Leuer seems very similar so it would make sense if he's gone. Wonder if we can get anything for him? He has some useable skills and is cheap...?
  19. Bucks take Jon Leuer in the second round. Not sure we needed another big white guy that wants to play like a shooting guard, but it is kinda cool that they picked a Badger. Hope he proves me wrong. Jimmy Butler also went with the last pick of the first round to the Bulls.
  20. He's reached the end of that leash in my opinion and did awhile ago. He's not Prince or Braun with a track record. He had two solid years in MLB, after not that great numbers in the minors. He's been absolutely horrid this year. He hasn't hit a HR in over a month, has virtually no power and is awful defensively. This is supposed to be our season to "go for it". Watching Casey have poor at bat after poor at bat is just killing the lineup. Let Green have a shot, he really can't do much worse can he?
  21. CBS is reporting this to be true.... I liked Salmons but he was horrid last year. I'm curious as to why we wanted Beno, I guess he's a solid backup PG for Jennings. If that means that we dont' have to see the likes of Dooling running around, I'm all for it. Hard to complain too much, we dropped 9 spots in the draft but with this draft, that's not really a big deal. We shedded a bunch of payroll and bad contracts, plus got the best player in the trade with Stephen Jackson. Now we'll see what happens at #19....or if we stay there for that matter. The analysis on CBS called the Bucks the winners for what it's worth. Be interesting to see if we can now somehow swing a trade with Houston and pickup Patterson or something.
  22. The fact that RR can't simply play a matchup or a hunch in the 7/8 innings is pathetic. The fact that Hawkins hasn't even earned the shot is pathetic too. He's our best relief pitcher numbers wise, and he can't even get into a setup role. yet Loe and his 5+ ERA can't do enough to blow his spot. Price had 70 pitches after 4 innings. He is about to finish the 8th with about 110 or so and is mowing us down. Way to work the counts guys and get one of the games best pitchers out of the game. In retrospect, it wasn't completely Dillard's fault. If Braun makes a routine catch to start the inning, things might be different. That being said, the walk, then the pitch right down the middle were terrible. As it seems to go for the Brewers this season, every mistake we seem to make is hit out of the yard.
  23. Sadly, that's probably right. It's also why we're terribly inconsistent, and we have a hard time scoring runs. If 1-4 doesn't drive runs in, the rest of the lineup simply can't produce any. I guess that's what happens when you fill out your lineup with guys like Betancourt, Gomez, Kotsay and McGehee. I have a very hard time beliveing we can win the division with half a lineup that is absolutely terrible.
  24. Dillard isn't really that good at all, epsecially against lefties. We're in a 1 run game in the 7th. You have a relief pitcher in Hawkins with an ERA under 1, yet he just sits there doing nothing. Mitre was an option too. If at any time the bullpen management comes into play, I have complete faith in RR to make the absolutely WRONG move. He doesn't seem to understand matchups, make changes twice in one inning or anything like that. Dillard in the 7th with 2 lefties due up....completely the wrong choice. Why is it that in every game we play, we seem to have to scratch and claw for every run we get, where other teams just score at will. 6-7-8 for the Rays just generated 3 runs (plus the 2 from the second inning). When was the last time our 6-7-8 hitters even all reached base in the same game? Case in point, our 6-7-8 hitters just produced 3 outs in about ten pitches.
  25. That was an awful, awful route by Braun. Gomez practically came over and caught it and Braun barely got a hand on it. That was terrible. Not really what you want in a 1 run game. RR brings in Dillard with a lefty PH and another lefty due up third. Smart move Ron. Smart move. And there goes the daggar. Anyone other than RR not see this coming?
