  1. This is going to be really, really brutal if we can't find a way to win this one. We're into the soft part of our bullpen here. I don't like this at all. The inability to get clutch hits is so frustrating. We have 5 runs, but we're still only 1-10 with RISP.
  2. Holy Crap. Didn't see that coming. Already had this tagged as a loss. Now please win or it will be even more heartbreaking.
  3. 2 outs, nobody on and an 0-2 count and they wind up scoring in the inning. Unbelievable. Why, WHY would you pitch to Smith there with first base open? He was their only weapon in the lineup right now, first base is open with 2 outs and we pitch to him. Nice managing yet again. Yet another horrible, diffcult and frustrating loss.
  4. I agree. Stupid work and it's stupid policies.
  5. The thing is, that when we let Harang throw pitches, he hasn't thrown that many strikes. He seems to not have great control tonight, but we don't exploit it because we keep making outs in one or two pitches. I think I'm heading to bed after this half inning. This game just seems destined to be a shutout by the Padres. I hope I'm wrong. Another Weeks hack at a ball in the other batters box. Then a single. Why would anyone ever throw him a fastball strike?
  6. They've been good in the sense that they haven't made a ton of errors. They've been bad in the sense that other than Gomez, and maybe Weeks, our defenders probably have the worst range of any team in the majors, both infield and outfield. They might be following the plan and swinging early, but it's clearly not working. Gameplans can be changed....if we had a competent coaching staff that is.
  7. Two more at bats, two more first pitch swings. Both probably should have been outs. This coming right after Harang seemed to have lost control last inning. And theres another two pitch AB. Seriously guys, you're not hitting the ball well, try to take some pitches, maybe walk or get someting to hit. This is absurd. Already with a five and six pitch inning and on the verge of another one.
  8. Braun swung and cringed right afterwards. Whatever it was, they promptly removed him from the game. It sure looked like an oblique strain again, but I have no idea at this point.
  9. Being a little tough on him. Yea he chased low and away, but then he simply didnt catch up to the ball up and away which he fouled off. The strikeout pitch was low and away painting the corners. Not even close to right down the middle. I will agree that he has looked bad the past week or so though.I would hardly say that pitch was at the knee on the corner, it was definitely a strike, definitely a hittable pitch and definitly something you shouldn't be taking with two strikes. He's looked terrible in every at bat this game and is chasing low and away pitches. Braun on the other hand...gets up in the count 3-0 and winds up with a pop up on 3-1. Aren't hitters supposed to have the advantage in those things? This is just so frustrating to watch, I literally want to throw a pillow at the TV. SIx more left on base, no hits with RISP. And great, Braun is now out of the game. Cringed when he swung, eerily similar to the olique injury of last year. Crap.
  10. Weeks is up...5 straight balls. Chases the next pitch two feet out of the zone. Then takes a fastball right down the middle for strike three. Another great at bat for him. He needs a day off.
  11. That's now a five pitch and six pitch inning. It's not like we're lining into outs either. We're not even hitting it well, why not take a few, work the count...oh wait, this is Brewers road baseball.
  12. I care, I just expect that from this team, especially on the road. Leadoff double and we won't score, as usual. One pitch to Casey, doesn't hit it hard or move teh guy over. And there it is. Leadoff double, four pitches later the inning is over. FOUR. FOUR. Seriously, you don't have to swing at the first pitch, it's not a rule or anything. That's a another inning of about 6-8 pitches.
  13. Someone said earlier they were surprised by the long Hart at back. Is that because you're used to our stellar offense having six pitch innings like we just had? From the top three in the order?
  14. I love it how Kotsay has his first good game of the year, and he immediately gets another start. Morgan started the year like 9 of 17 or something silly and he still had trouble finding the field over Gomez and Kotsay (before the injuries obviously). Just saying.....
  15. I didn't unfortunately. I have lost all confidence in this team to actually get sac flys or clutch hits. Especially on the road. Can anyone look up the stats? To see how often we actually drive in the run from third with less than 2 outs? I'd guess it's at about 40%.
  16. And yet another failed attempt with a man on third and one out. You just can't let those chances just fall away. It's almost stunning when we DON'T fail in that situation. Maybe Casey will get a big hit...
  17. It's really nice of the Padres to really hose us with the start time of this game. It really makes me mad actually. The Brewers go out of their way to have travel day afternoon games for virtually every single series, even when the visiting team is just traveling to Chicago or St Louis. Here we are in our furthest destination of the year, and we get to play a night game. Starting at 9pm local time. Our next game starts in 22 hours and we have a 3 hour game to play and a 4 hour flight afterwards. I'm glad the Brewers are classy when we pick the times but if teams aren't going to return the favor, we might as well just start having all night games as well.
  18. Another stellar Weeks at bat to start the game. Take the first pitch strike, swing at the next two out of the zone for a 3 pitch K. He's looked really bad leading off the last two games here.
  19. You gotta be kidding me on that. Braun gets no secondary lead, the infield is back and he STILL gets thrown out. Come on Brewers. Pull your head out of your....terrible, terrible baseball again. I can't believe he even threw home, a bad throw at that and he's still out.
  20. Thanks for checking, I appreciate it. Odd since I don't appear to be getting blacked out or anything. I'll have to call customer service, since last night, all that I get is the logo and the annoying song that goes with it, like they cut to after every game is over. You could try resetting the box, takes a few minutes but it might bring it back up. If not, you'll have to call them. Another lighting fast inning by the dominating Brew Crew offense, awesome. I don't understand how a team can be THIS much worse on the road, it's just baffeling. Prince was on the ground, full dive before that ball even got to him.
  21. It's not an error because he didn't touch it, just like if a popup fell between three guys. We all know it was a play that should have been made but officially, it was scored correctly unfortunately. Just a terrible ole effort there. Got out of it at least. let's see how we can strand some guys this inning! yay!!
  22. I have it on 669-1 but I did check standard def on 669 and that was working just fine too.
  23. Yeah, I'm on DirecTV, in Milwaukee. Watching in HD with no issues. Standard def comes in too, I double checked. And just like that, theres a play that a normal SS makes. Makes up for the "good" play he had earlier. Shuffle over and get in front of it for crying out loud, we learned that in little league.
  24. I have no idea...seems to me that Wolf is struggling and wants to place the blame on someone. I'd be fine giving Wolf a different catcher...unfortunately that would mean Nieves at the moment and that would suck to have him start every 5 games. Whatever it is, Wolf needs to get over it or figure out how to work with Lucroy.
  25. Not sure if this should be a new thread, as I guess this applies to next season. But the Bucks didn't move in the lottery last night and will be picking 10th overall. This draft is pretty weak in general, and the Bucks have a histroy of blowing lottery picks...that being said, I'm hoping for one of the Morris brothers out of Kansas. At least to give us some semblence of a low post game, though I don't think either is going to be an all-star. No real loss in not moving up, on paper, this has to be one of the worst drafts of all time.
