  1. I would tend to agree. Bunting in front of those guys hurts in numerous ways. 1 - it gives them an open first base to walk one of them if they want (though they didn't in this situation) 2 - it hinders your chance at a big inning greatly. let Morgan hit, maybe he singles (he is hitting second for a reason right?) and we have first and third with no outs for the two 3 - one run in the 8th inning isn't necessarily going to be enough (it would be against us, but that's another story) And obviously it looks way worse now that Morgan likely has broken fingers and can go back on the DL for a month or two. This season is sinking fast.
  2. I'm not going to fault Morgan at all for that. At least SOMEONE on the team is showing some fire. The team looks like they're just going through the motions, waiting for something to happen that will result in them losing a game. It's pathetic. Something needs to change and quick. On the verge of 13 and 18, losers of 6 in a row and 13 of our last 19. Good thing we're "going for it" this season.
  3. Morgan was pissed there because his finger is probably broken. After just coming off the DL, I can understand that. 7 runs in 6 games. That's good right?
  4. Gomez in CF, not good for Morgan. Probably a broken finger. So let me get this straight. You put Morgan in the 2 hole, and then in his 4 at bats, you have him sac bunt twice and bunt for a hit once? Why? Just why? And there goes the game, again. First hitter after we remove Marcum. Hello six game losing streak. We suck.
  5. That Braun at bat was bad. Was either fooled badly three times or just wanted to swing. Good thing we sac bunted so our 3 and 4 hitters could both strike out. Both swinging at pitches out of the zone. It sure looked like Morgan broke his finger too, but we'll see. Maybe we'll catch a break on the injury front for a change.
  6. Does Airtran fly to MN? It's very annoying that Southwest doesn't as I have to go there quite often. That could be nice if they would start offering low fares to MN from Milwaukee.
  7. The weather doesn't look that bad. Maybe a small delay but it appears that they should be able to get the game in without much of a problem. Hopefully Morgan continues to roll and takes the decision basically away from Roenicke because I'm not sure he'd make the right one. We really need to start winning games. Other than Saito..as of tomorrow we will have our entire projected team together. Time to stop giving away games and pick it up a knothc or six.
  8. That 3-1 pitch wasn't even a strike. It shattered his bat. That should have been a walk but Gomez is too stubborn to ever take those. The Reds announcers were even commenting about how silly it is that Gomez tries to hit HR's with all the speed that he has. Then Braun lines out. Is it just me or have we had a ton of lineouts in this series? Seems like every ball we hit hard was either right at them or caught on the warning track. Very frustrating.
  9. It wouldn't take much of anything to move ahead of Almonte right now. It shouldn't at least. He's batting about .100, has had some very poor at bats and is a very big liability in the outfield. That being said, we'll see who goes down when Hart returns here. Hopefully in the next day or two.
  10. If the Bucks were contending, a lot of people would want to watch the Bucks in important late season games as opposed to an early April Brewers game. It goes both ways. This year the Bucks suck so people are mad, but if the Brewers sucked and the Bucks were good....the view might be reversed. What needs to happen is some sort of deal with channel 24 or 41 or any channel for that manner. And then what could happen is that FSN could choose the game they wanted. This year it would have been the Brewers. But choose the game they wanted, then put the other game on 24/41. We're only talking about 5 or so games at the most anyway. This doesn't really help people outside of the Milwaukee area, but it would be a start.
  11. How many times can you post in a row saying essentially the same thing? This snow storm knocks out my Dish and miss the Brewers taking it to Halladay, darn it You tell me. How many time are people going to say Yuni sucks, Gomez is horrible, what an awful at bat, he is a joke.. You can answer your own question I guess. People are going to keep saying it because it's pretty much true. Gomez has awful at bats. That's the truth. He's barely hitting .200 and sees very few pitches. Never hits it on the ground despite his speed. These are facts. He is great defensively, but the facts are that he's just not a good hitter. There isn't much to refute this, look at his career numbers. Yes, it's great that we won, but Gomez is not helping this team offensively.
  12. Telly just interviewed Braun, said he's perfectly fine.
  13. Braun came back into the dugout and was out on the field in the high five line after the game. He looked fine, no grimace or anything. So hopefully it's just nothing. Trying to see if CC can play in left or maybe something minor, like a migraine or something. I hope so at least. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough, it's bound to come up in the press conference.
  14. Tonight is the last Bucks game, so there won't be too many more. I think that leaves about 10 games on WMLW the rest of the way and a few random day games not on TV. Otherwise most of the remaining games will be on FSN or ESPN. At least we got a few of them out of the way early.
  15. Seriously, Morgan on the bench again? This is really irritating me. The man is hot and he rides the pine so Kotsay can play. Plus there is a lefty going tomorrow, so Morgan likely won't play then either. This is just poor baseball strategy and it is very irritating. Guy is hot, hitting almost .500 and he's going to not start in THREE straight games. Not to mention the fact that he's much better defensively in a spacious outfield than Kotsay. Very, very irritating.
  16. I'm with you on this one...when I was in high school and college (about ten years ago, as I'm 29), we used to have like ten guys get together and watch everything live. Raw and Nitro on twin TV's, lost of PPV's and such. Now I record Raw (not Smackdown) and of the 2 hour show, I probably only watch 25 minutes of it tops. I just fast forward the rest. It's becoming very BLAH yet I can't seem to get away from it completely. Someone mentioned the divas, and quite honestly, they should pretty much just dump it. I mean, let's face it, most wrestling fans are males. Most of us don't really care all that much about women wrestling. All they were ever really there for was eye candy. With the PG mode, they really have no purpose. At least that's my take on it. This is going to sound really bad....but unless they're managing, there just isn't much point in having the Divas around if they're restricted to partaking only in PG matches. No more tshirt contests, bikini matches, etc. No more playboy...those types of things are gone. While I can still appreciate beauty of women (they're all very attractive) it's just not the same as it was. Once again, this is fake wrestling, with a mostly male (and probably teenage or higher) fanbase.....somethings are just better suited to not be in PG mode. And yes, the Attitude Era will never be topped. You had the competition, mega stars (HBK, HHH, Austin, Undertaker and the Rock) in WWE. Those are probably 4 or the top 10 stars of all time, all together at the same time, with great feuds and trademarks that would never fly now. Sad....
  17. I kinda wonder if Orton was changed when they went "PG". Like maybe his heel image as a deranged "legend killer" didn't really sit well with the PG rating they wanted. I don't really like the PG aspect, I mean, it is wrestling afterall. Things seem to have kinda gotten boring since then.
  18. Yeah, this lineup against a lefty leaves very much to be desired. Maybe Gomez will have one of his fluke "good" games. The thought of Nieves catching really makes me shudder. Lucroy can't come back soon enough. This is one that on paper definitely looks like a loss. Maybe we'll steal one.
  19. This whole situation is getting very frustrating. Both with Hart and Greinke. Hart has now been out about 5 weeks with this, something that was supposed to be relatively minor. He's not doing anything and is nowhere near ready to come back. It seemed like everyone in the organization thought he'd be back next week and Hart's comments make it seem like it's weeks away. Same with Greinke. The diagnosis for him was 4-6 weeks and we're into that point already and he's not even close. He'll throw off a mound a few times, then have to build up his arm. It'll be another month minimum it sounds like. Very, very frustrating. Not to say that they're milking the injuries at all, but for both of them (and both are crucial to our success) to be out way longer than expected is just very, very annoying.
  20. Building up for an entire year is very, very odd. We'll see if they can pull it off, but I'm having some serious doubts. I guess it probably also means that Cena might finally be out of the WWE Championship picture for awhile, or will be soon. I can't imagine him carrying the title in WM next year, with a preset matchup against the Rock in place. They're going to want that title defended. We'll see what happens. WWE is getting very, very stale though with it's 3-4 identical title contenders getting shot after shot after shot. Same storylines just repeat over and over and over again.
  21. The whole thing was very disappointing to me. The Rock did very little and brought very little extra to the show. The matches were alright...but there seemed to be fewer of them than previous years and the ones that they did have were all kinda blah. There was no title changes, there was no memorable moment. No heel or face turns, nothing. Special stuff, big things should happen at WM and nothing did. It also lacked the excitement of past years. Couple of reasons i think: 1. Other than HHH/Taker, none of the matches were really all that easy to get excited about. Poor booking. 2. There were no real special matches, no money in the bank, ladder match, triple threat or anything. A PPV full of one on ones with mediocre matchups was created and we saw the result. Not even bringing in the Rock could help it very much. We'll see if the Rock continues to appear on TV or if he is gone for good - I haven't watched RAW yet.
  22. Yeah, I somehow lost mine yesterday http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Anyone have any extras?
  23. I'll probably wind up ordering it with some buddies, though none of us are that into it any more and in my opinion, the card really blows. Anyone know why they got rid of the money in the bank match?
  24. The game was over, this is definitely a game we should have won. Axford struggled, but McGehee made a really bad move there. Just get an out and we win this game. Very tough way to start the season....giving away a game we had basically won. Hurts to have to get four outs in the 9th inning but Axford needs to pitch better than that too. This sucks.
  25. I've been to every one since I was a little kid, my dad used to call me in sick for school. I've hit 20 or so in a row....they tend to blend together after awhile...but a few that stand out, I apologize I can't recall the years. We turned a triple play against the Cubs one year, I believe this was still actually at County Stadium. The weather last year was absurd, we lost, but it was like 70 and sunny. Branyans scoreboard bomb Glendon Rusch's first start as a Brewer, went yard and threw a complete game. The first game at Miller Park Sadly, those are the only ones that stand out, I don't remember many as a kid. Though I know for a fact I've been there in the snow.
