  1. I might be trying that self made relish this weekend, wow that sounds good. .25 wings and $1 egg rolls at Long Wong's...is that a Thursday night special or is that there every night? I might have to go there....
  2. I second the section for information regarding road trips - hotels, restuarants, things to do, things to see/eat at the stadium. That would be really sweet. I have myself posted or started 3-4 of these in the last couple of years. That would be cool to get together. I'm sure with all the people on this site, we could probably get really good recommendations for just about every city (I can do 6-7 by myself and would be happy to write up what I thought about each of the cities I've seen baseball games in - Boston, Houston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Baltimore). One other thing that I would really like to see, and this could be difficult but current stats listed next to the players on the top 50. I realize this is only updated monthly or so, but to update the stats would be nice. I follow the top 10 guys are so pretty religiously but for some of the non-regulars, to see an update today that showed Gamel hitting .500 would be kinda cool. For me, when I get past the top 15 or so, I don't know as much about those players and am way too lazy to look up each one's stats. If the current year stats were listed with the employee's other data, that would really make the Power 50 that much nicer.
  3. It's pretty sad that people resort to that. I've had 3 seperate little propane grills stolen in the last 5 years. They were all pretty cheap, less than $40 bucks, but it's just really not the point. I don't know what type of person walks around after the game has started and just steals stuff. It's one thing to take a beer out of a cooler or something, but it's something completely different to start stealing chair, coolers or anything else that someone has actually spent decent money on. Pretty sad....
  4. I would really love to finally get Ron Dayne on the record breaking 8x10...unfortunately, I can't make it that weekend. Anyone going that day that wants to help me out?
  5. No, can't say that I maintained it for the season...I don't think my place of employment would really allow that. Though I did keep it through the first weekend of the season last year and then brought it back for the home playoff games. I'll be doing it again Thursday night...so if you see a guy walking around the stadium on Friday with an M on the back of his head, there's a good chance it's me...feel free to say hello http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. OK, I found one. It's kinda small and not that easy to see...but I think you'll get the idea. I hope I'm doing this right.... http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/8b325939d18047add52415801bf1a202402bf62.pjpg
  7. Might you be willing to post a photo of your hair logo?Sure, as soon as I can find one...and actually figure out how to post it on here.
  8. They should have scheduled the Opener for yesterday, with a day off today like many teams do. When you factor in the fact that the Brewers aren't there again all year and the only alternative for a rain out is a DH in the first series of the year, it was pretty silly of the Giants to not have the game yesterday. Most teams build in an extra day for the home opener, not take a day away. I heard the reasoning was so they could have one last home exhibition game against the Dodgers on Sunday...though the Dodgers sent all minor leaguers and played a game yesterday, I don't know why the Giants couldn't do the same. That radar looks downright scary, best case scenario appears to be a rain delay, unless the storm either vears off course or picks up a lot of steam and blows through SF in a hurry.
  9. I'll be at the game, tailgating for 4-5 hours, enjoying some fine Miller products and brats. Usually toss some bags, throw a football around and just have 1 big old party with about 12-14 friends. And starting last year...I shave my head except for the "M" Brewers logo. That doesn't sound right, I shave everything off except for the M on the back of my head. Yes, I will have the Brewers logo, in hair, on the back of my head. It's pretty sweet. And pretty scary that I actually do that.
  10. You're basing your opinion based off of that ONE at bat/hit. Other than that, I don't recall Gwynn ever really doing anything clutch for the Brewers (granted, in limited chances). He had a sac fly late on the Opener last year, I guess that was clutch, but I just don't understand this. And in thinking about the infamous Hoffmann/Gwynn game, it really wasn't that clutch. The Brewers were already eliminated, it was the last weekend of the season and for the Brewers, there wasn't much on the line. Yes, it won the game, and that has to have some "clutchness" to it, but the pressure just wasn't the same in that game as it would have been had he done the same thing in a game late last September.
  11. Big Ten country or not, UNC has always been my second favorite team...I'll be cheering for them pretty hardcore tonight.
  12. Wrestlemania was pretty terrible in my opinion. I was able to find it for free, I would have been pretty unhappy to shell out $55 for that. I just don't understand a lot of the thinking that went on. I missed about the first 15 or so minutes, but when I turned it on, it seemed like the MITB match was just about over. I thought that was very odd to have started Wrestlemania. Then, what was with Kid Rock...really boring, no reason to have that many songs. He stops singing and then all the Divas are already in the ring (I did leave the room for a bit, but I don't think I missed 25 entrances.....I didn't even know who was in it, or who the "legends" were, that was really disappointing...especially to let Santinto win (funny, but really lame). I kept waiting and waiting for the tag match, I go online and see that the Primos won. Did this happen in like the first 2 minutes of the show or was it not even on at all? How do you promote a match for weeks and then not even show it on the PPV? Very poor. I was disappointed with just about every match, save for Michaels/Undertaker, which was the highlight, but mainly out of default, as the others were all boring. I still don't understand the fascination with Cena as champion, and HHH keeping the title made very little sense. I was hoping for Christian/Edge fued to start, a major heel turn or something...but as has been the case with about the last 20 PPVS...very predictable, very boring and not worth the money. I might have finally come to the end of my wrestling watching days. It's been building for awhile now and I've just grown tired of the same stuff, same stories, same poor PPV's all the time.
  13. Anyone know of any bars in the Waukesha area that shows PPV's now? Sharkeys and BW3's used to, but neither does any more (Sharkey's is gone now I think). I'd like to watch it but don't want to shell out the 55 bucks for it.
  14. I'm in on the Catalanatto vote as well.
  15. I just had 2 guys drop out on me at the last minute. I need one person to fill in for a standard 5x5, 10 team league. Random draft order. None of us are fantasy baseball geeks or anything, so please don't join if your a super huge fantasy guy...we don't need to get beat down that badly http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif If anyone could join, it would help me out a ton. Draft is tomorrow night (4/1) at 8:00. Yahoo ID: 238069 password: donkey Thanks. Jeff
  16. I'd get in on it if we can get some of those 8x10's
  17. Higgins was terrible with the calls today. The two on Burke were absolutely terrible, especially on the rebound that was clearly a jump ball (which MU would have kept), as they came down both with the ball, then the guy pulled him over his back. Just a terrible call. And then McNeal at the end, there was plenty of contact and a pretty clear foul. 2 shots with a 1 point lead and 15 seconds left, instead they come down and win it. Tough, tough loss. I agree, I'd rather lose by 20 then a buzzer beater, man those hurt. Both MU and WI seem destined for a buzzer beater of their own, they've both had some really tough losses in the last month or two, we're about due for some payback.
  18. Well Marquette hammered St. John's today, up almost 35-40 all second half. Held St. Johns to 2-23 shooting, 10 points total in the first half. It was a beat down in every sense of the word, so maybe that gives them a bit of confidence. My biggest complaint, and this is a HUGE one, is that Marquette had McNeal, Matthews and Hayward all in until about the 4 minute mark in the game. They were up 35+ all second half. There is absolutely no reason they should have been in the game at that point. They should have come out with about 8-10 minutes left, it was abundantly clear this game was well over. With Villanova's up tempo style tomorrow, they could have probably used that extra 5-6 minutes of rest, not to mention the fact that if they make a deep run in the tournament, they could play as many as 4 games in 4 days...not very good coaching in my opinion. You had a chance to rest your starters in a blow out at the end of the season and don't take advantage of it. Could come back to bite them.
  19. He was used as a PR in the 9th inning today against team USA. He was the tying run with 2 outs in the 9th inning, so I'd say it's fairly safe to assume he has a pretty decent amount of speed.
  20. I was actually in Boston last May and there was a lot of Brewer fans there...of course, I was also in Houston and there were probably 20 Brewer fans total at the game....so we'll see I guess. We're all 26-30, if that makes a difference to anyone that wants to meet up. Thanks for the info, I'll have to reread all this a few times to get the best place to stay I think.
  21. Marquette played hard, but just wasn't enough tonight. I might be biased here, but that was some of the most 1 sided officiating that I've seen in a long, long time. Especially in the second half. Thabeet had an obvious second foul with 8 minutes left in the first half, not called (announcers were all over it). Then in the second half, Marquette got called for 4 straight "touch" fouls. I say touch because two of them were a clean block or no contact whatsoever. Marquette also got called for 3 very borderline charges. One more thing...why does it seem like Marq/WI always, always get the game of a season/career from guys? Vasallo from VT went nuts on WI, Price tonight shot about 70% and had near 40 points, that big guy from Iowa who was a 15% 3 point shooter knocks down 2 in the last 5 minutes of a close game. I guess that's only 3 examples but it sure feels like a lot more.
  22. They just said James is out indefinitely with a stress fracture of the 5th Metatarsal bone in his foot. From what I can find, that could be anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months depending on the severity and if he needs surgery or not. Major, major blow for their remaining season, especially the NCAA tournament. Sucks even more is he did it on what was a simple drive to the hoop, he planted on the foot, came back and came up limping and that was it. Couldn't have come at a worse time...ouch. Edit: They keep showing James on the sideline and you can't help but feel for the guy. I've been pretty hard on him the last few years, but you can see he's been crying. Likely due to the fact that his season is probably over. He's a senior on what could be a Final Four team and he's going to have to watch it from the sideline. Tough way to end a career for a guy that while he has his faults, was certainly a very, very good player for MU the last 4 years. Let's hope he has a miracle cure or something.
  23. My and a few buddies are heading to Atlanta this year for our annual Brewers road trip. Unfortunately, none of us have ever been there and we don't have any friends/relatives that live in that area. All I really know is that it's hot and the traffic sucks. Anybody familiar with the area at all? It looks like this closest area to stay in a hotel near the stadium is the downtown area. There are lots of hotels down there, as well as scattered all over the city. Would it be best to stay downtown (is it safe?)? Or should we stay somewhere outside the downtown area - and if so, any suggestions? Basically looking for a safe area that has a good number of bars and restaurants for us to hang out at before and after games. In addition, regardless of where we stay, do you think it would be wise to get a rental car? I've heard there is some sort of train system that can get you around the city, but I have no idea what those hours are, if they go to the stadium, etc. I don't think we'd venture much outside of the city itself. The only other thing on the agenda is CokeWorld (whatever that is?). Thanks for the help. One more thing....anyone else venturing down there for these? Might be cool to hook up at a bar or something.
  24. You looking for cash or a trade of some kind?
