  1. Wang looks like he could have a decent future, but if we're serious about contending this year, he can't stay on the roster. An "injury" would sure help, I know he needs 90 days, but those could be accrued later in the year when our bullpen isn't fried. It's just hard to wing games having one less guy in the bullpen, throw in all these close games and extra innings games....it's just not working. I doubt Pitt lets us keep him but we'd be silly to not just simply ask.
  2. So if we want to send him down, we have to offer him on waivers to every other MLB team right? And if he clears, we'd then have to offer him back to Pittsburgh or work out a trade with them to keep him is that accurate?
  3. He can go on the DL for awhile and come back in July or something. Get some service time during and around the All-Star break, plus the month of September.
  4. It was definitely something on his pitching thumb. Could have been a blister, not really sure. He threw a couple more test throws but left the game. Didn't appear to be in a lot of pain or anything. Didn't really look serious, but they haven't said anything that I've heard yet (Though I am working).
  5. Don't forget Wang looking to third on a routine DP, 2 runs scored after the inning potentially could have been over.
  6. Rule 5 or not, any pitcher should know to turn and go to second there. That's just common baseball sense, going home with it is one thing, but to go to third to try to turn a DP? That's just dumb. That was a routine DP and they made us pay by scoring runs after the inning should have been over.
  7. Being positive is fine, but nobody is saying the game is over because we're down 1 run in the 4th inning. At least not without some serious sarcasm behind it. Well this has to be Wang's game for awhile. On the one hand, I want Garza to be fine, but he seems to be fighting himself mentally big time, maybe a short DL stint wouldn't be the worst thing. Nelson can come up and fill in.
  8. Wang has to pitch in this game, regardless of the score. Garza isn't pitching well, has a huge pitch count and will be lucky to get through 5 innings. The passed ball sure didn't help. We just simply can't trot the same guys out there game after game, Wang needs to cover a couple innings regardless of the score.
  9. I want this to be a blowout one way or another. Our bullpen needs a day off, and maybe Wang can get in. Smith, Thornburg and K-Rod are all in the top 10 in appearances this year already.
  10. Well that's about right. Run yourself out of an inning, then a walk, single and a hanging curve you're losing.
  11. Just don't like ending the inning like that, it's not like the pitcher was at the plate. Now I'm curious, what makes you think they stole the sign? They didn't seem to have any intention of throwing it back home, had Gennett been safe I think we get a run out of it.
  12. Way to run yourself right out of an inning. If you're going to attempt a double steal and you think you're out at second, stop and let the runner go home. At least make them get the out at home. I'm fine with running, but why end the inning on the bases there with a pretty hot hitter at the plate? Doesn't make much sense.
  13. I'm almost positive they'll put him on the DL on Saturday and activate Schafer, which is a full week of playing a man down. It's just stupid but we always seem to do it. If for whatever reason Braun is healthy by Saturday, I really wonder what they would do. They could send Herrera back down, but doesn't he provide WAY more than Weeks? He can play 2b, along with SS, OF and C if absolutely necessary. He's better defensively, he's faster and he's a better hitter than Weeks. Only advantage that Weeks has is power, but he'd actually have to get on the field once in awhile first.
  14. Cueto is lined up for Saturday, I belive against Gallardo. That ball was crushed!!!
  15. It's in Cincy, yeah. 4 games. Sounds like both Segura and Ramirez will be ready tomorrow. Braun not so much.
  16. Nice start. Sufficient to say Garza hasn't been nearly as good as I was hoping so far this season. Both of those balls were smoked.
  17. Why isn't Segura playing? He PH last night....it's just getting ridiculous to play with these lineups.
  18. Not only that but we came back from another 3-0 hole and found a way to scratch across a run in extras to win yet again!
  19. Is this team clicking? Are they really this good? Or has it been luck? The offense isn't exactly rolling by any means. The pitching has been tremendous but I feel we've won a tremendous amount of close games. Can we really keep this up? Hope the offense can catch up to the pitching at some point here too. Need to get healthy first.
  20. Not gonna lie, I almost gave up on this one seeing the lineup and seeing us down 3-0 when I was able to turn it on. Glad I didn't. I don't know how it's possible, but this team found a way to win...again. Stole the last two with half a roster basically. Amazing.
  21. Come on K-Rod, shut the door one more time and let's steal yet another one from the Cardinals!!
  22. If Gomez got tossed, they'd have to put Overbay in RF and Maldonado/Lucroy at 1b/C. Are any of our injured guys even available to PH? This is just getting silly. Put someone on the DL at this point.
