  1. LHP Brian Fitzpatrick is off the IL and he is already back in action. You love to see it. He will head to the mound to start the seventh inning. Best of luck, Brian!
  2. Winds really picking up out toward LF. Nittoli gets the K looking on ol Brewer farmhand Hayden Cantrelle. Sounds trail 5-3. They head to the bottom of the sixth.
  3. And it has begun raining at First Horizon Park. Those gloomy skies with that local severe weather may be arriving. Let's see if they can finish this game. Tenuous at best. Meanwhile, Biloxi has a little life gifted to them here in the bottom of the sixth. The 2B misplayed a likely inning-ending weak grounder under his glove. And, now Spain has walked. men on 1B and 2B. Two down.
  4. Sounds now trail 5-3. Mitchell couldn't chase down the gapper to the deep right CF wall. Looked like he undercut his route but it also looked as tho he couldn't get there regardless. More importantly, he absolutely airmailed the relay throw missing the cut-off and the runner on 1B scores. Mitchell charged with the throwing error - rightfully so.
  5. Wood has executed two absolutely gorgeous throws for CS at 2B. Consecutive innings. Absolutely gorgeous throws. Hardin has completed six frames in his Double-A debut. Incredible.
  6. 7-4 Mudcats lose. Unfortunately, that was indeed a well earned loss. 😅
  7. Hardin pitching into the sixth in his Double-A debut is just what I needed baby. You love to see it. Di Turi takes 3B. 2-2 count to Holguin. He takes ball three low and outside. 3-2 count. Sac Fly to CF. 7-4 deficit. Two outs.
  8. Di Turi tries to start a mini rally here with a 2-2 double to the right CF gap. RF'er overpursued in to that liner. One down. Man on 2nd.
  9. Lottttttta undisciplined Mucats strikeouts tonight. With Anderson's swinging K to start the 9th that is four consecutive strikeouts from the Mudcats. Do you think stranding Walther at 2B via three consecutive K's mattered? I do.
  10. The Fireflies are retired! I repeat: The Fireflied are retired! I hear songs of 'Rejoice!' throughout the Zebulon lands!
  11. Dikember starts his work with a double to the RF wall. My word. LOL. 10th batter of the Fireflies inning. Muddies were leading 3-2. They now trail 7-3.
  12. And, well, lost in all this hoopla in the ninth is the fact Bryce Meccage will indeed not get his fist professional win. Bummer.
  13. AND, now Stanley calls the bullpen. Amazing. I swear. That was completely unnecessary. Oh well.
  14. Johnson ran out of gas. Nobody has been up in the bullpen. Stanley absolutely does this. AND, the Mudcats are thin in the pitching ranks so you can understand why he is trying to get all he can out of Johnson.
  15. Tie game. Sac fly. ONly one out. Men on 1st and 2nd.
  16. My word. Bitonti just dropped the ball at 1b after Made scooped a hard hit runner keeping both runners. Bitonti absolutely has to catch that ball. Good grief. Bases juiced. Terrible drop. Very makable catch. Brutal.
  17. Oh boy. He gives up another well hit ball. Just over the outstretched glove of Rodriguez in LF. Bounces to the wall. Double. Runners at 2nd and 3rd. 3-2 lead nobody out.
  18. Hardin gets his 5th K to ends his fourth. Fantastic work in his debut. 5-2 Shuckers lead.
  19. Johnson is going for the three inning Save but he gives up a lead-off double to the left CF wall to open his ninth. Ruh roh Raggy!
  20. Walther leads off with the dub. Made, Peña and Bitonti go down via strikeout and they were dominanced to a man. Bitonti went down on a 99 mph heater. Filthy stuff.
  21. Peña has had two really poor K's tonight. For such a fantastic hitter he still has his moments. Both were swinging and both were in the dirt in pitcher's counts.
  22. Hardin opens up the fourth frame with a lead-off homer just over the right CF wall. 108 mph off that bat, however. Scorched. 5-2 Shuckers lead.
  23. Hey now! Walther scorches a double into the RF corner. Real nice easy oppo poke on an inside sinker. Hopped just short of the wall. A lead off bottom of the 8th double.
  24. And Lara sends home Wilken and takes 2B on the throw home. Poke through the left side of the infield.
  25. I personally think so? I think it entirely depends on the Trade Deadline. He's really just a fantastic vet. I know it hasn't worked at the MLB level. I still believe in the player and the talent. He has massive pop in that bat. He is just fine defensively everywhere he plays. His best spot is first base. He's more than serviceable at 3B and RF.
