  1. That's because I shared this with him in text messaging this am. 😁
  2. For those just tuning in for the actual Game Thread, Daniel originally posted the Opening Day roster HERE but I will also post it here for the sake of this opening night thread: Many new faces this season (as is often the case). Some of these young men introduced themselves to us here:
  3. I'm not going to lie, I had a moment there where I wondered: "What did Jim Pin atop the page there?" Great Scotts! Our first 2025 Game Thread.
  4. Lots of procedural and assignment/option moves on the official Opening Day of the Brewers 2025 ML Season: (I'm too lazy to type out each of these individually and I have farm work to accomplish so I will give you a Screenshot. Apologies in advance)
  5. I don't disagree with you here. I am hoping they have essentially told him: "We're going to give you consistent opportunities on the outfield grass. We are hoping you earn your promotion back to Nashville with your steady play out there." kind of thing. As of now, this is all pure speculation on my part. And, I've been dreaming on this shift within the org for a year or more. It just makes so much sense to get him out there more regularly at the corner OF spots. As I've said on more than one occasion, given the nature of his bat and his threat offensively when he's right, there just aren't really any outfielders standing in his way (so to speak) as, at bare minimum, a depth piece out there. This rings even more true with the recent Hicklen DFA (and possible departure). He's too talented a baseball player to not bounce back and regain that one-time luster as a prospect. I remain convinced the corner outfield grass is his best place to accomplish this.
  6. So, really I have two things to share in terms of thoughts and pontifications at one actual glance here: 1) Did not see the Adam Hall rostering here. But, then again, I did not see the original Zamora promotion last season. And, well, these types of things happen all the time when a man such as myself (who definitely doesn't work within the org or for the org) isn't familiar with the day-to-day thinking and goings on behind the scenes. Surely, the Brewers have their reasons. I sincerely hope Adam can run with this assignment and give meaningful production. 2) No Tyler Black listed? What does this even mean? Well, it means the Brewers have optioned him to Biloxi's roster for the time being. I can take this as only one thing: the Brewers have finally realized they 'should' try Tyler as an everyday OF'er. In the very least, start playing him out there just as much as they are investing in his infield work. AND, if this is the case, you can all pay Spencer and my's Patreon page at 'Hot Brewers Prospect Takes'. Feel free to Venmo us at @BallKnowersGreatestTips. 😆
  7. I'm struggling to find anything on newly acquired 'Garrett S[ain'. With that type of languaging, I can only imagine he is from the future? Or from the ancient past? I'll report back when I know more. 🕵️‍♂️
  8. Well, @Jake McKibbin, unfortunately this piece did not age all that well 😅 Unbeknownst to any of us, you crafted a rare Opening Day Sports Illustrated cover-like jinx!
  9. Speaking of Khash Munny... MRI on his right knee scheduled after he left last night's throttling at the hands of the Pacers. He left the game early with what has been described as 'right knee soreness'. Man, the demise of Khris' body hurts me on a soul level. 😔 Sidebar G-League Update: (Everybuddy's favorite!) The Herd have won 3 straight. They just throttled GSW's affiliate by over 30. Terence Davis had 44 on 12-for-16 from deep 😳. Big Henry Ellenson is averaging 21 and 10 with 4 dimes on 44.5% from deep (4 attempts per game). Justise Winslow starts for them. Honestly, I'm surprised Winslow can walk or lift his arms after the number of days; weeks; months; years he's spent on NBA IL's. They remain 3.0 GB. Ol' friend, PF/C Drew Timme just turned the best 30 game stretch in his professional career (including a very recent Fitty Piece!) for the Nets G-League affiliate into a two-year NBA deal with said Nets. Love this for him. Spokane's Golden Son!! My mountain valley is singing this morning. The creeks and springheads trickling off Mount Spokane have an extra twinkle in thine watery eyes! We all know these types of deals have very little if any type of guarantees but it's a legit first foot through the door. Run with it, big fella!
  10. Staying current with recent Brewers roster manipulations: - RHP Chad Patrick was recalled by the Milwaukee Brewers from the Nashville Sounds - 1B/OF Jake Bauers' contract was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers - OF Brewer Hicklen was DFA'd to the Nashville Sounds by the Milwaukee Brewers - LHP Jose Quintana was optioned to the ACL Brewers (ramp up) by the Milwaukee Brewers
  11. RHP Peter Strzelecki's unfortunate DFA tour has continued in early 2025. Here's hoping he finds the right situation and the right series of events to make it back into a Big League Pen in 2025.
  12. I don't have any meaningful response here. In general, I completely understand the 2nd apron rationale and what getting under opens up. I would casually argue their mismanged projections and roster constructions got them there in the first place but does it even matter discussing these finer points? 😅 In general, the Bucks legitimately just make me feel entirely apathetic. Grateful I experienced a Championship run in my lifetime. Genuinely amazed they are paying three HC salaries and Doc Rivers is receiving the most money of the three. Genuinely amazed. On the positive flipside, the Bucks absolutely remind me of why I follow the Brewers org so passionately. I just love love love how they execute their Team vision. They certainly botch some personnel and roster construction things from time to time but it is hard not to genuinely admire what they manage to put together annually. A true ongoing annual feat of excellence in American professional sports. I do not take this for granted a single day of any recent season. To me, and this is just me, it is more enjoyable than the mandate of having to win a World Surrious to validate the team's worth. Their health of construction and organization philosophy and execution is what I am in awe of - behind the obvious allure and fascination I have with the players.
  13. This current Bucks experience feels like a Hambone Bucks era experience but you have Giannis' talent and you have Giannis' input also influencing the decision-making process. I don't quite understand the wishful internets thinking that this Bucks squad is an EC contender. They look every bit the part of another 1st round or 2nd round exit. They just are not a smart basketball team and they are not led by a smart HC. Kyle Kuzma does some nice things on the court - rebounds and defends. But, man, he is a really maddeningly inefficient spazy unintelligent basketball player. The patina has worn off that first week or two feel good there. The Bucks traded away a franchise icon and extremely smart player and just threw in the most exciting prospect they've had in the entire Giannis era like it was nothing. This is just not a high-functioning organization.
  14. - OF Garrett Spain was assigned to the Biloxi Shuckers from the Nashville Sounds - RHP Zach Peek was assigned to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers from the Nashville Sounds - INF/OF Casey Martin was (officially and procedurally) activated by the Biloxi Shuckers
  15. Bad news for ol' Nashville and Brewers friend, Jon Singleton. I've been pining for RHP Luis Contreras to get an actual meaningful MLB bullpen opportunity since he was a Shucker. He had a couple cups of tepid coffee last season but continued his grind with a fantastic season for Sugar Land (where, surely, ol' friend Garrett Greene appreciated his work). Huge for him to make the Opening Day roster. Here's hoping he runs with it!
  16. Well, hello Mondays. Good grief these pre-season March days, season after season, continue to haunt me. There is only pain.
  17. I actually have an 0.856 OPS batting righty last season in Nashville but, regardless, you can find all those lefty-batting or righty-batting splits for any player via the MiLB.com main page Stats portal. We don't get Statcast for anything but Triple-A, sadly but we do get a wealth of compiled stats overall if you eliminate the qualifiers and choose 'All Players'. Here is a direct link to Collins batting righty in the International League last season (ranked 90th overall of the entire pool of candidates - no qualifiers)
  18. That tying PK? Goodness what a deke...
  19. Indeed. Tho, I certainly hope and pray we Brewers fans are even further removed from that 1977 record spiritually and psychologically. I'm kind of into this post-season contending thing. The current Yankees have a banged up pitching staff. So do the Brewers but I think the Crew have more horses to handle it in the interim. Here's hoping for an entertaining series win.
  20. Collins is a switch hitter. In theory, he has a solid chance against both lefties and righties. As we all know, he has yet to prove he can hit MLB hitting. As we all know, last season's sample was absurdly small.
  21. And here I thought I was clicking on an article about Babe Capra. Sigh. Click bait!
  22. I have to say, I thought they'd go Durbin. I am very pleased they went Collins, Capra, and Bauers. Bauers earned it this spring with an improved approach. I support these moves.
  23. Short answer: I like it. I've liked it. I've been pushing for a shift to the OF for nearly a year. I've explained my reasoning in other threads but I think it's the most sensible option given his ongoing inconsistencies and struggles in the compressed infield space.
