  1. That RHP Garrett Stallings 8th inning was the best inning of work I've seen from him since becoming a Brewers. Fantastic inning of work there!
  2. Boy, this Mudcats game just got ridiculously sloppy in the 8th inning. They are giving runs and bases away now like it's a charity raffle. They just sent the run across via WP. Sanchez then walked the next batter in a 3-2 count. And, the Mudcats failing to call a timeout had inexplicably tossed the baseball toward the dugout. The base runner takes two more bases. That just can not happen. Youth on full display tonight. Sigh.
  3. Yophery sees you Mr. Pratt. Slides and snares a shallow liner in left CF. He continues to showcase that defensive base line. The bat is very inconsistent and the plate discipline is a work in progress. As I said yesterday, hwoever, the defenseis a constant plus. Meanwhile, Luke Adams was just plunked yet again! Unreal. Right on that lead left leg again. AND, another run scores in Fredericksburg on a 2-2 wild pitch. Rough inning for Sanches but he's also been very very unlucky.
  4. Pratt just made an absolute crucial snow cone stab of a bases juiced two out liner headed into CF. He skied high and snared that puppy. That was smoked. Big time play there! 1-1 game headed to the 8th.
  5. Yup. Definitely didn't pull the right strings. When you have that seven run lead? Can't let that happen. It was Corniel's meltdown that set the tone. He had every excuse to pull his starter after the come backer off his pitching hand. Game should never have gotten here. He then ended up pitching Durow too deep. Is what it is.
  6. OH for crying out loud. Now the Muddies get sloppy. Gotta know your situation and who is on the base paths. They get another run in on a casual fly out to Castillo in RF. By my eyes that looked like a learning opportunity and a young mistake from Eric Bitonti - who as we know has only just started playing 1B since being promoted. Another runner scores and Green makes it to 2B in the process. Gotta know the situation.
  7. Meanwhile McKendry gave the lead up and it's back to a tie ball game at 3-3.
  8. Oh man. An absolute squib dribbler made its way past a diving Guilarte with the infield in. Ugh. Tough tough luck. Sanchez gives up the unfortunate 0-2 knock. Still nobody down. 11-9 deficit now. Men on 1st and 2nd.
  9. Durow running into trouble right away with a couple pokes into LF. Men on 1st and 2nd. 3-0 count now after the ump stole strike one (Hawkeye had it on the corner). Zone continues to bee way too small for both sides. And that's a walk. Bases juiced. Nobody down. Ruh roh.
  10. 3-1 Sounds lead. McKendry gave up a hard hit single to the 3B side - Collins got his glove on it but couldn't corral it. Next batter he gives up a near homer off the deep LF wall and there are men on 2nd and 3rd. Nobody down.
  11. Bitonti and Briceno walk to put two on with two down. Di Turi swings and misses on a pretty nasty inside 1-2 slider just above the belt. Tough pitch. Worthwhile swing. Just couldn't put the lumber on it. To the bottom of the 8th. 9-9 game.
  12. Sounds then got a little bit of help from the infield dirt when a Cargo line drive grounder short hops and caroms into LF off the SS glove behind 2B. 3-1 Sounds now headed to the 7th.
  13. Owen Miller's third free pass walks in the tying run. It's a 1-1 game in Nashville. It's a 1-1 game in Quad Cities. It's a 1-0 deficit in Montgomery for the Shuckers (7th). It's 9-9 in the top of the 8th in Fredericksburg. Two down Bitonti in a 2-1 count.
  14. Sounds have the bases juiced. Nobody out. Hicklen to the dish who has walked and K'd so far.
  15. Nice work by Cruz. He got the DP grounder but they couldn't quite turn it. Fast runner down the line. He gets the K to escape further damage. 1-1 game.
  16. Cruz ran into trouble in the sixth. Two singles to RF had men on 1st and 2nd. He was ahead 0-2 to the next batter and walked him. Bases juiced. One down.
  17. After a LF Yoshwar Garcia line out to 3B, C Blayberg Diaz has really put together a fantastic two out men on the corners full count AB. Fouled off a pitch. Hits a hard grounder up the middle but it is fielded cleanly. That was a good AB. Good process. Put a decent swing on that ball. Live with the results. We are 9-9 headed to the bottom of the 7th.
  18. Man EBJ has just absolutely impressed defensively over the past month plus. He is getting so comfortable out there. Every aspect of his defensive game has ticked up a notch and he was already a very very good defensive player. We just need that new batting stance and approach to keep rounding into form.
  19. Holy hyeck we are in some tight contests: 9-9 in the 7th @ Fredericksburg 1-0 Indians in Nashville top of the 6th 1-0 Biscuits lead @ Montgomery as the Shuckers are in the bottom of the 5th. 1-0 T-Rats lead in Quad Cities in the bottom of the sixth.
  20. YES!!!! Oppo 3-1 single to RF. Fantastic piece of RISP hitting there as Guilarte keeps swinging with a much improved approach. Wonderful work! We are tied 9-9 baby. LOVE it. Let's GO, men!!!
  21. Muddies now have the bases juiced. Castillo walked for the fifth time in two games. Guilarte is being patient. 2-0 count.
  22. Hey now, Carolina has a Briceno oppo single. And a Di Turi single to RF. Both with two down. Men on the corners. Luis Castillo to the dish to face a righty. Hitless in this series. Four walks yesterday, however. Three groundouts so far today.
  23. RHP Stiven Curz really dug deep to escape any damage with a runners on 1st and 2nd. Nobody down. 3-1 count. Got a DP and a swinging K to end it. Fantastic stuff! T-Rats cling to a 1-0 lead.
  24. With the Shuckers trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 4th they will indeed have to come back again if they are going to pull this out. They've won five consecutive via come backs.
  25. Are you at the game? Definitely let's hope that isn't serious. Backs can be tricky! Where did you hear this from?
