  1. Hey a Hall 1-2-3 inning and an angel grows its wings.
  2. Peterson hangs another and gives up a rocket to deeeeeep left CF. It's a lead off double to start the 3rd.
  3. SS Cooper Pratt has his first High-A double. He's reached base twice. He just snuck a ball through the gap along the 3B line.
  4. Manuel Rodriguez has given up 5 pokes - his hardest hit ball was a line out, go figure - with two 60 some mph frog hops to RF in there. BUT, they've all been singles. He's worked around all the base running traffic. He likely won't go to a Quality Start given the early pitch count but he's still giving his team all they need.
  5. Called a HR by the infield umpire. They met as some ump crew huddle buddies for a couple minutes. They called it back. Much to the chagrin of the 3B coach. He was ticked. LOL. It was the right call according to the Montgomery booth.
  6. Sparks rescues Peterson by running down a hard hit liner down the RF line. No runs cross. He was hit quite hard in that frame but escaped unscathed.
  7. OH wait a minute! They are sending Tanner Murray back to 2B. No longer a HR in Montgomery. Noice! Point still stands: Mistake Hanger dead center. That ball was absolutely scorched either way. Bottom line is, however, it is currently simply a two-bagger.
  8. LHP Nate Peterson just did what he's been doing throughout 2024: Hung a breaking ball dead center. Crushed for a HR. Shuckers trail 1-0. Peterson just hangs way too many pitches. He's now allowed 17 long balls in 65 2/3 IP on his season.
  9. Hall follows that with a K. Then, in a 1-2 count he plunks the next hitter. The peripherals just don't lie. It's tough sledding for Hall.
  10. What have I consistently been saying about LHP DL Hall? His heater is way too flat. Just not moving in any consistent manner. He just gave up a lead-off solo bomb just over the LF fence to start the 2nd. He's had one outing in his entire rehab stint where I felt "OK, we can absolutely work with this." Beyond that, I've really seen only a handful of heaters here and there that qualify for me.
  11. AND, in the 'that's baseball' category he gets the 2nd out off a 112 mph rocket directly to Yoshwar Garcia in LF. LOL.
  12. Second inning in a row Rodriguez has two men aboard via absolute duck farts into shallow RF. Castillo missed a sliding catch by a matter of inches. Men on 1st and 2nd in the 2nd frame. One down.
  13. He escapes via a weakly hit pop fly to shallow RF. Good thing. He was approaching 30 pitches.
  14. Aquino has found some two out trouble here in the 1st. He just surrendered a full count walk to put men on the corners after the earlier one out double. Now, he has surrendered an RBI single to RF. Men on 1st and 2nd. Pitch count at 25. 1-0 deficit.
  15. Hall continues to allow way to many base runners for me to take his call-up all that seriously. I continue to have serious concerns about his heater - I just haven't seen any plus consistency there whatsoever. He worked around runners on the corners in the first frame and got the K swinging to end the threat (on a slider - his off-speed continues to be his best blend of pitches by my eyes by a good stretch).
  16. At this early juncture I certainly can't vehemently disagree with you. Every ball he has hit beyond the infield has been absolutely scorched. That 1st AB double was absolutely smashed.
  17. THAT is an uncanny amount of strength. One of the absolute hardest parts of any Carolina League Park to hit it out. He didn't even get all of that. Was an insane poke.
  18. Meanwhile, LHP DL Hall starts his outing with a five pitch walk. One competitive pitch.
  19. Nothing cheap about going Left CF in the Nats ball park for reference. 7-0 Muddies.
  20. Three Run Moon Shoot got caught in the wind. 429 feet and he snuck it over. LOL. My baseball gods.
  21. My word. Bitonti. That. Is. All.
  22. Pratt nods to his ol' teammate and takes a full count for a walk himself to open his series in Quad Cities. Lead-off man aboard. Baez, meanwhile was just plunked on the left hip and he is down in pain outside the 1B line. Trainer coming out to check on him.
  23. Two trips to the dish. Two times on base. A 2nd AB 5 pitch free pass for Yophery.
  24. Rodriguez escapes via his 2nd K (swinging and missing on high heat) and a ground out to Di Turi at SS. 4-0 and we are on to the second frame.
  25. Man an absolute goose snort 65 mph blooper found the RF grass. Men on the corners one down for Rodriguez.
