  1. I'm going to say this for the however manyeth time in the past few months: I think LHP DL Hall's off-speed offerings are vastly undersold in the persistent discourse on his velo and fastball shape. He can lead any AB with that slider or change-up and I personally love the shape of his curveball - they are just fantastic offerings. Only one swing and miss on the heater that topped out at 95.5 mph tonight. 12 swings and misses on 39 swings. Only one swing and miss on the heater. Decent outing. Not dominant, whatsoever, but very decent. Again, that off-speed toolkit is absolutely legit. The heater continues to be outing-to-outing inconsistent by my eyes.
  2. Holy heck did Clarke absolutely crush that ball. Whewww. That was a no doubter. My goodness. 408' down the LF line. Launch angle looked to be 45 degrees 😅
  3. Both Hall runs came in the 1st frame via sac flies. The curveball, the slider, and the change were quite nice. The heater looked decent but it was definitely getting popped. Let's see how his next innings fare.
  4. Well, Hall's heater was getting tagged early and often. Three consecutive rips into the OF - a double to the left CF gap. A single to CF. And, a heck of a run down by LF Tyler Black. YEAH BABY! THE OF EXPERIMENT CONTINUES TO GROW LEGS. I am going to keep saying this: the OF is Black's new domain. He can play out there. His athleticism plays. We need to see the arm challenged. He is reading balls well. He is laying off balls that aren't his. I am loving what I am seeing so far.
  5. Remember they are asking for field ump calls from behind the mound. I often chuckle at that. Just like at the Mudcats game: they can't possibly see what is actually happening. Hence, and I try to impart this to folks: MiLB stats and results have much much deeper layers. That likely was a check swing strike. Just as I don't think that 1B ever stepped on the bag in Zebulon. These often impact bottom lines. Tonight, they did not, thankfully.
  6. Time to go back and watch LHP Shane Hall's innings. 😜
  7. Pops him out to 1B foul territory. EMJ calmly corrals. Shuckers take it! That's a wrap. Woot woot.
  8. Second walk for Yeager. Making it hard on himself. Two down. Men on 1B and 2B. Mound visit by the team here. Now the pitching coach comes aboard. 3-2 Shuckers clinging to this lead.
  9. Ground out to short. Two down. Man on 2B. Full count.
  10. Walling successfully lines out to CF for a sac fly. Adamczewski successfully beats the throw. Charleston tried to challenge the tag. The umps will have none of that. 9-8 WIN.
  11. He does escape. He gets the ground out to 3rd base and Baez takes the force out at 3B. Noice! Let's go Muddies! Let's walk it off baby.
  12. Reyes plunked the first batter on the first pitch. He has now K'd consecutive batters on filthy pitches. The last an absolutely gorgeous unhittable curve on the outer black to a lefty. Let's hope he can escape. Men on 1st and 2nd. 10th frame. 2 down.
  13. WILKEN GO-AHEAD 3-RUN TWO OUT BOMB We now have the clip:
  14. Adamczewski grounds out hard to 2B. We have free baseball in Zebulon. On to the 10th.
  15. Two man ump crew may have missed a call on a Bitonti ground out to 1B. Looked as tho the 1B never stepped on the bag. Maybe should be bases loaded. BUT, that's a two man crew you can't blame them. They have zero angle on that play. They take what it looks like.
  16. I'm going to go back and watch his outing. BUT, you can always find his peripherals on Baseball Savant.
  17. We actually call that a LHP Shane Smith outing. It's cool. It's new. BUT, it's a thing. (No it isn't)
  18. Di Turi sends a 2-2 sky high fly out down the LF line. One down. Castillo still on 2B.
  19. Lead off dub by Luis Castillo to the wall in right CF. The winning run is in scoring position. Meanwhile, In Biloxi Carlson gave up a lead-off double in the 8th. He just gave up a single through the gap up the middle into CF. Shuckers trail 2-0 in the 8th.
  20. That's a 1-2-3 inning on 3 weakly hit ground outs - Adamczewski made a couple challenging charging plays look very easy at 2B - and the Mudcats will have a chance to steal this in the bottom of the 9th.
  21. RHP Dikember Sanchez could easily work with an 8 second pitch clock. Man he fires them in fast.
  22. And, NO, I will NOT change or edit that post. He will always be my whittle LHP Shane Smith
  23. LOL. You did. It's called the 'typo' maneuver. These happen from time-to-time after the deadline when the parent MLB club is playing for general horse malarkey. You find a player on the fringe who doesn't exist in reality but he does in your minnnnnnnnnd.
