  1. BUT, fear not, C Jose Sibrian (you know he's my guy) just ripped a two-run HR jack over the wall in LF. 5-1 Mudcats. LET'S GO!!!!!
  2. You could probably make that claim. He swung at it like a fly swatter, honestly. AND, well, he certainly didn't hold onto the ball. It went dribbling behind him into CF. That's a play your CF can not botch. Inexplicably bad judgment. Just underhand catch it. Just catch it straight on. But, to swing at it like you're playing Jai Lai?!?
  3. That error was inexplicably bad. Just a complete nonsense play. Ugh.
  4. CF Monte Harrison just absolutely biffed a charging shallow fly ball to straightaway CF. It was hit perfectly but Harrison was there with plenty of time. He swipes at the ball, inexplicably, and it goes into CF. What the heck was that Monte? That's a great escape out. A great job by Bukauskas. Unbelievable error there. 8-5 Sounds now. Good gracious. The Indians have our 7-run 6th inning debacle. Just go to the 23 second mark to see Harrison's inexplicable gaffe in shallow CF:
  5. Hey, it's a new week and it's another HR given up by RHP Robbie Baker. It is uncanny how many long balls he has conceded in the last two and 1/2 months. I don't know if I've ever seen this type of run from a Brewer reliever in...I don't know how long. The Shuckers trail 13-1. Yikes.
  6. 3B Brock Wilken is now 2-for-2 with a BB. He rips a liner single through to CF here in the bottom of the 4th. Bukauskas gets the 0-2 punchout getting his first batter chasing a breaking ball in the dirt. Navarreto protects and prevents the run scoring from 3rd. Two down. Huge K. Bases still juiced.
  7. Boushley has the sacks full now. I have no idea why they are sticking with Boushley here or why they gave him that last AB. Six consecutive Indians made the basepaths. He lost his accuracy and control. And, he was getting hit hard and often. Now you bring in Bukauskas with only one down and the bases juiced. I have no problem proclaiming: I think that was a miscalculation from the coaching staff. The Indians announcers agree with me.
  8. RHP Caleb Boushley is coming unwound a wee bit here in the 6th. Up 0-2 in the count with one down, he walks the next batter. Men on 1st and 2nd. Sounds leading 8-3. Boushley's pitch count is now at 90. And J.B. Bukowski is warming up. It looks like they are going to leave Boushley in to fight through this jam.
  9. 5 K through 4 IP for LHP Nate Peterson. No runs. MUCH better showing than his last outing on the road in South Bend. You love to see it.
  10. And now a two-run single poke to RF. It's 8-3 Sounds. Boushley is giving up solid contact here in the 6th. His pitches that were low in the zone earlier are now up and in the zone - his Achilles' heel in every outing given his lower velo.
  11. 3B Tyler Black saves extra bases with a beautiful diving stab in full flight. He rises and throws a one-hop accurate throw to 1B but the runner beats it out by a good step. A really good play. On the very next play, however, Black is eaten up by a grounder that snuck under his back-handed glove. It was hit sharply but he showed poor form in the diving attempt - it was an easier play to be made but it was fairly ruled a hit. He could have, in the very least, dove and stopped the ball and had a chance at 3B. Either way, men on 2nd and 3rd now. One down. 8-1 Sounds now.
  12. The T-Rats saw the 4 run Tennessee first @ Biloxi and raised them two shots. A 6-run first inning. 6-0 T-Rats in the 2nd frame. INF Eduardo Garcia book-ended the run output with a two-run double.
  13. Delmarva continues to be a thorn in the Mudcats side. The Muddies lead 2-1 but they have left runners on base in every inning. They just stranded runners on the corners after Sibrian was thrown out at home on a beautiful throw from RF on what tried to be a sac fly.
  14. Mejias starts his second frame much like his first. Sigh. Line bloop single to RF. Takes the next batter 0-2 and walks him. Men on first and second. Nobody down. Not the type of stuff you can bring to this very talented Smokies offense. He then gives up an RBI linedrive single to RF. 5-0. Nobody down. Runners on the corners. Mejias is not going to last. And, it's going to test an already struggling Shuckers bullpen. Single to RF on the next pitch on a hanging off-speed dead center. 6-0. Runners back on the corners nobody down.
  15. The Shuckers had runners on the corners with 1 down facing the 4-0 deficit. Wes Clarke bloop pop out to shallow CF. Ernesto Martinez Jr. a first pitch high chopper groundout to 1B. We're on to the second frame.
  16. Chourio with a first AB four pitch walk. He is chasing Black's On Base record. He is now at 23 consecutive games.
  17. Owen Miller gapper bloop liner and he stretches it to a double with savvy base running. Men on 2nd and 3rd. 1 down still. Sounds are now up 7-0. You love to see it!
  18. Dorrian just smashed a single off the wall in RF. That ball was smoked. He is on One. Sounds lead 6-0 here in the 3rd frame. Goodness my oh my he is seeing that ball and swinging sauce.
  19. Yup. And it started with an opening walk. Then an oppo single down the line. Sucks. You can't not show up with your good stuff versus the Smokies. They are too good. He hung an absolute meatball slider right over the heart of the plate on the next pitch after giving up the single. Ugly outing early. Missed a back-to-back shot (104 mph off the bat) 402' dead CF off the top of the wall for a double. Just getting hammered.
  20. The Sounds are flashing some absolute leather here early in Indianapolis. Jones just made a charging shoelace diving face first grab on a liner to LF - it was a lunging poke off a slider down and in. They lead 4-0 and Boushley is benefiting from the troops who have absolutely shown up. I love it.
  21. Having recently played a 6-game series at Dayton, the T-Rats are now home to face the same Dragons. 3B Brock Wilken is back in the field at the hot corner. Alex Hall is back at 1B. LHP Nate Peterson will do his best to showcase improved stuff after his recent shellacking at South Bend. But, really, we are all grateful we will be awarded the home packages of extensive highlights and post-game podcasts.
  22. What's the Shuckers reward for a hard fought series 2-4 series loss @ Pensacola? A 6-game series verus the extremely talented Tennessee Smokies. C Jason Lopez getting the rare start behind the dish. 1B Ernesto Martinez Jr. will see if he can take his scorching hot work in High-A Wisconsin into his Southern League debut. RHP Christian Mejias will do his best to improve upon his last 5 IP outing. Can he give his team 3 runs or less earned? This will be a true test:
  23. C Brian Navarreto. Very good at baseball. That is all. Makes a heck of a charging scoop and twirl and rifle shot to 1B to grab the third out in the bottom of the first. I could watch him catch every night. Well, actually, I do. 😅
  24. Patrick Dorrian three-run line shot to straightaway CF. 4-0 Sounds after Rowdy Tellez scored on a WP. Dorrian. One of my favorites. Love him.
