  1. QUERO!!! HOLY COW. THAT was a MAMMOTH shot.
  2. Bullpen for Durham. We'll see a new arm. Adamczewski works a one out walk in the top of the fifth. Mudcats still clinging to a 2-0 lead. DeBerry has settled things. He works a clean 2nd. 2-0 Shuckers still trail. After a brief weather delay they are raring to get things going in Wisconsin.
  3. Berroa answers. Rips a single through the gap between 1B and 2B into RF. Runners on the corners. Nobody out.
  4. EMJ ropes a stand up double into the RF corner. That ball was absolutely scorched. 7th double of his season. Berroa is back to the dish. He's been the most impactful batter this evening. Let's hope he finds something here.
  5. Pratt goes down swinging at two consecutive balls at his ankles. His string of unimpressive AB's continues. Hasn't been a pretty second half. Meanwhile, Burke stays red hot sneaking a single into LF with the infield shadowed pull toward 2B.
  6. 0-2 count. Inside belt high four-seamer? Seymour's 2nd tonight. 28th on the season. I think, in second viewing, that was a cutter that just didn't, well, cut. 116.2 mph. Do you think Patrick is getting absolutely shelled these past two outings? Hint: he is. 3-2 Sounds trail.
  7. Anyhow, after a first batter pop out to 3B. DeBerry goes: -single to left CF -double inside the 3B line -double roped into the RF corner 2-0 deficit. AND, hey , just like that what would another inning be without another HR given up by Chad Patrick. This is unbelievable.
  8. Seriously. We are in August AND the Shuckers CF camera is still a relative disaster. EArly in the season it was completely out of alignment. Everything was tilted down to the right. Now? It's a complete smudefest. All the chalk - anything white - is smudged and jumping off the screen. Utterly annoying. Every year it is something down at Keesler Federal Park.
  9. What is that? 5 HR in his last 7 2/3 IP? Good gracious. It's definitely four but I feel like he gave up a third long ball his last start? He just doens't look very inspired right now.
  10. I see we are back to the completely blurry smudged CF camera in Biloxi. AND, just like that Chad Patrick hangs another dead center belt high off speed pitch (or sinker?) that is absolutely launched over the left CF wall. These pitches are just not good pitches. 2-2 game.
  11. Hernandez's off-speed stuff is really popping tonight. Lotta really good movement. Getting many a check swing strike.
  12. Black walks. He is caught stealing. Bitonti walks he is picked off and caught stealing leaving early. In unison everybody. Outs on the basepaths.
  13. Berroa singles to shallow CF and a slight misplay gives him all the space he needed to steal 2nd in the ordeal. He officially steals 3B. Quero SF to RF. 2-1 Sounds.
  14. Patrick escapes further damage. 2 K. Single into LF. Web Game diving stop and throw to 1B where EMJ grabs it in the splits on a short hop up the RF line. Incredible third out. 1-1 game. On to the third.
  15. First game back and the opposing team is already throwing baseballs at Payne again. Second inning. Pick-off attempt to 1B hits him right in the left ribs as he slid back to the bag. Yowch. He was in pain. He is staying in however as he told the trainer to go back. Meanwhile, on the next pitch, Adamczewski tried to leg out a hard hit gapper that was cut down in right CF and they gunned him down on the throw to second base. Beat him by a step. Dang it. 2-0 they head to the bottom of 2.
  16. They never start the bluechip college upperclassmen in Low-A. Always High-A placements. You'll get a Ragsdale in your line up soon enough though. That should be a fun addition.
  17. And, Patrick hangs another. And another is absolutely tanked over the left CF wall. Dead center floating duck off-speed. 1-1 game. He's giving up a lotta Johnsons the past two starts. Not a good trend.
  18. Here's your late Mudcats Line up card. Follow along:
  19. Hernandez opens his evening with two swinging K's and a line out to LF. 2-0 Muddies onto the 2nd.
  20. Bloop single into LF scores Adamczewski. 2-0 Muddies. Runners on 1st and 2nd for Mr. Anderson.
  21. Handelfry rips an oppo single into the left CF gap. That's a 1-0 Muddies lead. Men on corners. Nobody out. Noice!
  22. Adamczewski walks in five pitches. Two runners aboard. Nobody out. Muddies top of 1st.
  23. Black grounds into a DP directly to the 2B.
  24. Good start for the Sounds. Berroa BB and SB. Quero lines a bloop single into shallow LF down the line. It is 1-0 Sounds. Nobody out for Black. Payne returns and works a seven pitch walk. Noice.
  25. Losers of 10-of-12 and coming off a Sweep @ Home at the hands of those pesky Jumbo Shrimp, the Sounds will look to climb their way out of their ongoing offensive woes. Is tonight the night the bats get sizzling? I have absolutely zero idea. RHP Chad Patrick will look to bounce back after OF Joey Wiemer took him to the woodshed his last time on the bump:
