  1. I'm hoping it's more of the version we saw of Tobes before his most recent call-up and then during his call-up. He was solid. If we get that version? I think we are in good hands I don't know what to make of his most recent work with Nashville - the pitching programs for a lot of the arms has been quite a bit of directive tinkering and not so much concerned with results. I'm hoping he shows out. We know it is in his bag. Obviously, it's quite a tough line up to be called up to face!
  2. I was trying to find you! I am unsure if I did.
  3. I continue to love everything about RHP Garrett Hodges' season. Does he walk too many batters? Yes. 😅 43 K-to-27 BB on his season to date. BUT, he has three legitimate pitches as a late innings guy in his Heater, slider, and change-up. He tends to get a bit over-aggressive with his high-riding heater and missess too many pitches high or high and outside trying to get chase. He has to harness that in particular. But, his slider absolutely plays in on lefties. He sits 94-95 mph. The change-up, when he uses it, is definitely a pull-the-string type of pitch. He has the tools to keep advancing.
  4. Boy, it wasn't for lack of insurance run opportunities in the 7th and 8th. Bitonti stranded runners on 2nd and 3rd in the 7th. Rodriguez poked a single liner up the middle with two down and Walling at 2B. Really solid OF Assist from Lynchburg's CF'er. Beautiful one hop accurate throw on the charging scoop. Nabbed Walling by three feet. Aggressive send but, hey, tip the cap to the CF'er.
  5. Fowler: First Batter: First pitch sneaks in a gorgeous breaker on the outer black. Fantastic sneak one first pitch. Second pitch we get the ML view of the hitters arse. Very nice. Ball 1. Third pitch heater pulls glove side low and outside. Ball 2.He has a very very good breaking ball. Misses center low into the dirt - gets no chase. Ball 3. Heater lands outer half. Hitter is late. Sharp ground out to Bitonti at first. I'll say this right off the bat. He absolutely looks the part of an athlete. Good size. Good build. Composed. Good arm action. He and Bitonti wear the same chain, it appears. Bros being bros. Second Batter: Knee-high heater on the outer black. Strike One looking. We are getting no velo readings - Edwards is not in the booth. Gets the chase on a beautiful elevating four-seamer up and in just above the zone. Zesty pitch! OK, velo reading: that tickled 94 mph on the gun. 0-2 count. Misses outside on another 94 mph heater. Gets the K swinging on an upper corner four-seamer. Another beautifully located pitch. Third Batter: Another strike one on the upper corner outer black. Beautiful location. Looked four-seamer? Comes inside with a four-seamer and gets the foul into the seats down the 1B line. Gorgeous K looking on an Uncle Charlie. What an impresive outing. We saw, by my eyes, solely four-seamer and curveball/breaking ball. BUT, very accurate outside a few pitches. Two consecutive three-pitch K's in the 8th inning of a 3-1 game? Momentum baby. Fantastic debut.
  6. You want to see a prime example of Bitonti back into one of his swing funks? 0-1 count. Men on 2nd and 3rd. Two down. Off-speed belt high dead center. Very very hittable pitch. He sees it. Swings under it and flares a pop fly out to 3B foul territory. This is what he was doing swing-wise early in the year when he was in an even more pronounced slump. Tough sledding in an up-and-down year for the slugging first baseman. Anyhow, that ended the 7th inning. On to Fowler.
  7. How about a clean 1.0 IP of 0 H, 0 BB, and 2 K for Fowler in the 8th. Spicy! Can not wait to roll the tape.
  8. Fowler is debuting out of the Middies Pen. Top of 8. 3-1 Catfish are nibblin at a possible victory.
  9. Oh, hey, Adamczewski is 2-for-3 again with a double. Who knew he could hit Low-A pitching?! #PromoteHimBrewers #FreeAdamczewski 🤭 Of course, if Josh is indeed promoted before season's end - a promotion that is obviously deserved - that will gravely impact the Mudcats chances of reaching the post-season. The bats are pretty sleepy at present and have been for a spell.
  10. The latest news is 'No'. He has not been assigned. The most logical next news, imho, would be: he'll be assigned to the T-Rats for their next Home series.
  11. Today, picking up this Shuckers / Smokies continuation reminds me of how much I miss Luke Adams & Brock Wilken in that line-up. Also, we haven't seen Zavi Warren since July 30th and, yet, he has no official IL designation. 0-0 as they head to the bottom of the 7th.
  12. (Posted in the Alumni thread but...) Wowsers! Love this for Peters. Such an easy steady solid player to root for. To freshen any cobwebs in any memories, Peters was traded from the T-Rats several years back to the SF Giants in the failed RHP Trevor Rosenthal acquisition. He was later traded to the Rays when the Giants acquired INF Brett Wisely amidst a classic Rays overloaded roster crunch. Story of perseverance baby!
  13. Well, shiver me timbers. T-Rats Time Machine:
  14. Mendoza pitched a clean first frame w a K. The Shuckers couldn't capitalize on two singles and a walk in the sixth.
  15. Well, this news stinks. Ugh.
  16. Heck of a K to start that clip off. If we have a sword is that a javelin? 😅 If I remember correctly, Garcia was the pitcher who had been announced as to be signing with the D-Backs but it just never materialized? We signed him after the signing period? In essence a late lotto pick. That stiff is pretty dang interesting.
  17. Wow! Heck YES! What a season for the Southpaw. Absolutely thrilled for Him.
  18. "Wake up Honey, OF Carlos Doñe's Brewers PD Highlight Reel just dropped!" I do say: love the build and love the swing.
  19. I have a sneaking suspicion the next T-Rats Home game is going to be an electric Minor League atmosphere.
  20. The Sounds. The Sounds of Silence?
