  1. SS Daniel Guillarte strikes again: 3-for-3 (7th 2B), 1RBI, 1R, 1BB, 0K. Yeah baby. RHP's Alexander Vallecillo and Jesus Rivero have pitched 8 complete innings so far: 2H, 2BB, 0R, 12K. Yowza. 4-0 Brewers Blue lead.
  2. Yuppers. That was the Packers version of 'Brewer Fan' back in the day. FWIW.
  3. RHP Miguel Segura will get the nod for the Carolina Mudcats as they look to avenge last night's loss to the Fayetteville Woodpeckers. Moving up to the second spot in the batting order will be DH Hedbert Perez as CF Edquarqui Fernandez will move down to the fifth spot protecting C Jose Sibrian batting clean-up. Leading the way, as has been the case for some time, will be RF Hendry Mendez. Let's hope the young men can cut down their strikeout totals and pull out a victory.
  4. Back in Nashville, the Sounds look to widen their series lead on the Charlotte Knights as Brewers Ace Freddy Peralta looks to build off his recent rehab Start. INF Brice Turang is again in lead-off but he'll be in center field once again. Garrett Whitley and Keston Hiura will round out the corner outfield spots. 1B Jon Singleton will look to continue his fantastic July batting clean-up. INF Patrick Dorrian is again at third base prompting me to ask: Is everything ok with Mark Mathias? We'll see in the week ahead. Jakson Reetz gets his second game in three days behind home plate as he looks to synch with Freddy. Go Sounds!
  5. He may have been a late-game defensive substitution, but I certainly notice OF Joey Wiemer is still on the shelf after an awkward reaction to an awkward swing late two games ago. How problematic is this ongoing hand issue? Are we dealing with a nagging minor injury or are we seeing something chronic and inflamed? Tough sledding for the young man after such a torrid start to his 2022 season. This being said, Tristen Lutz is back in the line-up but as a DH as Noah Campbell is back manning the left field grass. INF Yeison Coca will be protecting the 'hot corner', Andruw Monasterio keeps his hot bat and glove at shortstop. Cam Devanney will get a much needed rest. Brandon Knarr will take to the Hill hoping to give the Shuckers a 3-1 series lead.
  6. Here's our T-Rats lineup as our beloved High-A squad looks to end a frustrating 10-game skid. Let's root them on as they look to turn things around and get back to winning ways: OF Terence Doston will get the nod in left field as OF Tristan Peters takes his hot bat to the DH slot (still batting lead-off, we see). Utility man extraordinaire, Wes Clarke, will look to build off his three-hit night yesterday as he mans 1B. Acosta, Piñero, and Murray once again round out the infield positions. Alex Hall is back behind home plate and the Rattlers will look to heavily lean on RHP Justin Jarvis hoping he'll bring his Ace stuff tonight. Best of luck, men. We're rooting for you to turn this ship back into smoother winning waters!
  7. Nashville is retiring Brewers legend Tim Dillards' jersey tonight. Awesome stuff: And, lemme tell ya, this bobblehead is sweet. It's truly awesome to see the Sounds invest so meaningfully in a player who gave them years of service. Congrats to Tim are most definitely in order:
  8. (7 minute, 55 second mark is the initial Jackson Chourio recorded Wisconsin media session - Arbert Cipion with some fantastic translating.)
  9. 20-year-old RHP Stanley Encarnacion's solid 3 IP (0 H, 0BB, 4K) goes for naught as RHP Waldin Rodriguez follows up a rough 1 IP, 5H, 1BB, 4ER, 1WP 8th inning. Starter, 18-year-old RHP Darling Solano takes the loss after his 4 IP, 1H, 3ER, 4K innings. The DSL Brewers 2 lose 7-2 to the DSL Phillies Red. The Brewers 2 had managed to pull within 3-2 in the top of the 7th after they had loaded the bases with one out. After a Demetrio Nadal ground out and force out to second base plated that second Brewers 2 run, Nadal then managed to steal second (his 14th steal of the season). With men on 2nd and 3rd and two down, OF Reminton Batista popped out in the foul territory beyond 3rd base. That was the young Brewers' last chance as the Phillies plated four runs off Rodriguez the following inning.
  10. Seven credited errors for the DSL Brewers 1 led to 4 unearned runs. Wooof. 5-3 they lose. Two apiece for INF's Jose Pena and Luis Watter and throw in the 16th error (throwing) of Jhonny Severino. It sure would appear 18-year-old righty Leonardo Rivera deserved better - he takes the 'L' after his 2 2/3 IP (2 unearned runs).
  11. True story: I had completely forgotten that was actually a thing. LOL. ?
  12. Let's get that party started right: Both players were discussed briefly (and glowingly) in my Tuesday evening report. Both players given notice by 'Brewers Player Development' twitter. Woot woot. Love it.

  14. Watkins was a minor thing and he's activated. But, the injury history in recent past is obvious cause for 'concern'. It was one of those things where the cost must have worked considering their budget constraints? And, there is familiarity there with members of the coaching staff. Watson's injury is a bummer for sure. It also seems like one of those deals whereby they got ahead of something that could have nagged him all season and required work after the season. It seems like it was a scope and 'clean'? Hard to tell. I think the O-Line, once again, will be more than fine. Even with Jenkins and Bakh both injured and unknown, there's a lot of depth there. And, now it's a lot of depth with many games under proverbial belts. Jake Hansen seems to be a sleeper rotation guy. I really like the toolkits of both rookies - Rhyan and Tom. Again, I think they're deep and they'll be just fine. To the Doubs thoughts: (more than 'just a speed guy') Long snapper is definitely a concern. But, given their investment in Bisaccia and his history in the ST realm, if there's a problem there this is a year they'll finally address it. That's my take. Those are my takes. LOL. As to a Packers forum similar to this? Way back in the day, I used to frequent what was then "Packer Chatters". BUT, I don't believe such a thing exists anymore. It's the Cheesehead TV comments section (not very enjoyable and I don't really like the layout at all) and Twitter mainly. SO, I think it's what we make of it here??
  15. The proof is in the pudding baby. He’s hitting gappers to the wall and he’s hitting over the wall. That shot to dead center is certified rare in that Biloxi ballpark. i think more than anything, from my vantage point, he just looks and feels more sure and more confident. He is playing like an absolute stud right now. I’m going to enjoy it as long as it lasts.
  16. This is the best stretch he’s played in the Minor Leagues by a considerable margin. He looks incredible. It’s still a matter of: Can he stay healthy and can he build off this and maintain some semblance of this? As of yet an unknown. But, hey, we have several a “If he can really put it together…” in the system right now. It’s a fun time to be watching these games with what we’re seeing in certain areas.
  17. I went back and watched. There may have been a slight grimace when he rounded third and fist bumped with teammates. Nothing definitive. Could just be a planned defensive replacement - Joey is a considerably better defender. Bodes well for Joey's hand, tho, let's hope!
  18. Oh baby, I do love this version of Garrett Mitchell. My goodness he looks in prime form. He's moving like a gazelle but built a bit like a jaguar. In the post-game interview, he was asked by Zinzarella: "You've been given a 70 speed score. What do you have to say about your speed?" Garrett pauses. Looks at him: "I think my speed speaks for itself ON the field." Yeah babbbbby.
  19. Who shuts it down other than RHP Nash Walters. Man, has he been fantastic since June 9th. Shutdown. No runs since that date. That's 17 innings scoreless over 15 appearances. 2 k's tonight. 0 H. 0 BB. Shuts them down. Shuckers win 6-1.
  20. Agreed. It's a really really good 'problem' to have.
  21. Oh my, we have a Thomas Dillard bomb to jump in the pool partayyyyy! A 1-1 game has broken open 6-1! Woot Woot!
  22. My goodness did Mitchell crush that ball to dead Center. Glorious nectar! 102 off the bat, 413 feet it would appear via Statcast. You'll notice the intentional step on 3B in this home run trot. The umps took a Shuckers run off the board in the bottom of the sixth when Lutz ripped a double to the gap and the umps ruled Mitchell didn't touch 3B. LOL. I just went back and watched the replay. He definitely did NOT miss 3B. What a ridiculous call. Umpires gonna umpire.
  23. Tristen Lutz says "Hold my beer, Sir!" LOL. What an 8th inning breakout. Let's get Cam Robinson in there and steal another victory from these crusty Biscuits! We have an Oppo Laser sighting:
  24. INF Daniel Guillarte is really starting to catch my eye for the Brewers Gold. We might have something here. He's really keeping a nice k:bb ratio (26:14, respectively). Decent average. Decent OPS. 7 errors between 2B, SS, and 3B isn't wonderful but it also isn't turrible. We'll have to monitor this further.
