  1. Check this list out: (Zoom in to the Top 10) (Also, look at sneaky RHP Kevin Briceno. Huzzzah!) (Double Also, @CheeseheadInQC: Look in the 30's - offensively)
  2. He's fast. Very fast.
  3. Another day. And we see another 2-for-4 3 rbi performance from my summer DSL heartthrob, Yeison Perez. I will not calm down my enthusiasm for what he is doing. That wouldn't be any fun!
  4. I dunno, my friend. I think it's quite easy to see Ethan drop into that 10-15 range given his struggles since his first promotional Big Club start. He's appeared to have stalemated himself - and, I want to be clear, my arbitrary ranking are always changing due to currency bias. He appears to desperately need refinement of a 3rd and exploration of a 4th pitch or he could be trending toward a middle-inning reliever. Now, he may be working on these pitches on the side and isn't comfortable as of yet - which is often the case. But, my overall point is I think 13th isn't unfair. And, I say this having been and still being a very big Ethan Small fan.
  5. That's a fantastic interview. Love his understanding and nuance and evolving approach. Man, I'm excited to watch him in Biloxi and hope he can share his grip learnings from this year to the greater staff. Fun stuff!
  6. Hear ye', hear ye', hear ye'. Love every aspect of you and Jim talking about this. There are people who are paid to make decisions and there are young men all striving for the same goal(s) of making it and sticking to the 'Big Leagues'. I'd like to support each and every one of us here refraining from speculating on career-altering decisions like a 'release'. And, in the interim, enjoy Minor League baseball. The sacrifices these young men make to pursue their dreams is nothing short of amazing as far as I'm concerned. I hope each and every one of the Brewers players reaches their potential.
  7. As always, with all trades; with all draftpicks; and with all FA signings, I'm going to wait and see how this shakes out - this year and into the future. There's just too many unknowns with every aspect of this trade. As others have pointed out, parts of this trade might be used in trades over the next 24 hrs. OR parts of this trade might be enabling parts of trades in the next 24 hrs. I'll always trust the personnel department has a more nuanced approach and understanding of why they're doing what they're doing. I'll be excited, either way, to see new prospects in the system - to watch them and share my thoughts. I'll also miss Josh Hader the pitcher. He's been a fantastic Brewer - an all time great. And, I wish him all the best success in the West.
  8. Hey are you that guy who posts in the Minor League forums and writes Minor League reports? I like your thoughts!
  9. I love you Ethan Small. PLEASE refine that breaking ball. Hey, get spry, and start working on a <gasps> fourth pitch ?
  10. Suddenly feeling really excited about the Nashville Sounds outfield. Where do we go from here? Enjoying the moment!

  11. Our new Double-A outfield is Campbell, Lutz, Peters. I have no idea how or where the Brewers will be supplementing from...but the Biloxi OF is now extremely thin. Let's remember, Felix Valerio has played LF throughout the year. They might send Reetz back down? Hard to tell. Either way, this is just extremely exciting for our three current top OF prospects. Do they 'demote' Corey Ray (?). I don't imagine they'd do so...but they really have absolutely zero CF'ers in Biloxi. This rotating 'thin' amongst the clubs is a thing. It's hard to fathom the meeting notes in the personnel departments, eh?
  12. Remember, friends, Wiemer was red hot before his hand injury. He had been red hot for more than a year and he now has 25 SB to pair with his usual excellent defense. He's in a slump. This happens. It stinks, as we all know, but they happen. BUT, let's not act like the recent play (and it has been magnificent) of Mitchell and Frelick suddenly extirpates the absurd play we saw from Joey for a year and a half. This all balances itself out. I, for one, am extremely happy all three young men move together and get the chance together. I'll tell you this, with Manfred's Man on 2B tonight...in the bottom of the 10th inning...I watched a very comfortable Joey Wiemer take a couple classically Wiemer violent swings I hadn't seen in quite some time. He looks healthy. He then took a walk. His talent hasn't suddenly left the building. At all. He just literally is in a slump. You let talents like him play through it, imho. If he's healthy, you let him find his way. It's part of the process. My two absolutely meaningless centavos.?
  13. This is me after I watch a Brice Turang error (they just don't happen all that often folks):
  14. Meanwhile, in Nashville, we're onto the 7th inning and it's a 1-1 ballgame. LHP Ethan Small with a fine outing - 5 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 4 K. OH, and what's that? The lone run was via a Corey Ray solo shot? Yes, indeed. He picks up where he left off pre-IL stint. Let's go, Sounds. Let's bring another 'W' home!
  15. Oh baby. It. Was. A. Sight. To behold. Tense moments. AND, well, the season total of runs now stands at 113-116 Montgomery after this one. Do you think these teams are evenly matched? The records don't lie. ? Let's watch that AGAIN. AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN.
  16. We have bases juiced (Wiemer walk, Devanney sacrifices to the warning track in deep right center and Monasterio trots to third, Wiemer steals second base, Lutz walks) AND it's Thomas Dillard to the dish to try and win it. Two down. The tension is palpable through the muggy Biloxi air! DOH! A first pitch pop up to shallow far left field. And, we're on to the 11th inning.
  17. Man, Garrett Mitchell just hit an absolute perfect contact laser directly to the 1B manning the gap between 1st and 2nd base. Sometimes the process does not get met with the result. Boooooo. Baseball is such a game.
  18. And RHP Cam Robinson gets two groundouts on two pitches. The runner moves to third. He then gets the weak 2-1 ground out to Gabe Holt at second base. Thomas Dillard made a fantastic stab of an extremely hard hit grounder down the first base line for out number one. It's the Shuckers turn to bring in Manfred's Man.
  19. A Jason Lopez groundout, a Frelick full count strikeout, and a 1-2 Monasterio strikeout close the 9th. We're on to the Manfred's Man innings. As we are yet again in Extras. These two teams. 'Evenly matched' comes to mind.
  20. And this is the Kent Hasler we saw all season in High-A before his promotions. He has absolutely settled down. He ends his second scoreless inning with a three-pitch strikeout of a dangerous lefty. Just nasty stuff. He opened the count with an absolute stripe on the outside corner. He followed it out with a nasty slider in. He closes it out with a nasty slider down and in for the whiff. It's on to the bottom-half where the Shuckers will look to close this out.
  21. It's 2-2 and we're headed to the ninth inning in Biloxi. Let's see who can pull out another nailbiter here. It would appear surging RHP Kent Hasler is back on the hill to give his second inning of relief work. These Biscuits and Shuckers seem to only know close games or blow-outs. It's quite the thing. Through 20 games (today's is Game 21) played versus each other it is currently a scoring lead of 114-107 Biscuits. That's dang close. Let's hope the Shuckers can pull this out!
  22. That's tricky, tricky, tricky. Lutz really doesn't play right field. Whereas you can move Joey all over the OF and give him reps (and, this gets into: do you give him mental reps, does he need rest for his hand, OR do you let him play through it. What does the manager, the organization, Joey, and the training staff think? We have no idea here), you can't really move Lutz. He's pretty much a LF or a DH. Hamilton can play LF and 1B and DH. It will be very interesting to see who gets promoted to Nashville. There's a lot of moving chairs organizationally at present. AND, we don't even have draft picks placed yet. This is a fun time of the year.
  23. Be still my heart: OF Tristan Peters has been promoted to Biloxi. SO excited for the young man. This is such a well-deserved promotion. (Looks at today's Box Score: Tristan hit his 7th two-hit game in a row. Talk about earning it after an already incredible season)
  24. I don't know, my friend. When he's hitting like he's hitting they'll find a place for him. I'd say, CF is the only outfield spot out of the question and they don't really have a need to move him to RF with needing to get Joe Gray Jr. reps (and Chourio in CF). Seventh 2-hit game in a row today. He's taken an already fantastic season and taken it to new levels. He's now approaching many a leaderboard top 5 offensively. He's scrappy. Unassumingly athletic - because he's on the 'smaller' side - but he has decent speed. Not great, but certainly playable and not a negative. But, man, he's really fundamentally sound. Feisty. And just goes 100% every play every game. He's a player you just love to watch. And, to boot, he just doesn't make mistakes - anywhere, really. That's a guy you love in your system. Where he ultimately goes? It's too early to tell. But, he's laying a really really solid foundation. Such a pleasantly surprising season. Other than fellow Canuck Tyler Black he's been, far and away, the best player on the T-Rats roster for those that have been rostered all-season.
  25. Sounds like the Biloxi Shuckers. Welcome to the partayyyyyyy.? It's anything but straightforward baseball in Biloxi.
