  1. Jonathan Davis is at it again. A two-run single ripped to left field and it's suddenly 7-3. What more can you say about JD of late. Holy hot sauce!
  2. The Sounds are doing what the 2022 Sounds do. With the bases juiced, Alex Jackson takes the inside breaking pitch off his thigh. One batter later, Monasterio works the count full and takes ball four just off the outside of the plate. It's now 5-3 Sounds. If this holds, Miguel Sanchez will be in line for the Win. Luke Barker is warming up in the Pen. Bases still juiced and we have the ever dangerous Jonathan Davis coming to the hot dish.
  3. Carlos Luna is facing trouble here in the bottom of the seventh. Two conescutive doubles followed by a single to right field and there are still none down and the game is now tied 4-4. Hopefully he can get out of this without further damage.
  4. Have a Triple-A 2022 debut, Andy Otero! He has now completed 3 straight scoreless innings of one walk and one strikeout ball. It is a 3-3 ball game now as we head to the bottom of the sixth. These are the Nashville money innings. Let's see if we can see another late victory!
  5. Felix Valerio just extended his hitting streak to 11 games on a rope double to left field tying the game and scoring Gabe Holt from second base. Thomas Dillard follows suit with an opposite field deeeeeeep fly ball off the wall in left and it's suddenly 3-2 Biloxi.
  6. Godley had a four pitch walk to Jonny. He beaned Mark Mathias on the side of his helmet, and he just threw an extremely wild pitch to Tyler White over Tyler's head to the backstop. He then failed to cover home base and the catcher threw the bull right into Jonny Davis' leg. 1-0 on zero hits (you have to love it). He then walked Tyler on 5 pitches.
  7. Just so we are aware: the Sounds enter tonight's game with a ridiculous 4 game streak whereby every starter has reached base at least once. This is, ummm, absurd. Yes, absurd is the word. They face former Sound and former Bickford nemesis Zach Godley in a clear Louisville bullpen game.
  8. Yup. It's the same illness that has been making the rounds. Singleton recently as well as the same illness Hiura talked about post-game. Not the news we were looking for!
  9. After Fernando Olguin pitched a scoreless three-up and three-down opening inning, Arbert Cipion opened up the bottom half with a drive over the wall in left (his third of the year). On to the second, and it's 1-0 Mudcats.
  10. I have to say, going from Ethan Small to Thomas Jankins feels unfair. Let's go Janky!!!!
  11. Alright my friends, I need to go run some laps and do some burpies to prep for tonight's Minor League games. Don't forget: Ethan Small takes the hill for Nashville tonight. In 'Sweetie's' mind Ethan is due for a call up:
  12. Let's just hope they didn't consult with Severino on the pregnancy. Am I right or am I right? (Too soon?)?
  13. What was absolutely beautiful about that Keston game-winning HR is that swing was the exact same swing I saw in his 7rbi game in Jacksonville. He is clearly in a better place in the batter's box. THIS is why Stearns wanted him back up. He sees the consistency in the swing. He knows his potential. This brings me back to what I've been saying all year long: We have an absurd amount of riches to fill out our roster. We have really good problems going on between Milwaukee and Nashville. I truly don't envy the position of making the calls. Why is Brice Turang still in Nashville? Why is Jonny Davis not getting a call-up? Why can't Mark Mathias get a shot? David Dahl is absolutely crushing it this year. Weston Wilson is a literal utility knife of baseball. What about the lights out performance of Sadzeck. I mean, the list literally goes on. These are hard choices.
  14. Absolutely a good one. It's hard not to root for him. And, admittedly, I kind of play the part of the Minor League 'Dad'. ? I've become 'that guy'. It's kind of gross. LOL. Apologies.
  15. I know. I know my friend. I probably overstated my card there. You're a good one, Sir. I am just a proud fan right now?
  16. I just want all our men to experience success. I'm unafraid to admit: I'm a wee teary eyed. This is a regular season game. Maybe meaningless in the grand scheme of things. BUT, this was Trevor Kelley's first Big League victory under very difficult circumstances. That was just a HUGE redemption swing lifting his team to victory. These are the sports moments, folks. What can you say about Keston Hiura shrugging off that dropped throw and leading his team to a 'W'? That's the stuff of winners. I am truly touched.
  17. How about this: We are a good team regardless. That's my take.
  18. I can not describe how happy I am for Trevor Kelley. What an evening for his family. Keston, what can you say? THAT is how you atone for a mistake. You just LOVE to see it. We all still know Keston is a defensive liability but he is obviously still so dangerous at the plate. Just. Wow.
  19. YESSSSSSS. OMG Kesty. i take it ALL back. LOL. WHHEEEEEEEW?
  20. I'll politely disagree on Kelley señor. That was a fine inning. He gave up a first pitch oppo jam shot. That was a big league poke hit. He settled down and was excellent. This is his first big league inning since 2020. I was quite impressed.
  21. Have a call up Trevor Kelley. Hell of an inning given the circumstances. What can you do about a well-executed jam shot to right field. We can work with this!
  22. I don't want to rag on Hiura. I really don't. I think he's a fine young man and a likable person. The throw was off the bag from a typically dependable fielder in Wong. BUT, part of your job at First is to make those plays. If the throw is off, move off the bag and ensure you catch the ball. This is the tenth inning. And, I would politely argue, in the make or break innings having Keston in any position other than DH - given we can now use the DH in 2022 - is an accident waiting to happen. It just is what it is.
