Shuckers get a gift. After a Vargas K looking, Lara hit a hard hit grounder right to 1B with the infield in. The throw was wide and off the catcher's mitt and they would have had Spain in a rundown. 3-0 Shuckers. Lara takes second when the ball went to the backstop. -
Spain leads off the 2nd. Falls behind 0-2. Works it 2-2. Rips a triple to the right CF gap onto the warning track. Pitch was outside. He grabbed it none the less.

A ground out to 2B advances Candelario to 3B. A poke sac fly to LF scores him. 3-2 Sounds. Two down for Huddy. Nice to see RHP KC Hunt with a very clean and efficient first frame! Two weak ground outs. And a K swinging. Noice. 2-0 Shuckers.

And after that misplay, Hudson gives up a 1-2 double to the LF wall. 3-1 Sounds lead. Belt high heater in a 1-2 count? Not a fan.

AND, we have a Tyler Black misplay on a liner to his glove side. Tough play. Short hop liner. Still a play he can make. BUT, as we know, a play Black often does not make because he can't really play defense. Lead-off man aboard at 2B as a result to open Hudson's first inning of work in the 7th.

Hernandez sees the first run cross. He just gave up a gapper triple with two down as well with Ibarguen up and in in RF. Meanwhile, Dalbec pokes Black home with the casual single to CF. 2-0 Nashville.

Delgado makes up for the Error with a diving stop preventing a seeing eye single up the middle and helps Zimmerman grab his second out. Runner on 1st. Two down. 1-0 Sounds bottom 5.

Beautiful fundamental baseball nabs an out at 3B and preserves the 1-0 lead from now. Ibarguen hit Bitonti on a relay in the middle infield - heads up to both. Bitonti catches the runner who had run through the stop sign and couldn't get back to 3B. Accurate throw gunned him down. Di Turi placed the tag. It was a single to RF after two consecutive BB's from Hernandez. He has fallen behind 3-0. Gets is 3-2. Gets a swinging K on a beautiful slider. Incredible work. 5 K for Hernandez through three innings. The youngster has so much grit.

Rain has let up in Augusta as the Mudcats still lead 1-0 in the bottom of the 3rd. Hernandez opened his third frame with a beautiful swinging 1-2 K on an outer black change-up. Gorgeous pitch. Shuckers are still Delayed.

Alfaro an opening oppo taco puts the Sounds on the board. It's 1-0 Nashville. His 14th of his season. That was a carrying muscle shot on an outside slider. 107 mph off the bat. Very impressive poke.

Zimmerman works around a lead-off walk to open his 4th. He K's his 2nd. Works around a Delgado error on a weakly flared DP ball (couldn't get the ball to 2B cleanly) with a ground out to Zamora at SS (force out to 3B) and a 3rd K. He is looking very sharp (as usual over the past two months). 0-0 game headed to the top of the 5th.

Hey that same ump just blows a DP call against the Mudcats. Rodriguez clearly beat the DP throw at 1B. No matter, he's out. LOL. It's an RBI DP however. 1-0 Mudcats. Rain begins to fall.

Oh hey tuned in just in time to see an infield ump blow a call at 2B against the Mudcats. Shocking.

I am putting out feelers for a mid/late summer 2024 Brewers Colin Rea bit of work tonight. Maybe something akin to his July 9th outing at Home vs Pittsburgh - 6 H, 2 BB, 1 HR, 7 ER over 5.0 IP. That'd be real nice for the Feels.
