  1. 5 punchies for Cargo through 3 IP after that 2-run shot in the 1st. Got him with a 91 mph high heater above the zone. Really mixing beautifully since the dinger. Love to see it!
  2. 4 K for Cargo (gorgeous 3-2 outer black slider) through 2 2/3 IP. He has hit a groove and is really mixing it up quite nicely.
  3. Two consecutive innings Birchard has stranded a one out runner at 3B. After the lead off double, he saw a line out one-hop to Areinamo at 2B. He then K'd the next batter swinging. He then got the pop up to 2B. Flirting with disaster but the T-Rats still lead 1-0 into the 3rd frame.
  4. Cargo ends his frame with a swinging K after he threw five consecutive change-ups. Really nice bounce back frame after ending his first frame with a K as well. Meanwhile, Birchard leads off his 2nd hanging a high breaker and it is hit for a double into RF. Castillo isn't the most nimble in the OF grass. Valiant effort. He was incapable of making the sliding catch. And, Birchard falls behind immediately 2-0 to the next batter.
  5. Beautiful K on a nasty 1-2 hook on the outer black to start Cargo's second inning of work. We are likely looking at a 65 pitch max for Cargo tonight. Dalbec flashes the leather as well with a gorgeous sliding stop into foul territory behind the first base bag with the easy savvy scoop back to Carlos for the second out. Everything about Dalbec's game is underrated. More than adequate defensively.
  6. Andrick Nava lines a first pitch single past the QC diving SS to bring Castillo home from 3B. 1-0 T-Rats. Hall to the dish.
  7. AND Bobby Dalbec absolutely ropes a two-run jack inside the LF foul pole on a hanging curveball in a 2-2 count. 409 feet just inside the pole. The Cameron/Dalbec show continues. 10 HR and 40 RBI in 55 game as a Sound for Bobby. Love him. 2-2 game.
  8. Daz Cameron just ripped a 1-2 sinker up the middle for a single extending his hitting streak to 8 games. Cameron quickly steals second base with Dalbec at the dish. Birchard got the swinging K and a first pitch fly out to the wall in LF to end his first inning of work.
  9. Ahhhh, yes, ahead 0-1 in the count 'The Birch' unleashes a heater high and inside and to the backstop. 'Wild Thing' is en fuego early.
  10. And, we're back! Our first walk of RHP Ryan Birchard's evening happens with one out in the first. Was ahead in the count as well - a sight I see all too often for 'The Birch'.
  11. Nice recovery, however for Cargo. Line out to shallow right CF - charging Oliva grabs it with the underhand scoop. Gets the K on an outside slider - three consecutive sliders to get the swinging K on the final one.
  12. Unimpressive early work from returning RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez. Familiar loss of control in a one out walk - nothing close. Then in a 2-2 count, after several foul offs, he hangs an inside breaking ball for a two-run jack over the RF wall. Sounds trail 2-0 early.
  13. Looking at that Brewers box score is like looking at a recent Brewers DSL box score where every Brewers has at least one poke. Glorious
  14. The recent Nashville Sounds version of Tobias Myers was as close as we saw him to his best 2024 version. He was dialed in. That version of Tobias is an absurd luxury to have for bullpen mop-up duty. Love this pitching staff. Truly love this pitching staff.
  15. LET'S GO! What a fantastic way to answer after a frustrating 1-0 loss at a very good team's place.
  16. - RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez was officially activated from the 7-Day IL by the Nashville Sounds

I love me some RHP Bishop Letson. I love me some 2B Josh Adamczewski. And, I love me some Marco Dinges. I think it's clear Pratt has hit a small plateau at Double-A Biloxi - as a result, he's lost some of his sheen from my POV. The fact I easily put Jadher in the 20-to-30 range tells you how deep and talented our current system is: I'm a known Jadher truther but I have a hard time putting him ahead any of these players even though I could rationalize it in many ways. Our 20-through-30 will easily outperform our 1-through-20 many weeks of the Minor League season. I'm reluctant to put Melvin Hernandez or Manuel Rodriguez in the Top 20's until I see what their stuff does in the Southern League - that may just be me but that's a big jump in competition and I need to see that velo play against stiffer competition. I am at a point where, until I see consistent defensive opportunities and strikeout numbers coming back to Earth, Mike Boeve is no longer a Top 20 prospect for me. INF/OF Tyler Black is nowhere near my Top 20 at present and that's just wild n' wooly. I think guys like INF Ethan Murray and LHP Tate Kuehner - who aren't even in this list - could very easily be impact players today in Triple-A - extremely underrated players who fall outside these lists. That's a testament to the quality of depth we have system-wide. I feel the same way about INF Fillipo Di Turi who continues to not get any of the accolades he deserves. He is an incredibly solid player who is way too often overlooked.

  19. Look out now: RHP Jose Nova has consecutive scoreless outings with two Saves. More importantly, today, 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K. Clean and pure. As I've said since his first Low-A outings of 2025: Absolutely has 'the stuff' it has strictly been a matter of controlling it and finding the zone. IF he can keep some semblance of this moving forward, it would be a massive development for the back end of the Mudcats Pen. Miles to go.
  20. Two Out Salami tastes the best, I might add.
  21. That's the way to break out of a month long slump baby! Let's GO!
  22. Adamczewski's bat is truly something. 2-for-3 again already today. Grabbed his 2nd SB as well. Meanwhile, Made hit his 20th double. He was also been picked off and caught stealing. His base running blunders are honestly my only critique of Made at this point of the season. Slumps happen. His defense has improved immeasurably. The bat trends toward massive upside. The needless and brain fart outs on the base paths are highest on my list. Not concerned. It is annoying, however. 😅 Mudcats lead 4-0 headed to the 5th. Hernandez has gone 4.0 IP of 5 'scattered' hits, 1 BB, and 4 K.
  23. OF Brewer Hicklen has been DFA'd by the Tigers That unsavory high clip K rate continues to follow Hicklen, unfortunately. Best of luck moving forward, Brewer!
