  1. A game like Sunday makes it all too easy to ignore the fact the Brewers soundly beat the Nats in the first two games of the series.

  3. We're going to try doing this every month of the season and see how things turn out. In case some of you aren't aware, we launched the prospect tracker and your votes determine its order! Here is the list as it stood on May 1st. A reminder! Aaron Ashby is no longer available, he has graduated out of prospect status with 60 career IP. Who's your new number one? Vote and help us determine the June rankings! Aaron Ashby Current position: 1 Joey Wiemer Current position: 2 Garrett Mitchell Current position: 3 Sal Frelick Current position: 4 Ethan Small Current position: 5 Brice Turang Current position: 6 Hedbert Perez Current position: 7 Jeferson Quero Current position: 8 Freddy Zamora Current position: 9 Tyler Black Current position: 10 Felix Valerio Current position: 11 Jackson Chourio Current position: 12 Mario Feliciano Current position: 13 Antoine Kelly Current position: 14 Joe Gray, Jr Current position: 15 Eduardo Garcia Current position: 16 Zavier Warren Current position: 17 Abner Uribe Current position: 18 Hendry Mendez Current position: 19 Russell Smith Current position: 20
  4. My understanding is that they're going to do this either way, they simply prefer a six man rotation and are now down to a five man rotation. I don't know if that's enough for them to call up a new starter but we'll see.
  5. We have a long ways to go before that happens. ? But days like today are really important to revitalizing a site. Each time this happens, we increase awareness of BF and after a few times seeing us, some of those people start coming back every day. A few of them create accounts. A few of them start commenting. And that’s how we keep a community lively and vibrant.
  6. And the day isn't even over yet. So far we'd had about 7,000 people visit the site today, thanks to these two stories: https://brewerfanatic.com/news-rumors/milwaukee-brewers/the-weekly-the-end-is-near-for-american-family-field-r147/ https://brewerfanatic.com/news-rumors/milwaukee-brewers/lorenzo-cain-options/ That's a record for both Brewer Fanatic and BrewerFan from the time user data started being recorded in November of 2006! Over 15 years ago!
  7. If he goes on the IL, will we see a starter called up or will the Brewers just use Ashby for a couple of turns?
  8. They can’t be good, they’re not winning right now.
  9. So I see things have not gone as planned for the Brewers today.
  10. This is where baseball fans go wrong and that’s win probability. You do not use your best relievers in a one run deficit because the win probability is surprisingly low. The inverse is true, naturally. The win probability of that Milner inning was 99.06%. Literally less than 1 in 100 times will a baseball team lose in that situation. So yeah, Milner had a bad day. The team still won because 99.06%.
  11. Or just say “back of the bullpen”, as in the guys who are only used in mop-up or long relief duty. But that’s also not Milner.
  12. More commonly referred to as a “middle reliever”.
  13. Personally, I’ve never heard “front end reliever”. I generally hear it called “back end of the bullpen”. But we’re all talking about the same thing so whatever.
  14. But if you read and listened more into how modern baseball organizations are run, you wouldn’t give off such outrage vibes. As a comparison point, do you complain that NFL head coaches no longer call plays? I mean, why are they even there if they don’t call plays?
  15. Are you complaining that the manager is being given quality information and is acting upon that information? No offense but I truly do not understand some baseball fans.
  16. Eh, Wong, maybe not the best idea to swing on a bad pitch that early. Oh well.
  17. They need to have the best record in baseball or everything is a mirage.
  18. I think the point is that these kinds of decisions are best made 5-ish years ahead of time to see it all done by the expiration of the contract/agreement. That doesn't leave a ton of time to hash out which direction is the best path forward.

  20. I'd have to do some digging but I'm relatively confident they couldn't put a roof in that location. Either way, it doesn't really matter that much to me, as my extreme preference is no roof so however they got there is fine with me. Target Field's views would have really suffered with a roof over the stadium, particularly right field.

  22. I'm not bashing Rosenthal - I think he's great - but that tweet aged like fine wine. Or the opposite of that. I get confused sometimes.
