  1. I wanted to vote for him but just couldn’t do it.
  2. I don’t spend a lot of time on a tablet. What is frustrating you about that experience?
  3. I understand the frustration but what was Stearns to do? Outside of trading away farm pieces, there isn't a lot more he can do, as the Brewers currently sit at the 19th highest payroll according to Sportrac, just behind the Tigers and Twins, both considerably larger markets. Maybe it's time to push all the chips into the middle of the table and trade the farm but outside of that move, Stearns doesn't have a ton of wiggle room to make big moves to shore up any part of the team. He's working in the margins, mostly, because it's all he can do.
  4. I mean, they kinda have to do that if he comes in under a 100 OPS+ again, which came in just under last season.
  5. Will Yelich regain his power stroke? Will Urias take another step forward? Come the beginning of October (and hopefully preparation for the postseason), who will sit atop the Brewers leaderboard?
  6. I think this is important to keep in mind. I basically write off the 2020 season for a bunch of reasons but Yelich wasn't even that bad that year, he just wasn't MVP Yelich. So it was only last season that was a real problem and single seasons go badly for players all the time. More data is needed, IMO.
  7. You just described Joe Mauer pre- and post-concussion. But, unlike Yelich, there was an explanation for it. A concussion is wildly different than taking a ball off the leg.
  8. The game threads exist in the Brewers forum now. The next morning they will be moved to the game thread archive forum, last on the list of forums.
  9. I’ve followed the Brewers quite a bit. I don’t think I’d bat Yelich third at this point but I’m not sure he’s entirely cooked, either. But either way, he should probably move down the order. Having a guy that puts the ball on the ground a lot hitting behind the leadoff duo isn’t exactly optimal.
  10. Still a lot of baseball to play and the weather was awful out there. Hopefully we look back at this as a blip on the radar and nothing more.
  11. Well, 161 more to go. Still stings a bit to not get a win whenever Burnes is on the mound, though he really didn’t have much today.
  12. Damn, I really thought Cain had that one.
  13. He didn't stand a chance against that change-up. That was an ugly PA.
  14. I'm already excited to see the pitch clock enforcement in 2023.
  15. A textbook catch, throw, dive, roll, tag to get the runner.
  16. Not a thrilling inning but it's the first one of the season so I'll take it!
  17. The Brewers went 15-4 against the Cubs last year. I think we're all okay with the idea of them doing that again.

  19. Yeah, and I get that... but not starting Stroman at home to give you a better chance for an Opening Day win? That's...
  20. Well, they have Stroman. For pretty obvious reasons, I would choose him over Hendricks. Wonder why they didn't take that route?
  21. Sorry for the delay in getting this up, everyone! I'm literally on a plane leaving LAX as I type this... Anyway, we have our first Opening Day since the site switch-over and I'm excited to watch Burnes pitch today! Who's your pick to click today? I'm taking Yelich. I think he rebounds a little this year and starts off the season strong against a righty on the mound.
