  1. Garver just can't stay healthy and it's a bummer. He was a menace behind the plate early in his career and the Twins - they're kinda Brewers-lite in this regard - have a knack for taking hit-first "catchers" and turning them into legitimate MLB catchers. Garver was their first success story and four years ago, his future was as bright as could be... and he hasn't played in more than 87 games in a season since.
  2. If he'll work for McDonald's gift certificates, Oakland might be interested.
  3. I don't think they'll decline it but he's pricey enough that the cost for him shouldn't be high.
  4. Awhile back, I proposed a Wiemer for Miranda (and probably plus) deal. I think it makes sense for both teams. Strong disagree on Julien, I think he's borderline untouchable from the Twins perspective. His defense is shaky at second but good lord, that bat and discipline. His discipline is elite with his absolute refusal to swing at balls out of the zone but also has pretty good power. As for Polanco, I think there's a pretty good chance the Twins are looking to deal him and if the price is right, I'd definitely want Polo on the Brewers. He gets injured too often, is getting older, but takes professional PAs and is a really nice stabilizing force in a lineup.
  5. I think it would be minimized and likely not exist at all. LOOGY guys usually have fewer pitches and get into less of a rhythm due to how few batters they face overall. But it'd still be interesting to see the numbers.
  6. I found this really interesting. Obviously, this is only talking about Montgomery but I'd like to see a more comprehensive look at lefty starters in general to see if this is wider-ranging than just one pitcher. http://tangotiger.com/index.php/site/article/plesac-says-to-not-stack-your-lineup-with-rhh-against-lhp
  7. Honestly, if I was trying to make a trade with the Twins for a power bat, I'd try to get Trevor Larnach on the cheap. He just hasn't had a healthy run with the team and keeps being squeezed out of the roster. His price should be quite low and his upside is still quite high.
  8. He's relatively legit. I don't know if he's 144 wRC+ legit but there's a good chance he sticks as an above average corner bat. His defense, I'm not so sure about. His range is lacking but he has a 99th percentile arm and that's not an exaggeration. Joey Gallo said Wallner has the strongest arm he's ever seen. Joey Gallo. He's the classic power lefty guy: big power, questionable hit tool, Ks a bunch, good discipline, kinda bad or bad defense at a corner spot. So overall, Wallner is an intriguing player that I think is overperforming a bit. But maybe this is just who he is; considering how many times the Twins have had a power lefty bat come up and underperform, maybe it's time for them to have one come up and overperform.
  9. A sense of dread came over me when Longoria caught that and, in the end, that was the turning point of the series.
  10. Immensely disappointed because the Brewers team I watched over the final 60+ games didn't look or feel like the one I saw for two games in the postseason. I think it's probably time to shake things up significantly this offseason. Focus on building out around the current young core, maybe to the detriment of 2024.

  12. Welcome to the site! I don't know if I'm ever "proud" of people who boo a player but man, booing Winker in that situation was pretty warranted. And it's not even really Winker's fault; he didn't put himself on the roster.
  13. Literally nothing has gone the Brewers' way this series. Not gonna win when the baseball gods are peeing on you.
  14. Wiemer is a great postseason roster guy at the end of a bench. He can play up the middle defense, he can run, and he has some useful offensive capabilities against LHP.
  15. Yep, my thinking exactly. Wiemer is a big risk for the K but if he makes contact, ball go far.
  16. The only option was Wiemer. Sure, it's a huge risk but he gives the best chance of a 100mph exit velo against a lefty.
  17. Counsell is underwhelming me to a degree I did not think possible.
  18. Boy, a tough decision here. Use Wiemer and potentially end up with a K, or keep Frelick and end up with nothing (probably).
  19. Oh come on, don't get my hopes up and then lay down and die...
  20. I see that while I put my kids to bed, the Brewers went full-blown trash fire.
  21. If he starts his swing now, he might get the bat through the zone by the time he's put into the game.
