  1. Yeah, that was my rationale but woof, that Marlins offense. The way the Brewers' starters are pitching, they could pitch 15 innings of scoreless ball in two games against the Marlins.
  2. Who would you rather see the Brewers play in the first round, the Reds or Marlins? I think I lean Reds but I'm not really sure why.
  3. The Brewers may actually help the Cubs over the weekend. The Cubs are reeling and are currently tied with the Marlins in the final postseason spot. So while the Crew works to clinch the division, they may also be working toward a showdown with Chicago in the first round.
  4. You don't think some players are anti-clutch? I do. I think the number is exaggerated by fans and players are hard to identify in the moment but there are plenty of pitchers in baseball who just seem incapable of handling the ninth inning but are good middle men. I think the same could apply to the postseason but it's damned hard to identify those players in the moment, largely due to sample sizes.
  5. Meh, I had a meeting that ran through most of the game only to flip on the TV and see it's 6-0. I hate missing watching the Cards get beaten up.
  6. No, 56 people voted. The poll was listed above the forums for about 24 hours. The usual number of voters we get in a typical poll is 50-75.
  7. Okay man, we're like 150 games into the season so I finally have to ask... do you get excited when the Brewers use an opener or a spot start just so you can rhyme a different name that day?
  8. My assumption has always been they round up to one decimal point... like if something becomes 99.96% likely to happen, FanGraphs rounds up to 100%. Dunno if that's the case, it's just what I've determined in my head.
  9. Yeah, mathematically possible but not really possible in realistic circumstances.
  10. Wainwright got his 200th win. Gross.
  11. Adam Wainwright is sitting at 199 career wins. Let's make damned sure he doesn't notch 200 tonight.
  12. Sucks to see it for Wiemer but it's the right move. He's hopeless at the plate right now.
  13. Welcome to Brewer Fanatic! No matter what happens with Craig, he's one of the best managers in baseball and an integral part of the best stretch of Brewers baseball in the history of the franchise. He deserves a hat tip whether he stays, retires, or goes to the Mets.
  14. It's an exciting time to be a fan. The offense is coming around and the top three starters are (mostly) crushing it. Notch a few more wins, secure the division, then start aggressively resting guys and setting up for a postseason run.
  15. Well, the magic number is down well into single digits now as the Brewers have pushed their lead over the Cubs to 6.5 games.
  16. Absolutely. I'm a big believer in the team owning the stadium. If the government wants to offer them free land and tax subsidies on revenue, that's the full extent the state should be involved. No money should go directly to the team for producing the on-field product. The additional upside is that if a team owns the stadium, they have more buy-in to the community and more of an established presence in a metropolitan area.
  17. It will be interesting to see how the Brewers deploy Mitchell in the postseason, if at all. Teams can almost always use a speed guy on the bench but given this team's overall speed, I'm not sure if Mitchell is needed. I suppose it will all come down to how well and quickly he rehabs in Nashville.
  18. After 50 or so years, I think people have probably let it go. I'd probably let it go after that long, too. But in the short term, I'd resent the hell out of seeing the Brewers in Nashville or Portland or wherever.
  19. Heheh, I'm also a Twins fan. I should re-state: I'd never be a fan of a team that moved away from an area in which I cheered for them. I have no ill will toward fans receiving the relocated team.
  20. $700 million package: -$400 million from state -$200 million from city, county -$100-125 million from Brewers I know it's just how the world works but these numbers are upside-down from where they rightfully should be.
  21. I'm not sure when it happened but FanGraphs has now 100%-ed the Brewers to make the postseason!
  22. I'd never cheer for a relocated team. I'd either leave the sport or find a different team.
