  1. I always thought that he looked like the guy from American Pie. The guy that is dating Tara Reid in the first one. Can't post a picture right now, but i think it's a pretty good match. That Queer Eye guy is identical, wow.
  2. If you go by ERA, Sheets is not an All Star. His K/BB isn't even where it usually is. This is one heck of a year for pitchers, and everyone is putting up crazy K/BB numbers. Sheets has still got a great ratio, just nothing sick like the 264/40 year (numbers not exact). So do we now change everything we have been saying over the past four years and put Ben in there because he has 10 wins, tied for most in the league? You betcha! Wins matter, wins matter!! ERA is overrated!
  3. Let's mash this bullpen. We have to really put a strain on them somehow. It will help us out tomorrow and it will really hurt them going into the break. Time to lay waste.
  4. Or, how about, why did we give up 3 runs in the ninth?
  5. One thing Lou did there last inning i don't think you would ever see Yost do. With Bowen due up, he pinch hits Ward and puts his backup catcher in next inning. Maybe he has done something like that before, but i don't remember it.
  6. Alright Matty! I think we can all agree that Yost has been flawless tonight in his decision making. He cannot control what CV does, but when he failed he brought in Wise instead of Spurling or Capellan. So far so good.
  7. come on cv, get him. OHHH YESSS CV.. Thank you. Let's get out with 1 ER or less here.
  8. Fielder is going to have to start producing very quickly if he wants some support on the final vote next week. I figure if we all spent about 2 hours per day each we could get him in over Nomar.
  9. Oops, 92 pitches? Yes let's call it a day and i concur with the Whizkid's prescription. It's the only thing that will douse this Cub fever.
  10. As you can tell, i'm a little late on these comments. Gamecast will freeze for about a minute and then i'll get four pitches very rapidly. One more inning YoGa.
  11. Alright, way to battle back on Ramirez, Yo. If he can get us through 7 with only 2 ER, i'd call it a very successful day.
  12. I like the way he pitches, especially when it is working. He had a super year in 05, a dissapointing season last year that may have been due to injury, and looks to be doing pretty dang well again this year. He is one of the keys to this team staying atop the central in my opinion. You have Coco, who you know will be great. Turnbow can be nearly as dominate, but has his off nights. CV has been marvelous in his role. And then there are the "others". Capellan, Spurling, and Shouse are guys that i would never feel good about putting in there. With Turnbow becoming the setup guy by default, Wise is now a VERY important buffer between our good relievers and our bad relievers. He and CV can split time in the 6th and 7th innings. CV pitching 6 and 7 when the starter only goes 5. Wise pitching the 7th when he goes 6.
  13. Remember, had Bush not pitched in that game he was probably scheduled for a bullpen session anyway, right? I could be wrong about this. Someone may have said it already but after the log in menu took me completely out of the thread for the millionth time i forgot what was going on. I'm not too worried about Bush, he seems to do well in Chicago. I agree that Vargas is the obvious choice to be traded. The only problem is that we have very few holes to be filled. Can we really get a solid reliever for a #5 pitcher? I feel bad for Claudio. He's done his best to help us win all year and then just before we make our final playoff push, he's gone and playing in Florida or Kansas City.
  14. I could be wrong, but i think voting closes tonight at midnight. No? Yes? Or maybe that's tomorrow night.
  15. I'm assuming at least 3 of those 5 losses with Damian in there are on get away days or sundays. We always seem to struggle in those... Not today!!!
  16. I think that officially makes it Damian Miller night. Holy Cow!!! What is our record now when Damian starts?
  17. Dear Astros, Please put in Randolph at some point. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/woogie22/bullpen/627.jpg
  18. Someone on the Brewers please hit a homer and let's move on.
  19. He's not pitching out of the stretch yet. This is different. This is like a start for him now. It will only last until we can score a run. Hart, Hardy, Braun, Fielder should do the trick.
  20. As stated before, i'm watching on Gameday. So was that last inning complete domination by Coco or was it... complete domination by Coco?
  21. Was that close to being a hit, an at'em ball, or just a soft liner by Prince? Can't tell with gameday.
  22. I have no problem walking Lee with a 3-0 count. I would have made that pitch intentional.
  23. Carlos vs. DBow. This should be fun.
  24. I think TGJR would be pretty successful in Florida. Maybe like Pierre with less steals in his prime.
