  1. The Nationals are doing fine. Oh, you meant the Brewers...
  2. Are we reliving last September again? Maybe we'll actually not suck entering the playoffs or just be out of them altogether.
  3. I hope that's not a new euphamism for running through your fields naked!
  4. Back to kindergarden, one of these batters is not like the others: Batter Bases Empty/Total Yelich .628/.682 Adames .711/.763 Tellez .667/.799 Urias .765/.683 McCutcheon .582/.591 Renfroe 1.001/.795 Narvaez .725/.779 Peterson .640/.705 Taylor .618/.688
  5. The Nationals are the Reds of the East. I'm not worried.
  6. I wonder if they hired someone who is Dyslexic for their analytic group and all of the analysis are flipped. Because I can't imagine how you can conclude your 3rd best hitter this year should be batting 8th.
  7. I agree with both. Why reward Yelich (and make it seem like he's not as horrible as he is) with an extra ground ball single because he can't actually hit the thing in the air. That's all banning the shift will do. Yes. Lower the mound, move it back, change the ball size. Everything should be considered to create more action.
  8. It really isn't 100% a Brewers issue. Baseball in general is a major yawn. I can't fathom how the league and owners think that having players fail at their job 70-80% of the time is going to keep fans interest. Offense is down again this year. There was a spike in HR starting in mid-May so maybe the league is trying to address it (things like moving the mound back can't be implemented mid-year), but they need to juice the ball much more and eliminate the damn humidoor except for the Rockies. If this crap product continues then this 60+ year fan is DONE.
  9. Looks like the Brewers are closer to being the 2021 NY Mets than the 2021 Atlanta Braves
  10. I imagine there job is pretty stressful. They know they can't make a single mistake.
  11. You are free to feel however you want to feel. It's just becoming comical that Renfroe only seems to be able to do anything when nobody is on. He actually would be the perfect leadoff hitter as he has a >0.900 OPS with the bases empty.
  12. Great! Another solo shot. How did he do when there were runner on?
  13. Don't expect a lot of roster moves that add salary. Brewers attendance is down 5,000 a game from the same periods compared to 2018 and 2019 and it was down significantly last year. Their revenue is taking a hit and I doubt they will choose to lose money by expanding the major league roster salary. Maybe they will finally come through with their promise to spend to put them over the hump, but they really didn't do it last year and they didn't do it this offseason (the McCutcheon signing plus arbitration numbers are pretty neutral).
  14. Yes I understand attendance goes up after school lets out. When I quoted they were down 5,000 I was using the attendance for games from thru June 6, 2019 and June 6, 2022, not for the entire 2019 to the first part of 2022. In fact, they are down almost 8,000 when comparing all of 2019 to the first part of 2022.
  15. If the Nazi's made the Russians watch Brewers baseball would they have defeated them?
  16. Well the Brewers can't continue to be competitive with 28,000 fans per game. Take a look at this years attendance. It is down 5,000 a game from 2019 (before the pandemic and the year following a playoff run). When they drew 35,000+ per game in 2018 and spent the money they did, Attanasio said they lost money even with the playoff revenue in 2018. Sure attendance was down last year likely due to pandemic related factors, but there are no stadium restrictions this year. Baseball as a whole has been seeing consistent overall attendance drops. The owners and the commissioners office ignore it because they are charging more per customer and they are generating more revenue. I don't know how many of those fans are walking away because of cost (or attending fewer games), but what's the answer in Milwaukee is not the answer in Chicago as every other market in Baseball will have more people with disposable incomes than Milwaukee (due to being the smallest market). The Cubs could probably increase ticket prices by 30% and still see a decent increase in revenue as there will be plenty of people to take up the slack. I also don't presume companies with huge revenues do the right thing or have the right direction. Does Netflix have access to lots of Marketing information? Do they have their heads up their butts? I don't think there's an owner in baseball that cares about dropping attendance or people being bored with the product as long as they can increase revenue from the smaller fan base, but at some point the crap will hit the fan, but like wall street most of them will have dropped the equivalent of GE stock long before it tanks. Also, back in 2018 I believe the Brewers were #1 in revenue/market size/population. Expecting them to get even more out of that pop/market is harder and harder.
  17. Yelich and McCutcheon were 4 for 6 last night. Renfroe came in with an 0-4 with 4 LOB. And the beat goes on... Can't wait until he regresses to the mean. Maybe if he waits until October then we'll have 1 out of the 3 hot hitters needed during the postseason.
  18. Was listening to the radio the other day while driving and I was shocked that the DJs started making fun of the cost of going to Brewer games. One of them attempted a joke about how you pay so much for everything and then during the game staff come up and ask you to pay more money for no reason. You're "eventually" may be longer than you think as I wouldn't be surprised if there is a significant proportion of attendees that already think the cost is too much. Forcing them to spend more will likely just reduce trips and be revenue neutral. I think you need to focus on the non-gameday revenue streams first and foremost before redistributing the gameday revenues.
  19. Historically that might have been the case, but with the current launch angle environment, Alexander's pitch repertoire is anti-launch angle and he could have some extended success.
  20. Even with the uptick in HR all of a sudden the offensive numbers for 2022 are still down 10-20% compared to 2021. That's gotta impact players on the decline likely more than younger players still with their skills in tact.
  21. For a pitcher who throws pretty much all sinkers with a slider now and then, you will feast on GIDP (hopefully). His first start was pretty amazing as I think only 2 balls made it into the air, everything was either a grounder for a hit or out.
  22. I think that Alexander was good enough last start that they will give him a few more to see what he can do and the Brewers really are committed to sticking with the 6 day rotation. Really the pitching isn't the problem it's the toothpick flickers for hitters.
  23. Yeah thanks for filling in 1 position. He was talking about 3rd/4th, but of course the 3rd hitter for the Rays is only .115 OPS points higher than Yelich so of course you ignore him.
  24. Yes, let's eliminate any criticism because anybody who doesn't believe the Brewers are the greatest team on the Planet are just haters.
