  1. Can Tellez or Wong get a hit on a LHP? Maybe Renfroe can hit a HR?
  2. Gott's been pretty good lately. One run in his last 9 appearances.
  3. last time I checked (a week or so ago), their average with RISP was better than their overall average.
  4. I was just hoping he'd go 5. So he could get the win after we take the lead in the bottom of the inning. His W-L record is pretty dreadful.
  5. maybe it was after one of the games was finished, but not the other?
  6. we're behind, we're ahead, we're tied, and now we're sorta behind again (phl winning, we losing). bumpy ride.
  7. I didn't have any issue with the ranking; such rankings are arbitrary. I had issue with the "reasoning" that was given. Giving significance to 4 hitless games sandwiched between 5 multiple hit games is fatuous. The guy had 11 hits in his last 9 games. And I'll apologize for contributing to this tangent.
  8. I get it. Being hitless in 4 straight games says soooo much about a player. Wait! I know probability; no it doesn't!
  9. They can probably lose one and still get in the playoffs.
  10. The Dodgers are probably not prioritizing $ per win. They don't have a bottomless well of money, but it's close.
  11. Except that it's not that injury that seems to be limiting him.
  12. With only 28 man active rosters, you can't sit everyone like you could when there were 40 man active rosters.
  13. your fundamental error is that you equate round with circular or spheric. It's not. It's only approximately so. This is 100% semantics, and in semantics you need to go back to the definitions of the words.
  14. and you don't realize how you cherry-picked that 30AB chunk? If you increase it to his last 38 AB, it goes up to .2895.
  15. There are 20 guys I could have put 14-20, and I think they all have a chance for a ML career. 1. Chourio 2. Frelick 3. Mitchell 4. Ruiz 5. Wiemer 6. Turang 7. Quero 8. Gasser 9. Black 10. Brown 11. Avina 12. Y. Perez 13. Misiorowski 14. Feliciano 15. C. Rodriguez 16. S. Cruz 17. Devanney 18. Small 19. Areinamo 20. Moore
  16. And he got 3, 2 and 2 hits in the 3 games before those 4, and 2 and 2 hits in the two final games of the season. So in the 9-game stretch which is centered on 4 Oh-For games, he still hit about .290.
  17. There's probably no thing in the known universe that's perfectly round, if you measured it precisely enough. The semantics used in those articles is based on a faulty (implied) definition.
  18. I wouldn't. We don't even know if Turang will hit well enough to stay up the whole year. I wouldn't extend Wong, but picking up his option and then trading him is something I hadn't considered. Should be able to trade him for a solid RP. The only risk is if you can't trade him. Finding a quality young 3B in trade is about as easy as finding a unicorn.

  20. It doesn't have to be perfectly round to be "round." Definitions from Oxford American English Dictionary: round | round | adjective 1 shaped like or approximately like a circle or cylinder: 2 shaped like or approximately like a sphere
