  1. If we permanently benched every player who was cold for a period of 36 at bats, we'd be down to fielding our A+ players in the majors.
  2. I dunno. He doesn't strike out enough. #BrewerDNA
  3. Wong has been hot since June. I'm warming to the idea of having him return, though I'm still worried about his defense falling off a cliff. Can Wong, Adames, Urias, Turang, and Brosseau cover 2B-SS-3B? Might be a little short at 3B unless Urias is the (nearly) everyday 3B. Turang is LH hitter, but has reverse splits this year (even last year).
  4. A sweep would (probably) make things a lot more favorable for the Brewers.
  5. If he can hit nearly .400 before he "finds his footing," maybe we don't want him to ever find his footing. ? But being more comfortable won't do much unless he's doing something different when he becomes comfortable. I wonder what batted ball stats might tell us (launch angle, exit velocity); are there batted ball data available for minor leaguers?
  6. but he's also better than them on cumulative stats like WAR, not just rate stats. If they have Adames, Urias, and Turang on the roster, they don't need him to be a full-time starter. Also, he missed 30+ games through injury.
  7. If I counted correctly, Frelick didn't have a HR in his first 30 games in AAA, then hit 4 in his last 8 games. Is he doing something different, or is it just random?
  8. Finally we agree. ?
  9. It's less of a difference now after the HR. But even before the HR, his OPS was just under .700, which is not dreadful. A RH hitter who can't hit RHP at all isn't a major league player.
  10. could you start complaining about the stock market?
  11. half of his HRs are against righties. His splits aren't huge.
  12. Josh Hader has only pitched twice since the 9th because SD has no faith in him. He's getting more rest than a SP.
  13. I don't see how you can say he doesn't have much movement. His problem is command.
  14. He's a no brainer to sign at that rate, but I think he gets more. He's outplayed the other 3Bs who might be free agents (unless Arenado declines his option). It only takes one GM to want to give him a 4 yr, $40M contract.
  15. I think Frelick would have had a chance to put up the kind of numbers that Benintendi had been cranking out this year before his injury. We could have had our Benintendi at no cost, but the "brain trust" went with Mitchell.
  16. I'd love for Peterson to return, but I'd peg the chance at around 35%. This will be his first chance to get a good payday, and I think he goes for it. If Brewers can do something like 2 years @ $4M a year, it's a no brainer. If someone offers him 4 years @ $8M or more a year, he's gone. The $3M option on Boxberger ought to be picked up. I'd give him a 85% shot of returning. They're moving on from Narvaez. Severino or Feliciano will be on the roster. I'd put Narvaez's chance of returning at less than 5%. Rogers will only be back on a short, cheap deal. If they can sign him for a year at $4M, sure. If it takes 3-4 years at $6M or more he's gone. 20% chance of returning. And WONG? It's not complicated at all. He's gone. They can spend the $8M better elsewhere. Less than 10% chance of returning, and only if Peterson is gone.

  18. you naysayers do realize that generating clicks generates $ for the site, right? So do you want it to fail? Or would you rather pay $50 a year?
  19. Is Reyes on the 40-man? seems like he's been around awhile.
  20. Is Reyes on the 40-man? seems like he's been around awhile.
  21. Hummel has played (poorly) in 63 MLB games this year. Can a guy on a ML roster go to the AFL?
  22. 16 of Judge's 60 HR have been against rookies. something I learned from sportscenter.
  23. most rookies suck, even guys that end up having a nice career. Predicting two will be 4 WAR guys is unreasonable. None of them should be expected to be better than Renfroe. Love to be proven wrong, but the odds are on my side.
