  1. He's serviceable as a AAAA guy who is in the majors for parts of a season. They should be smart and pull him after he goes through the lineup twice (unless he's done it in under 60 pitches).
  2. We absolutely have a chance. 140 years of baseball history says so.
  3. They were traded together to acquire a veteran player. No Drew Rasmussen.
  4. Alexander made it through the order twice. Time to pull him, regardless of his pitch count.
  5. Why did only one of the runs scored on Mario's error get him an RBI? I don't remember the rules on getting RBIs on an error, but it seems like it should be both or neither.
  6. Anyone remember Clint Coulter when he was a Brewer farmhand? I thought he had a chance for a major league career. Made an error on Mario's ball.
  7. Singleton now with two based-loaded walks. It's good to have an elite skill, even if it's taking a walk.
  8. I wish they started these clips a little earlier.
  9. They're just trying to give Cousins some sticky things to get out of. It's no problem. A growth experience.
  10. With Mario and Pedro, Brewers can let Narvaez walk as a FA,
  11. Every time Ruiz or Mitchell leads off an inning, I would have them bunt.
  12. Mario has his power back, baby! Grand Salami.
  13. It's good to have faith. Not sure that Stearns warrants it.
  14. The best we got is playing for Nashville right now.
  15. Yes, if you're talking about the rest of his career, or even the rest of the season.
  16. I hope he saved a good bit of his $450K bonus.
  17. Step One: let McCutchen, Wong, and Peterson walk. Step Two: Sign Nolan Arenado to a 4 year $160M contract. Step Three: Promote Turang and two of our 4 OF prospects. Play Turang at 2b, Urias as super-utility. Step Four: Trade TT for an excellent middle reliever. Step Five: Have our pitching be dominant again. Getting Arenado is about the only way to drastically increase our chances. No other FA at a position of need is worthwhile paying big $. Without him, might as well bring back Peterson. Added in edit: Step Six: Let Narvaez walk, replace with Feliciano or give a chance to one of the AAAA catchers in our system..
  18. A guy with career .324 OBP, and OPS of .664, and a negative in the field would probably get several partial seasons in the majors. At his 2-year peak, he'd be a solid starter. There is a stat that includes every way a player can pick up a base (including SB and SF, etc.) but I haven't seen it used recently. Can't think of what it's called; thought of total bases, but that's something else. Willy Adames is 8th among SS in WAR (FanGraphs). Those of you who think he's not a positive are wrong.
  19. No, they got him for two legitimate prospects. JBJ was probably a negative.
