  1. And the team with the best record in the majors, the Dodgers, got swept in 3 different 3-game series during this season, including once by the Pirates.
  2. After the results vs. the Pirates, Lauer is going to make his case that he's the stopper in the Brewers' rotation.
  3. Frelick hit better in AA than in A+, and now is hitting better in AAA than he was in AA. We must promote him so he can start his HOF career by hitting even better in the majors. ?
  4. Frelick and Turang with singles in the top of the 1st, but no runs. Frelick is making a case he should replace Davis immediately.
  5. I put him 12th on my list of prospects. I might be more sanguine on his chances than many.
  6. Three will be on the opening day roster (best bets Turang, Ruiz, Frelick). Davis, McCutchen, and Wong will be gone. Slight chance for another one of the OF to displace Taylor from the roster (whom we can trade for a lottery ticket prospect near the end of spring training, when some team loses a CF to injury).
  7. Even a man who is pure at heart and says his prayers by night… http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ERw-3xQQ5pI/TtlZ6NpRi-I/AAAAAAAAVmw/m3i4QZdsD4Y/s400/0artwolfmain.png By Edward Copeland …may become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.
  8. Our only chance for a World Series (appearance, even) is if our starting pitchers dominate and the back end of our bullpen closes out the games. Trading Hader might have IMPROVED our chances since Bush and Rogers should be more valuable than Hader and one of the AAAA guys we've been using. But let's not kid ourselves, the biggest part of the equation is our starters dominating. When they don't, even the Pirates can sweep us, as we just found out.
  9. I reckon the Brewers were ready to cut bait with Barker long before this. They evaluated him as a AAAA pitcher with no future on the major league team. For all we know, they figured he'd be better served by him taking more control over his rehabilitation. Do we even know he's losing money? Are AAA salaries guaranteed?
  10. Any other conspiracy theories you want to share with us?
  11. His performance in "32 ACL. . .games" wouldn't have raised him so high if scouts, etc. hadn't evaluated him so well. He can still crush the ball.
  12. You have two Hedbert Perez's. Did you mean Y. Perez for one of them?
  13. The stats that adjust for league/ballpark for Ruiz are still excellent. Iirc, someone posted that he had a 146 RC+.
  14. how about giving Singleton or White days off to get the 4 OFs into the lineup?
  15. They are all adults getting paid six, seven, or eight figures a year to play a game. If they're brooding over losing Hader, they need to get the heck over it. It was a bad series, though.
  16. What makes you think this is the thread to argue down other people's rankings? It's to take a poll to generate an average prospect ranking. One person's odd selections won't change the average very much. And looking back in the thread, you haven't even posted your own list.
  17. My long list had 54 players. I feel pretty good about the depth in the system. Biggest lack is a top of the rotation pitcher. The guys I picked 15-20 were pretty arbitrary--there are at least 10 other guys who could have been slotted in that range, but didn't make my short list. 1) Chourio OF 2) Frelick OF 3) Wiemer OF 4) Ruiz OF 5) Turang SS 6) Mitchell OF 7) Gasser P 8. Black 2b 9) Small P 10 Brown SS 11) Misiorowski P 12) Y. Perez 1B-OF 13) Feliciano C 14) Quero C 15) Valerio 2B 16) Avina OF 17) Reetz C 18) H. Perez OF 19) E. Garcia SS 20) Mogollon P
  18. Don't hate me because I know things. ?
  19. This https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/henry-talbot-564951?stats=career-r-hitting-milb. mentioned he was at Boise State. Maybe he preferred to be a potato farmer instead of a pro baseball player.
  20. If we assume that his 60 for 69 attempts is his true ability, the probability of two CS is about 1.7%. Or if you want odds, 59-1 odds.
  21. I really wanted to see a Mitchell-Wiemer double steal, but I guess a lefty on the mound was enough discouragement.
  22. 4 HR in his last 16 games. This is important because he was showing no power earlier in the season.
