I think he'd make the team better, but not that much since he's not a good CF and he's only a platoon bat. He has a higher OPS+ than anyone on the Brewers.
1) boom or bust IS a way to go. Possibly the best chance to win a WS.
2) Ohtani or Soto would markedly improve the Brewers chances of winning the WS. Probably double it.
I don't think the Angels are if full rebuild mode. If they traded Ohtani, the first thing they'd want back is Burnes.
But if they are in full rebuild mode, think bigger. Get Trout, too. It's OK, we can have the worst minors for the next 3 years.
Small doesn't come close to Burnes's stuff. I believe his ceiling is significantly worse than current Lauer, but more than Suter. I'd trade him if another team valued him appropriately.
I consider these things to be self-evident.
1) Pitching Small in the majors is reducing his value as a trade piece.
2) They need one more decent reliever. Go get 'im! If we don't get our SP back soon, we'll need a SP too.
3) This offense looks a lot better when Renfroe is in the lineup. Can anyone pull up stats to show this?
