  1. To answer any speculation that may come up from some corners of Brewer fandom................no.
  2. They haven't yet announced a starter for Thursday, have they? That could be Crow. They like giving starters extra rest these days. I'm also thinking Sproat gets a start either Thursday or Friday, despite Murphys' recent comments that weren't exactly a glowing endorsement (although the thought of him going in Denver stands one's hair on end just a touch).
  3. Years ago my wife worked at the Pfister during a break from college. She buys that stuff.
  4. Two. I see @sveumrules beat me to it, and provided just a touch more detail 😛.
  5. Someone on X who I know nothing about (just like everyone else on X lol) 'broke' late last night that Hardin is indeed being added & will start today. It makes sense given he's on normal rest & since joining the Sounds has been outstanding. In a perfect world I'd rather his debut come against a team with a little less offense from the LH side, but the world isn't perfect. If true, really looking forward to it.
  6. I know, low bar. But I watched some of Quinn Priester's initial outing in the ACL & he looked better. Removed after 3.2 innings.
  7. One of the three mentioned above has an OBP of around .400 over the last couple weeks. Another is 9-32 in roughly the same time frame---not red hot but hardly "he needs to go!!!" territory for an 8-9 hitter. The third has scuffled most of the season but had a .756 OPS last year, hit .288 & is far & away their best RFer. He's being given a long leash; IMO correctly so.
  8. My only thoughts are Chourio still has problems chasing at times, and maybe Murphy thinks he'll get better pitches to hit w/Turang behind him? Or it might be just a personal preference thing btwn Yelich & Turang. Cuz on paper yeah, they could be flipped.
  9. Let's hope last night was the start of good things for Sal Frelick. Seven hits from the trio of Frelick, Rengifo & Hamilton. The bottom 3rd turning the order over like that consistently would be huge. I also loved not chasing & drawing the boatload of walks. Bauers is going to be pitched carefully if he continues to produce. I thought his taking four walks last night was beautiful.
  10. Agree with all. Regarding Priester----yeah, it would be foolish to count on him in '26. At the same time, I'm reminded of Ashby in 2024. He was at almost a walk per inning at Nashville, just horrible numbers. I thought the braintrust was losing it when they brought him back to Milwaukee, but he was pretty damned good to finish the season. All I'm saying re Priester is nerve issues can be weird. Let's not pin hopes on him but at the same time let's let it play out.
  11. I agree with this. I think people forget how solid he looked in 2024 before the surgery. Let's let him get further removed from that event & see where he is down the road.
  12. Agree 100% re the 'change of scenery' common thread btwn Segura & Perkins. But the Brewers didn't simply cut Segura loose, they included him in a trade with Arizona & received three players.
  13. Gotcha. But given the situation with the N'Ville OF I don't think it would be to the Brewers' benefit to simply cut him loose. To Perkins' benefit? Yeah, I think you're probably right. Change of scenery & all that. It may come to the point where they could get a lottery ticket for him if he goes to AAA & starts to turn things around. Barring that, as long as he has options IMO he stays in the organization.
  14. In all my years following the Brewers, maybe my biggest swing-and-a-miss. There was NO DOUBT in my mind that Sal Bando would make an excellent GM.
  15. There really isn't anyone at Nashville who Perkins would harm the development of by taking time away from that person. You could definitely make that claim if he took time from Lara except that won't happen. If he was out of options, yes he'd be a DFA or 'outright' candidate.
  16. For the most part, If they put up similar ABs to what they did the last two days I'll take my chances. They worked more than enough deep counts & had quite a few "at 'em" balls. Definitely some situational ABs that need to be better. Nice opportunity for Drohan after stacking some good BP appearances.
  17. He HAS been interesting. I don't know how much trade value he would have since he's never really established himself defensively or at any one position, but I think the Brewers would love for someone to show interest in Leonard so they could include him in a deal. Toward that end, hopefully he can heat back up; 1 for his last 18.
  18. Drohan has been announced as the starter for game 1 vs SF. It appears the role you mentioned above for Drohan (long man for RHP) would slide to Hall. Even if Drohan continues to start you don't really NEED four LHP in the BP, so we'll see what they want to do once Koenig gets added.
  19. Good points, but I still think you'll see them have a true mopper-upper in the back end, whether it's Woodford, McGee, Rodriguez, whoever. When you get a game like Saturday or the middle game vs LA, I think they'd rather use one arm for 3-4 innings whenever possible. Just going by what they've seemed to prefer. Filling the pen with people who are a little more proven but who you don't want to use for more than 7-8 hitters could also work.
  20. Wouldn't have thought Mitchells' K rate was that high in May. Seemed lower to me, I guess it was hidden by some of the loud ABs he's turned in lately. Those pitching numbers---and NOT COUNTING todays' performance. Just wow.
  21. If they did what you suggest, I wouldn't mind that. It just doesn't seem to be their mindset at this time. What I'd do is check Lara's box scores & see if they slide him over to RF on occasion. He's only played there five times this year; if it starts to happen a little more often they might be considering something.
  22. What's frustrating is before hitting the IL he played in a couple games in LF, so they were thinking that post-op he could go out there on occasion. It would really help the overall versatility of the roster but like you said it looks like that's back to a no-go.
  23. Yeah. What sucked today, was Hamilton & Ortiz were both effective in their first couple trips to the plate & Yelich followed with two miserable ABs.
  24. Because Lockridge is hurt & they aren't going to bring Lara up here to play sparingly. He's also most likely better than Jones, and I'm pretty sure they don't trust Leonard's glove anywhere. I'm not trying to defend Perkins' play, I agree it's been pretty much indefensible. Just trying to answer your question.
  25. And as we move forward, this could very well be a deciding factor as the summer drags on. Perkins used to fit the 'little things' category but has been rough going back to midway thru last season. Today, you had a new pitcher & new catcher out there for the 9th. Trying to pick up 3rd base w/one out is a very solid idea. But he really telegraphed it. Rengifo needs to hit to stay, at least at the level he displayed in the past w/LA. He had the seven-hits-in-three-day stretch awhile back but cooled right back down. Plus, if/when Pratt and/or Williams gets here I get the feeling this staff really likes the idea of a Joey Ortiz around as someone to help ease them in.
